Front end clunk while turning - FIXED - TSB # 23-047-18

Mine is a Dec2018 build if I remember the paperwork correctly.

1500 laramie crew cab
4x4 off road package
6'4" bed (if that matters)

no air suspension

I have the clunk. Going to get it checked out in the next week or so but it seems like it may be the sway bar links if mine doesn't qualify for the TSB referenced in the title above?
Mine was a Nov build so I dont believe it fits the TSB dates but I told them it's been an issue and to look at them closer so they did. Seems to have fixed it for me. TSB would make it easier tho.

Awesome - I'll start here then! thanks!! Loving the truck otherwise!

Yes anyone having the clunk with a build after what is in the TSB or had the TSB performed and still has a noise I am telling you it’s the sway bar end links. If you hear a noise while driving like a rattle and clunking constantly tell them to replace the sway bar end links
mine was built in 03/2018 and has the clunk will this qualify under the TSB?

Not sure- but you're obviously still under warranty so even if there isn't a specific TSB for it, they can still do the fix. Get someone to sway your car side to side while you stare at your end links, you'll notice that the clank/clunk matches up perfectly with the times when the bar is hitting the links if it is in fact the problem

truck has a little over 700 miles on it now and now it's a noticeable rattle. Almost sounds like i have an empty little trailer hitched up and i'm driving it up a ****ty gravel road haha

really hoping this is the sway bar end links since it seems we could replicate the sound just by jumping on the running boards and making the car sway back and forth

If that's how you duplicate ate it then yes it is the sway bar end links. I did the same exact thing to duplicate mine as well as you can hear it if you quickly turn the steering wheel.

awesome, going into the service dept in two days and I'm hoping it will be as easy as replacing those end links then. The rattling is definitely getting annoying and I have had it for only a few days

Yes.. its VERY annoying. I couldn't stand it.

One last question... did it ever get bad enough for you that sometimes just coasting you'd get the rattle without even having to turn the wheel?

The rattle for me was so bad that driving straight i would hear it. I wouldn’t have to do anything to make it happen it just was there.

ok yep. Then it must be the same as what I have then - the moment of truth is tomorrow morning. But yes, at first I would hear it only when turning in neighborhood roads, now it's all the time even when going straight with no steering input. REALLY have high hopes sway bar end links fix it! ready to have a truck that is at its 100%

Mine just keeps getting worse. It's really disconcerting.
There is a fix so take it in and get it taken care of and take advantage of me being without my truck for a month so you don't have to

Already took it in and they replaced a bunch of components (bushings, bolts, isolators). I drove a rental Dodge Caravan for the week they had it. They know it isn't fixed, said they had to order more parts and do some research into star cases for an answer. They're supposed to call me when the parts come in.

The popping is really loud, I can feel it, and I get the impression that it has to be damaging something as it continues to get worse.

For the few weeks I didn't have this problem, I fell in love with this truck. Now I'm increasingly becoming unhappy with this relationship.

I was the same way. Got very negative almost traded for a limited f150 but once I got it back and it was fixed I was happy again and haven’t had a problem since.

Give them a chance to fix it. I was ready to get out of the ram and never look back and now since it’s fixed I can’t see my self driving anything else.

At least they are trying to fix it and not saying they can’t replicate or don’t know what to do. Can’t really be upset with that.

I didn’t have my truck a month.

To update....

Mine was loose sway bar end links. It literally took longer for me to drop it off and pick it up than it did for them to fix it more than likely.

It be real or placebo effect but the truck is even driving a little more firm/controlled in a good way. If i liked this truck before, I like it even more now.

Sorry to those who haven't had as easy a time as this to fix it! I know it definitely gets annoying to hear a rattle on a brand new truck!

Did they replace them or just tighten them? Any concerns that they'll loosen up again?
