How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

That is strange... The sound I heard was similar to the sound the ABS module made during the bleeding procedure, but a little shorter, maybe 2 seconds long.

Also my configuration is a little different: I only enabled ACC and Lane Assist as of now. Although the assist is not on, I haven't gotten the replacement head unit with hardware buttons yet. Based on these differences I suspect that the fault might be generated by either pedestrian brake or park assist.
I got back home from business trip and tried one more time Your procedure. This time I had no noise as before, but I was somehow able to clear C10D0 error code. Thank You one more time! You put the final point to this project, no more open questions, no dealers to be involved. @Jimmy07 @tdb0021 Thank You for making this project happen.

Hello I was wondering who I need to talk to to help me figure out what center stack I need to get to do the swap. I have got all the other part numbers looked up and added to purchase per the guide. The only thing that I am confused on is the center stack. I have the 8 inch non navigation unit. My truck is a 2019 big horn level 2. Thanks again nicholas

Center stack part number is shown in the second post of this thread, You would need also radio module. For the swap from 8" to 12" and all details we have a thread in this forum.

The 8.4” radio bezel that you need, that would have the button for lane sense, is only available on the bezel for the 8.4” with navigation screen, and doesn’t really fit around your 8.4” non nav screen. I’m sure you can modify the bezel a little bit to make it work if you’re completely against swapping to the 8.4” with nav radio. The center stack mentioned in the second post is for a 12” screen, so you don’t want that (unless you’re going to do the full 12” radio swap). Start by searching auto trader for a truck that has the 8.4 bezel with all the controls on it you’re looking for. Copy the VIN of that truck, and call any dealership parts department and ask them what part number it is. The name of the part you would be asking about is called Center Stack Controls, Lower Upper.

Thank you for your help. I am not to attach to the 8.4 screen. I could do the 12 inch swap. If I get the new radio module will the harnesses be there for lane sense and the auto park. Or could you please link me to the thread with all the part numbers just for the 12 inch screen swap. I saw the post about adding the auto park and what to purchase for it. Sorry for all the trouble.
Thanks nicholas

Lane assist and auto park have nothing to do with the radio, but center stack. Attached parts list one more time, shown in 2nd post, You need to add radio module only. I guess You have DASM already.

So I'm not 100% on what I would need. I have a 21 rebel with blind spot monitor, parking sensors, pedestrian auto brake, cross traffic monitor, rain sensitive wipers. I should pretty much have all the sensors I need and the ABS module for the ACC? I would just need the button and a software program?

You would need everything I think. DASM, ABS/HCU, button, and center stack.

Do You have Forward Collision Warning Plus, 21 Rebel should have it? I believe You have DASM already. if so, check PDF attachment on this page.

Yes, I have forward collision warning. The only features I don't have is adaptive cruise, auto headlight brights, and lane keep assist. I figured I had just about every sensor needed?

Sounds like we have similar builds. All i needed for Lane Keep was the front radio bezel with the physical buttons and the AlphaOBD changes. Lane Keep worked perfectly. I added the Parking stuff, mostly just because I had that Parking button there also. I still haven't done the Adaptive Cruise stuff, but I have all the parts already, just need some time...but you already have the DASM and all the really hard stuff.

I talked to a guy on YouTube with a TRX, he said the same thing. As long as I have the DASM I just need the switch and a program. I should be trying this soon so I'll post my results.

If you have a TRX, all you need is switch and programming. If you don’t have a TRX, you will also need the abs module and HCU. Call any dealership parts department and they can confirm for you what abs module part number you currently have.

I should have all of that because of the pedestrian auto brake and collision avoidance. Isn't that the same function in the ABS?

No, as we already found out earlier in this thread.
I see now. The function of the FCW and ACC is different based on gradual braking. Bummer, I thought I had what I needed.

Hi Stepan,

I tried to go through and find if you said but I’m having an issue you had and didn’t see where you were able to solve it. When I try to run the procedures “longitudinal acceleration sensor calibration” and “sensor cluster calibration” they fail. How did you fix that? I have both android and windows versions of Alfa and have force connected 2013 for the acceleration sensor.
Thanks!

Do You have a key or button in "RUN" position, during programming?

Thank you for the reply, I was actually just coming back to edit my post and mention that I realized I had it in ACC and think all the codes have cleared! Still have to install the button in the steering wheel and enable functionality for final test.

So I have tested and everything is functional for ACC! I tried to enable the pedestrian braking and I can’t find this option in Alfa CustSetMenu 3: Pedestrian Emergency Brake CSM Present- YES. Anyone have any advice? Thanks for all the help and the great write up.
