Apparently they fixed it! At least they claim to... I am overseas until Tuesday. I will take a picture of the protocol on what was done when I get back. But sounded like FCA now know what's the issue...

Still dealing with this damn tone. Ram refuses to put in new radio unless they can get a code. Dealership cannot duplicate. UConnect admitted this is the only Ram they know of that has this issue. I told them this is definitely not software since I'm the only one affected and no one that writes code is going to do it for one truck. I told them this Friday either fix it or they owe me a new truck. Been dealing with this since a couple of weeks after I bought it. Bought it in September. Total nightmare had the vehicle in many times since last post. Engineering does not know what is causing problem. One engineer thinks it is my amplifier or cables running to or from it but yet refuse to replace since I already had my amp replaced. I either don't listen to my radio now or only turn it on so I can barely here it. When tone comes on it is over the top of the music so it is very loud. Can't even listen to it at the volumes I would like since it hurts my ears. Tone comes on very randomly. It came on last time at the exact same time as a weather advisory came on my screen.

I am not sure if I am hearing the tone correctly but it sounds like the parksense tone. Next time you hear it, try shutting off front/rear parksense one at a time using the toggle switches (lower center dash). These trucks definitely have issues with parksense and I’m wondering if you are getting the noise but it’s just not triggering the visual on your dash.

This has to be crazy annoying. Can @RamCares have this escalated?

Thanks for the suggestion. I am not sure if I have tried turning off the Parksense while this has been happening. I might have tried it, but will do again. I think it is Parksense related too and have had many issues with my backup camera and parksense randomly shutting off going down my driveway. (Dealership says it is reading the cracks in my driveway). I already have a star case open and have had this escalated. Engineering has been working with dealer. Backing down my driveway I sometimes get this message "ParkSense Rear Braking Assist Off" I get this message come on my screen sometimes backing down my driveway without me touching anything. If I go to hit the button for shutting off the parksense it says the same message, but with the word "off" twice (ParkSense Rear Braking Assist Off Off"). Again dealership says cameras reading the cracks in my drive. I have had an update to the Parksense and backup camera system performed.

To me it is not just annoying but a safety concern. I think the tone of the Parksense is supposed to have high pitch (going from yellow to red light on dash) and be louder than the radio to get your attention. Imagine that you have your favorite song, band, or radio station cranked up on the radio and this tone comes on randomly louder than the music which you are listening to. It has happened to me and is painful (not joking here). This is why I only listen now at low levels. I don't want to make my ears bleed and get into an accident.

Update on case. I had the tone again this week and drove the truck over to the dealer so they could hear it too. After several days got an update that it is my radio causing the problem and finally was issued a new radio. I was supposed to get a new radio several months ago and then Ram changed their mind and refused to send one out to dealership. I was told it is definitely the radio, but I fear that even after a new radio it will reappear. Also got an update that Ram refused to buy back. Thank Ram. Being told that you are the only Ram owner to have this problem, but yet refuse to take back the product really makes a customer feel appreciated and makes me think that I will be well taken care of for the remainder of my warranty. I hope the fix works.

Update on case. New radio installed with added scratches around phone charging area. Not happy. The next morning started truck and had no audio so I shuffled through inputs and radio came on. I guess new update not on this radio. I will have to make another appointment for scratches and several other issues. Hopefully the horrible tone is now gone.

Did the new radio fix work? I watched your posted video and I am having the exact issue. Beyond frustrated. It’s a 2019 Laramie Crew Cab with 1100 miles on it so far.

Yes it did. I thought I was the only one on earth who had it. Very frustrating experience. I have not heard it since the new radio was installed.

I have the same problem with my 2019 Ram Laramie. It is the Parksense that generates the problem. It has happened three times now despite the dealer applying all updates. The only thing that works to get it to turn off is leaving the truck off for hours.
Please everyone chime in here so Ram will listen to us and prepare the dealers to know how to deal with this issue.

M 2019 sport just made that noise for the last hour. Tried shutting of the truck and turning it back on but it continues. Am/fm/siruis allade the constant buzzing.

I had to drive with the system off.

Any further insight would be appreciated

Thanks

Guys with this problem you need a new radio. The tone has not returned since the new radio was installed. I was told it was not the parksense it was the radio.

Mine just started doing this today. Same exact tone over the speaker(s) as posted in Get N Dirty’s video earlier in this thread. 2019 Big Horn with 8.4” Uconnect radio. It happened for the first time when I switched radio stations. Now it won’t stop.

@chrisfuss and I are experiencing the same issue. A high pitch squeal (not loud, but def noticeable if you're idling) from the rear speakers in the back seat whenever the ambient lighting is on (like when it's dark outside). The workaround is to completely turn down your ambient lighting roller dial (next to your headlight control). Thankfully it's an easily reproducible issue, and pretty annoying, so I'll have my dealer take a look during my first regular servicing.
My truck is also making this high pitch noise when ambient lighting is on. It goes away when ambient lighting is turned off. Is there a solution to this yet?

I experienced this for the 3rd or 4th time today (since purchasing my truck just over a year ago). Get N Dirtys video is exactly what I’m experiencing. Switching inputs, toggling the park sense buttons, turning the truck off and on won’t make it go away. Had to leave my truck off for over an hour before it went back to normal. Super annoying. The next time it happens I’m driving straight to the dealer so they can hear it. It’s so infrequent and unpredictable I doubt they will ever be able to reproduce it if I leave it with them. Is there a starcase or TSB I can reference when taking it in?
