How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

Please tell me if I got this right...
All I need is the ACC Switch if I have a 2021 RAM with factory installed DASM and 12" screen? See quote below.
My VIN WBAGV2C02LCD73566

"Lane assist, ACC, Parking assist, Pedestrian Emergency Brake for 2021 Laramie with 12”
screen and FCW (DASM factory installed), this list can be used for most 5th Gen
RAM1500 with DASM factory installed, except TRX ( NEED ONLY 68309592AD for ACC)"
I'm not sure where that quote comes from. You quoted the post that tells you want you need. Second post in this thread. And why did you post twice about it? You started another thread and also posted in here. I'd suggest deleting the other one.

But I have no idea what trim you have done you didn't post that.

The actual abs initialization page is not a procedure that you press start on. It is just a page that gives you a list of what procedures need to be performed.
Clearing rolls information is last step of the initialization, and once that passed, you’re done.
That is good information to have, I did not realize that.

So right now I have 3 yellow lights on the dash and messages on the dash. No codes are showing in Alpha.

The lights are
-Service Forward Collision Warning (FCW) Light
-Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Fault Warning Light
-in the bottom right corner there is a Star with a truck and OFF under it. Which I can't find in the manual but I think it's related to pedestrian emergency braking?

I also have messages saying
-Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Unavailable Service Required.
- When I select standard Cruise Control it pops up Canceled immediately.

I have also went into the display settings and tried to turn on Automatic Emergency Braking >Warning + Braking and it selects and then goes back to off.
-

Okay I have to be missing something that is holding me back. I reran all the procedures and rechecked all the selections which are still correct. No changes and everything above is the same. But I noticed going back and forth in Alpha that when I reconnected to the ABS that my Settings Screen on the head unit would switch over to the Automatic Emergency Braking >Warning + Braking and actually stay selected. This made all my fault lights go away. I could push Cruise Control and it would actually turn on and I could hit ACC and it would turn on and give me the icon on the dash. So I cranked the truck and started pulling forward and after a few seconds the Automatic Emergency Braking >Warning + Braking would kick out and go back to off and the icons would pop back up on the dash. If I stop, disconnect from Alpha and then reconnect it would repeat the process until I start moving again or logout of Alpha.

Why is this happening? There has to be something I have overlooked somewhere. I feel like I am so close to having this thing working.

Does anybody have any advice or guidance on this? I am stuck and out of things to try. I really don't want to have to take the truck to the dealership unless it's 100% necessary. The above message is still where the truck is at now. All errors cleared but the warning lights on the dash and no ACC or regular cruise control. But when I connect to Alpha the warnings go away and things look like they should but as soon as I drive or disconnect they go back to not working. Same goes for the setting on the head unit for the Automatic Emergency Braking >Warning + Braking. Connects when in Alpha but kicks out when the truck moves or disconnects from Alpha.

I'm going to guess you need to go to the dealer.

Can you connect to your body computer, do a Read System ID, then post your body_chrysler_info log here (preferably as a google drive doc).

All good with the settings there.
You said you have a 22 rebel, which already had the dasm, so all good there.

How about the abs and hcu modules you got. Were they used? If so, what’s the donor VIN?
If they were new, what are the part numbers on the boxes they came in?

Yes they were used parts. I have PN 68436462AE and 68415320AA. I did not have the VIN from the donor truck, I purchased them from a used parts store online. When I ran all the steps and procedures I deleted my VIN in alpha and after running the set up it assigned a new VIN on its own which is what is reflected in the System ID I shared. And it's a different VIN than one that was assigned previously when I first did the set up procedure. It seems to assign a different VIN each time I do the full set up process.

Is it a problem that I don't have the donor VIN?

What I’m getting at is, how do we know for sure those are the part numbers you received.
How are you determining that the abs module you received is actually 68436462AE? Normally, the part number on the sticker on the abs module does not reflect the actual part number that it is, and comes back as nothing. Does the sticker on the abs module say 68436462AE, and if not, what is it?
I just recently installed a used abs/hcu set that was advertised as coming from a limited donor VIN with adaptive cruise, but when I installed them and read the system ID, the VIN came back as a TRX, and that was the reason I had issues.
So, we’re basically trying to verify that you actually received the correct abs/hcu set.

Now, when you say the abs is getting assigned a different VIN every time, is it not currently showing up as your truck’s VIN? Because it is supposed to be.

Can you connect to your ABS module real quick with alfaobd, and go to status/faults (battery icon for android version). Click on System ID. Is both the current and original VIN the same, and is it the VIN of your truck?
Right under the VINs are ECU Part number and Hardware Part number. What are those?

I apologize I was looking at something wrong because that is my correct VIN on the sheet.
Under ECU Part Number I am showing 68438453AD same for the hardware.
I just looked and that is what the back of the HCU pump sticker says as well. If I recall that’s the same call out that @MayhemMOORE mentioned earlier in the forum that was on his HCU. But to your point I have no way of confirming the parts are what they said they are. And if that PN is different does that mean it’s truly not the PN I ordered?

I was under the assumption that if I had the wrong ABS module then I wouldn’t have the ACC information or buttons pop up period.

Thank you again for taking the time to help me through this, I am extremely grateful!

Why did you just quote his post and not type anything? Or answer his questions?

Ok, it’s looking like you did receive non-adaptive cruise abs and hcu modules. Based on the posts from the member in the pics below, that is what his abs part shows in alfaobd also. So, essentially, you did the same thing as installing the switch and just enabling the adaptive cruise settings, which yields no faults, but all the errors on the cluster.

I did see that and then later on post 188 and 189 he got it to work. Which I was assuming was with the same module mentioned above?

You need the proper modules. Otherwise, you could have just used what was in your truck already. But you can't because they have specific ones.

Nevermind as I reread further it stopped working on him and he did have to use a different unit and I did in fact get send the wrong parts..... time to start back from scratch.

I appreciate you chiming in and the advice. I will update after they either send me the correct module or I purchase one from else where.

Yep, read into posts 209 then 234.
I’m certain you don’t have the correct abs/hcu.

I agree with you. I feel like an idiot for getting this far and crying wolf when I have read this forum front to back a couple times trying to avoid the Same mistakes others have made. Thanks for offering help and advice regardless of my ignorance. I should not have assumed that the used parts they sent me were the correct units.
