Just this afternoon this happened to me. I was at the light stopped and eTorque Start and stop applied. I lifted off the brake and engine would not start nothing happened. I pushed the pedal the truck started & jerked forward. Check engine light came on and Capital A with arrow circle around A was yellow with yellow !. Pulled over turned truck off and restarted check engine light stayed on and start stop feature does not work now.

I dropped the vehicle off and they did a diagnosis of the vehicle and determined that LED lights for the rear bumper that I installed caused the battery to be at 40%. This voided the repair of the vehicle and I need to pay the $159 diagnostics fee so far. Not happy as this device is not constantly on only can be used when vehicle is one.

The dealership stated that the battery is only holding 40% charge and after removing the ground for the LED light the battery still would not be excepting a charge so they replaced the battery under warranty and I was charged the Diagnostic charge of $159. The battery since it was only holding 40% this would effect the start stop function.

22 5.7 etorque. Happened to me today. Started to turn at stop sign and engine died, e brake engaged.

I check this forum everyday, hoping that someone will be able to find the root cause and remedy.

It sounds like the issue still exists in the 2022 model.

I think there is a correlation between the rear window issues and water interfering with some of the electronics behind the rear seat.

Did you check your rear window for leaks. It may not be obvious at first.

I did not even realize a had a rear window issues until I experienced the phantom shut-down and application of the e-brake.

I am concerned that you will run into the same issues as many of us when we bring it to the dealership for diagnosis.

They are not able to replicate the issue and they are not seeing any error codes. As many of us have stated, this is not acceptable. I do not know what recourse we have.

I am waiting for the RF Hubs to become available and plan to change it on my own dime - just in case. I am thinking about sealing the connections with Silicon, so that WHEN the window leaks again, water will not penetrate the RF Hub.

Maybe RAM knows about the issue and they are redesigning the RF Hub. That is why they have been back-ordered for 4 months:(

I checked today and I didn't see any leaks or wetness on the floor.

OK - I would advise checking again in the future.

Are you going to bring the vehicle to your dealer??

It must still be under warranty.

One of the Dealers across the country must have some "Star" technicians that truly diagnose this issue.

There has to be an answer.

I am waiting for a part to arrive for the dealer to fix another issue on the truck that is taking them 7 times to try to diagnose. This new situation will be explained to them when I bring it in. 5000 miles and already these issues. It's ridiculous.

Well I brought it up to the dealership and he claimed he's never heard of this issue......riiiiight

I have a 2021 5.7 eTorque and had this same issue, stalled making a right hand turn at around 5-7MPH. I took it to the dealer and they found a TSB and updated the PCM, I'll post if it happens again.

tsb 18-091-22 rev a -- 18-091-22 REV. A RAM Technical Service Bulletin

Mechanics notes:
"checked for codes in system and found nothing tied to engine performance. checked for tsb and star case and found tsb for engine stall out. updated pcm as directed by tsb and drove to reset all obd monitors. operating as designed"

Hasn't happened since?

2021 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab, e-torque. The truck randomly turns off, happened to me once and my wife twice. When it shuts off the brake auto engages! As it should, but this shut off deal alot of people are experiencing is going to cause an accident. Of course the dealer can't find any codes, can't find any problems and cannot get the truck to stall on their 3 mile drive.
My 2015 Outdoorsman did it three times at 65 plus mph. Same thing, no codes. A friend of mine a FCA tech back in Indiana said he thought it would end up being there...before I traded it. They spent three days trying to figure it out then said it would be about two weeks till a scheduled engineer was coming in... This was in June of 2021 when used car prices were going off the charts. They offered me close to 30K on it with 70K miles and the undiagnosable problem... The year before it was worth less than 20K AND, a 2021 Built to Serve was sitting there in Billet Silver looking good. They did have it for the two weeks waiting for the engineer and apparently, it ended up being in the ignition system...

Anyone know if this “fix” is applied from new trucks now? Or should I have the dealer check when my truck comes in?

Well picked up the truck from the dealer for their 7th attempt to fix a different issue and was told no codes were thrown so there isn't much they can do regarding the engine shutting off. Pathetic.
