Curious, On the ones that have dealt with the cracked manifold issues; how often have you towed on the truck?

Dunno, a half dozen times a year.. only two longer trips though. Took the 24x8.5 (10k rated) enclosed trailer from South Jersey to TN & back April 2021, then to 'slower lower' MD and back Jun of 2021. All the rest have been helping someone move, car/bike broke down, etc locally.

The Manifold didn't let go though till more recently.

Is anyone interested in pursuing a class action on this issue? Just off phone with FCA representative and they will not even help at all even though they acknowledge that there are many of these similar issues with the same model truck year after year.

They were covered on my 4th gen under the powertrain warranty at 55k when a couple studs sheared off. Heres to hoping 🤞
I was just told that powertrain does not cover it...only basic warranty

Yeah, Fed law requires emission equipment warranty thru 150k miles. Exhaust is untreated if escaping thru crack before cats.

Called today to schedule a service visit to see what my exhaust tick is - 7/20 earliest available.

My 2019 had a cracked manifold. Make sure you stay on them to look at it, my dealer tried to shrug it off because "the bolts weren't loose and we've never seen them crack."

You can't mistake the smell and sound, I finally got mine fixed and am still fighting with RAM to reimburse me for the deductible on this repair. I initially brought it in under the powertrain, which would have covered it!

Might want to double check that. This is warranty info right from RAM's website for a 2020 1500 gasser.

sent it to the case specialist. She told me it was NOT covered beyond 36,000 miles and I am out of Goodwill miles at (currently 77,500); however, this issue was reported to dealer at 70,000 miles, so if powertrain is 65k, certainly you would think they could at least split costs!

Do you have a citation for the 150k miles?

I agree, powertrain SHOULD cover it. Even though mine is barely out. @RamCares

Powertrain is 5yr / 60k for a gasser. If reported at 70k then you were SOL either way.

How do I get todays date and mileage at 34,000 recognized as the warranty mileage if the dealer can't get it in till the end of July, when I will be over 36k? I will get an oil change at this dealer before 36k, but an oil change kid isn't "qualified" to listen for the ticking, and they won't let a tech come over and have a listen. I even asked at the last oil change.

Hi!

We have a couple recommendations for you to assist with your warranty mileage. The first would be to check around at a few other dealerships to see if there are any sooner appointments.

The second would be to start a case with us so that we can document this for you. If you're interested in doing that, please send us a direct message!

I will be reluctant to open a case before giving them a chance to do the right thing. Seems like a negative connotation. I don’t think anyone is going to get me in sooner, so I plan to grab the service manager and push his nose into it.

Thanks for responding, I hope I don’t need you?😄

I have 20k miles.
I have a 2022 Laramie With 2800 miles on it. I started noticing the "Hemi tick" about 400 miles ago.
However, since I am not near my home, the dealer here said they can't start the warranty process without making it hard on my home dealer.
I have to wait another 6 weeks before I can start the process...

This local dealer said it is now a common issue because the factory is over torquing the bolts and cracking the headers.
