Hello members,
My name is Philip and I have been lurking these forums since I had my eyes set on a 2019 Ram 1500, needing a full size truck, and seeing the incentives offered. After months of looking around I finally pulled the trigger on a lease for a 2019 Ram 1500 BigHorn Crew cab V6 eTorque. It is equipped with level 1 package and towing package. My initial impressions of the truck were that is was extremely comfortable, smooth, spacious, and enough tech to keep me satasfied with the level 1 equipment. Satisfied but the 12” screen has caught my eye. Anyway after reviewing theee forums deeper after pulling thb trigger and putting 5-600 miles on the truck, within the first 3/4 weeks, I realized that I unfortunately suffered almost all the issues other members have, on top of unacceptable dealer service. The truck has loud squeal upon every startup, windshield whine/whistle (speed above 30), fitment issues and panel gaps in the interior/ window trim. The mirrors did not fold correctly until a week in ownership. When I brought the truck for the repairs, I returned to the dealership one month later to be almost assualted by the car porter (I guess I don’t look trustworthy or a person who would own a 45K truck. As this altercation costed me time and ruined my mood, being that there was no manager present. I grab the paperwork and sign without having my service advisor go over what was done to the truck in this month span. Additionally the truck was there to be detailed, as I purchased it after the detail crew left, and to make the situation better I found a couple of new scratches on the door and bed. The sales rep takes pictures and tells me the manager will call me to arrange to bring the truck for touch up when there repair crew is there. Once I arrived home (27 miles ), I review the paperwork and find that all my problems were confirmed, however no details on repairs done were notated. TO MAKE MATTERS EVEN WORSE, the mileage out on the paper was actually the mileage the truck came in with. The truck came in with 721 miles and I picked it up with 848. I was never told my truck would be driven nor did I give permission. It certainly explains the scratches. I’ve called the service manager 7 times and have left for a month vacation. I was hoping to leave the truck at the dealer during the vacation and give them a chance to make things right, but after all this disregard, inconvenience, and lies I am completely frustrated.
- In 4 Weeks;
no repairs were made
No recalls were done
- More issues have arised:
Front and rear suspension squeal
UConnect system glitching (ex: not turning on, time being displayed incorrectly(sometimes goes backwards)
AC blows worse somehow, warm and humid even more, than before it was taken in!!
I do not know what to do anymore and have run out of time and patience to go without the truck I have been paying for. The manager did not even have the decency to return my multiple calls over 3 weeks. On top of the neglectful, disrespectful, and deceiving treatment I have received from my dealer. I am at a lost for words. Does Ram/FCA compensate for this sort of situation? I would like to get a replacement vehicle after all these issues and hassles. What are my options besides just lemoning it?
Thank you and sorry for the long post!
I like the truck fundamentally but these serious issues are becoming a burden in every aspect.

I don't know, man. Don't take this the wrong way but you sound like a bit of a kook :p . I've never been assaulted, nor near assaulted, at any car dealership for any reason whatsoever, and if I had I wouldn't be leaving without talking to the dealership manager/owner. That you took off with incorrect paperwork and stuff not done because your "mood was ruined" really makes you sound crazy. Aside from that, why would you:

1. Accept a truck with fitment issues - didn't you check the vehicle before you took delivery?
2. Get a truck so late that it wasn't cleaned up?

My suggestion would be to buy your lease out early and get into something that won't make you feel so aggravated. Life is too short to be assaulted by car porters and have technicians put 120 miles on your vehicle without your permission.

I’m sorry that you feel this way but please keep your uneducated suggestions to yourself. Thanks. There are enough idiots in my life I do not need more. I don’t have time to write that post to troll. It’s sad to see this reaction on a truthful post to every degree. I decided to make an account to be able to view other member pictures, post my own, and see what other members did to resolve their issue and if Ram Care had an opinion.

You've got to admit that without some more detail, your story sounds fishy. What does "almost assaulted" mean? He gave you a mean look? Why were you dealing with the lot porter at all? Did you just walk back to where the service vehicles are stored and try to drive off with your truck? Why wouldn't you have gone to the service department first, discuss what was fixed, and let them bring the truck around for you? Did you go back to pick it up because they called you to tell you it was done, or did you just feel like it had been there long enough?

Sucks that you've got so many issues with the truck, but it sounds like there's a lot more to the story.

If you’re frustrated I get it. If you want to rant that’s fine but the majority on the forum are enthusiasts who like to engage in conversations to solve problems, make modifications, share stories, pics, etc. Your post lacks sufficient details for us to be able to give you advice and help troubleshoot each issue, if that’s what you’re looking for. If you can tick through each issue, provide as much detail as possible, we can try and give you thoughts, point you in the right direction, etc, if it’s a known issue. You can also send a private message to @RamCares and give them a detailed account of your issues and they will document and assist you with your next appt at the dealership.

