How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

You definitely need the physical button because that’s how you turn the system on and off.
That's what I was thinking. At least the settings showed up so I'm headed the right way. Now I just have to fins a center stack that has the button for LKA but not the park assist, and also has the ventilated seat buttons. That's proving to be the biggest challenge for this portion of it.

My center stack has the Lane Assist and Park Assist button. Park assist button does not work and it doesn't show errors. So you could get one with it unless you don't want a non-functional button.

Does your center gauge display show the menu for lane sense? You should also be able to activate auto hi-beams.

I was hoping to avoid having an unused button, but it's not the end of the world if it's there.

I've got the 2 setting for the lane sense showing up on the radio now, I just need the hard key.

The truck already had the auto high beams since it came with the dasm for the fcw system.

I already am planning on adding rain-sensing wipers due to have the wiring, just need to replace the sensor and enable it in Alfaobd. Wanted to add automatic high beams since Alaska's winters are dark, but want to do this upgrade later down the road. Does the mirror listed 68325128AA also have automatic high beams, if so will I have any error codes changing the mirrors before this upgrade is done or will the mirror 68312206AA also work for this project?

Thanks in Advance

Looks like 68325128AA is the one that works with the DASM, but will not control the high beams on its own. 68312206AA is the mirror for just auto high beams as it has a camera mounted on it and only controls the lights. The one with the camera on it will not work with the DASM, so if you plan on adding the DASM later, I would hold off on the mirror with the camera unless you want to have to switch it out later on.

I believe it must be somehow possible to add lane assist button to existing 12" center stack. Hope somebody will find a way and share details.

You can’t just add the button, you need to swap out the 12” screen for one that has it.

Yea the button is integrated into the bezel its not a separate piece. Worse case you sell your current one to get your money back.

@Jimmy07 any chance of jumping a set of terminals to mimic the switch being permanently on, or is it run over canbus and not that simple?

It’s on canbus, and the circuit board up top is completely missing circuits for the button.

You are 100% right, did my homework Yesterday. New center stack Part Number: 68420967AD is the only solution. https://www.moparpartsinc.com/p/Ram_2021_1500/CENTER-STACK-Upper/78291403/68420967AD.html And Yes to sale my own on ebay will reduce total costs.
Lol, you failed your assignment. That part number does not have the lane sense button, only the hazard. 68312620AG has the lane assist and parallel park buttons. 68456007AA has only the lane assist button. As you can see, the lane assist only option screen is about $400 more than the screen that has both both lane assist and parallel park buttons, so might as well get that one.

Jimmy07, Thank You very much for Your continues support! I had some doubts, because description is a bit tricky. For 68456007AA description is matching, but on the picture different part is shown https://www.moparpartsinc.com/p/90881875/68456007AA.html 68312620AG for $468.60 seems to be a good deal. As I understood is only display and radio and NAV are in different module, just to make sure I will not miss my NAV after replacement.

You can buy the center stack with buttons without buying the 12" screen. 68312620AG

That part number IS the 12” screen. That’s the only way to get a different button layout where the hazard button is because they are integrated into the 12” display unit.

Wow, I can't belive it is that cheap. I was expecting to it to be over $1000 for just the screen.

Seems my truck had the DASM. I’d be interested in adding the ACC as I’ve heard that is one of the nicer features of these trucks and I already use cruise control quite a bit. Curious how involved it would be to add that. Nice work to the OP and those involved on this!

You're in the same situation as me. I'm trying to figure out if the ABS and HCU unit in my truck will work for ACC. I'm not having much luck finding any info on the part number. If you get a chance, I'd be curious to see if your truck has the same one as mine. If you have alfaobd you can check it, or you can look in the driver's side wheel well and see the part number on the module itself.

Can you post a picture of the part? I’ll go take a look at my truck for ya.
