How to get radio update files

With the help on this thread i went from 34.2 to the 39.9. My CarPlay was absolutely nonexistent before and now its "buggy" but a significant improvement. Thank you to everyone who put in all the work, created the google doc, and step by step instructions!

I just updated to 39.7 and everything is working fine, even the steering angle is working. I have a 2020 big horn 4x4. I don't believe my truck has the ORP but I seen people saying that the sensor weren't added unless you have the ORP? Maybe my truck does have ORP? Can anyone confirm?

Steering angle works on my Laramie and I don't have ORP.

BTW - tried to upload the 39.7 version, it failed and said error code 01
I am on 39.9

What am I doing wrong? I download the file its zipped im using a Mac I double click it to unzip it VP4R_Update file goes on desktop. I drag that file to my flash drive. when I insert it into USB port on truck it goes to the update countdown screen. Once it gets to the 0 mark radio will flash off and come back on it keeps doing this never goes to updating screen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

You don't need the whole folder in the thumb drive. Open up the folder and only drag the update file itself into thumb drive.

Ok Im guessing this doesn't work if you upgraded your screen from 8.4. Its now saying cannot update software not compatible with vehicle.

Meaning it updates to the radio, not the BCM. As long as you have 12" it should work. What is current software revision?

Unable to find an answer. Any newer versions since 39.9? I'm doubting it because Uconnect 5 came out, but worth the ask
I have to do all, except the lowest version, in my new to me 2019

Nope

Does this require a special type of thumb drive or something? I’ve followed the instructions, tried all different types of formatting. Both latest versions of firmware files. Copied the VP4_Update folder directly, the actual files inside it. Every combination I can think of and the truck does nothing.

I just used a 2GB thumb drive from the drawer, formatted to FAT32, then extracted the update files to it.
Plugged in to USB1 in my truck and hit the ACC button. The rest was handled

Try going to an earlier update first before going to the most recent. Mine wouldnt update at first until I did the 36.x updates then it would let me do the next one

I went and got another thumb drive and now it’s working. Looks like it just didn’t like the one I initially tried. Thanks all.

Did you verify the update? I just did mine. At first, I just had the truck on ACC. After the system restarted, I checked and it was still on the old 39.62.0. The whole process took like 5mins.

So I started up the truck to RUN and plugged in the USB drive once more, and it went through the update process again. This time the screen showed 35min with a progress bar. The whole process took around 20mins.