I can’t imagine dropping a vehicle off for a month without having a plan for service or even checking in on it. Maybe that’s just me.

I agree. If my brand new vehicle is going in for a month, there will be regular phone calls, discussions with the service manager both during and at pickup, etc. There has to be a chain of accountability.

I think what SpeedyV is saying is that you should have been checking more on your vehicle and you should not have left the dealership without a plan. I noticed on your profile it says you are 22 years old. If that is correct, consider what happened to be a learning experience that you will not let happen again to you. If you are old and grey, like me , just chalk it up to “ a senior moment”!

LOL. How educated do you think anyone else's opinion is going to be based on your post? What the hell does "almost assaulted" even mean? He took a swing at you but missed? Threw a chair at you, Jerry Springer style, but you ducked?

You made an account to do all that neat stuff but all I see is a *****-fest on how bad FCA sucks. I'm all for solving problems but most of yours seem to be self-inflicted Barney Fife gunshots to the foot!

In any case, I meant what I said. You should just terminate your lease early and move on if this truck doesn't do it for you. Even if you lost $5k doing so, it's cheap insurance for your sanity in the grand scheme of life. If I could go back in time I'd tell younger me to not worry about things too much, and that sometimes buying back your peace of mind costs money that you won't even remember you spent 5 years from now. Your problem is you want your problems to be solved, and for free. This is creating chaos in your brain. The dealer won't solve your problems for free, so you are going through anguish. Bite the bullet and take the hit, or quit worrying about stuff. The truck is under lease AND under warranty. If it breaks down, they have to fix it.

I can tell you one thing--if I was almost assaulted by a dealership employee, I would almost raise hell! The guy should be almost fired at the very least, possibly almost spend some time in jail, and I would definitely make sure the dealership almost did something to compensate me.

Sounds like a troll thread to be honest. First post from a new member. Sorry if I am wrong. Maybe it is a language barrier? Some of your terms and ways of explanation make me feel like I am reading an e-mail from my friend in Zimbabwe who needs help moving his recently acquired inheritance. ;)
I got two sentences in and I just can’t.

Paragraphs please!
Im currently out of the states and thus am tired and not in my zone. I am a car fanatic and don’t get me wrong this is nothing to do with the FCA but to bring attention to these major issues. These trucks are documented to have issues and as you all stated, we must give and take. I drop my Mercedes off and they know to call me for every little detail, down to if I want the interior cleaned because they don’t wash the outside. However this whole ordeal is situational.

LOL. Hey, I get it - I was once young, dumb, and you know the rest of the saying. I just don't get beating your head on a wall. Life is too short to put up with something you really can't stand. Most of these guys raise hell because they want their problem solved but they don't want to throw money at solving it. Sometimes in life things just go poorly. Why kill yourself with stress when just taking a hit and trading it in, selling it or buying out of the lease would solve the problem? If you have those kinds of problems out of a vehicle a day, a week, a month in, imagine how it's going to be 2-3-5-7 years from now!

The problem is they want life to be fair, and life isn't fair. Sometimes you buy a lemon. Sometimes someone drinks your milkshake. Crying, wailing, and gnashing your teeth won't change that fact, so to me it seems pointless to wish in one hand and crap in the other when you know which hand will fill up faster :D

I would appreciate if you would stop with your passive aggressive comments. I am not automatically “dumb” for being young. Just as you are not automatically smart for being older. And let me know how many 22 year old idiots are leasing brand new trucks. This isn’t my first second or even third vehicle. I’m not your average Ram owner or 22 year old. Anyway this isn’t about me. This forum isn’t about me either. It’s about the trucks. I appreciate those comments with suggestions and help. I don’t understand the insults I have received, but nothing surprises me anymore.

While I don't want to take away from the OP's issues; I will add some satire to the situation. jdmartin, you are speaking with many years of experience behind you!!! To get the yout's to see that wisdom is sometimes the most difficult challenge in the world...ask me how I know my kids my nieces and nephews!!! I have always tried to put myself in the other person's position to understand why, what came out of their mouth, etc... One of the most important parts of understanding is placing yourself in that age and stage of things/perspectives in life at that moment to see how/what they are/were thinking.

I tell my kin folk and anyone who will listen all the time about the potholes in the road of life to avoid if they want the advice or hit the pothole let it rip your tire, leave you stranded at that time and age of your understanding.

Bottom line I hope the OP gets issues handled by RAMCARE.

Damn youts!!! I just talked to my Great-Nephew, just got married at age 20 ugh.....then before I said anything to him, I thought back to myself and laughed---I was 20 in the ARMY and got married!!!

Here is the fun part about the yout's (from the movies My Cousin Vinny).

Wow, “passive aggressive “. Any who, please share the name of the dealership with us.
