AlfaOBD Known Changes 5th Gen

I still have performance page on the dash cluster, is that always there or was that added by alfa too? I can't remember.
I'm pretty sure that got added when the pages were added on the 12.1.
I lost the pages but have a couple of the items in the cluster - roll/pitch, 0-60&0-100. Would trade that last one for the altitude - that was very useful.

I was also thinking about just buying the airbag module but I don't think it worked even with a new BCM for the 19-20s. I suspect that something is missing for them to work. Mine is just like that and sometimes nothing comes out.

When mine worked, there was a noticeable difference between high and low. High was almost too hot sometimes. Low was just enough to take the chill off the leather steering wheel but not uncomfortable to hold onto

I'm curious about the VTA settings. Does close the proximity of a working FOB disable the VTA? I was considering placing a FOB in a Faraday Cage (blocks RF) and hiding it inside the vehicle. I have a standard mechanical key that can unlock the door. I had planned to hide it somewhere on the outside of the vehicle. My current thinking is that only the FOB can disable the VTA; unlocking the vehicle with the key would let me inside it but not disable the alarm. I am unsure if I could hide a FOB inside a Faraday Cage outside the vehicle - but may be the only solution to get in the vehicle without tripping the VTA. Thoughts? Thanks!

I see the problem now, and I didn’t pay attention to it before-
It’s not “Comfort” you select, it’s “Driver Seat”. Then select heated seats 2013+.
I just updated both my windows and android versions, and they both connect on both my trucks (DT 1500 and 2500).
@Jimmy07 I finally had time to attempt changing the comfort activation temps by selecting and I'm still getting the same error. Here's what I did:

Here I selected "drivers seat"

Then I selected "heated seat module 13+"

Then it attempted to connect:

And finally got the same error message:

When I get some time, I'll email Alfa the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

Let's retrace our steps. I said I use the TazerDT as my SGW bypass and like the added live features. Wasn't directed at you, required no peanut gallery comments.

You said it has to stay plugged in to use the live features, which is a given, making it sound like that was an issue. Then go on to say you like a "one and done" approach and not having to worry about issues at dealer.

I mentioned I have made several dealer visits without removing it, and it never was an issue. So wasn't something I "have to" unplug.

Then you make a comment about me being argumentative, in order to make it sound like you weren't an active participant in the back and forth, and try and discredit me and my opinion

You then follow that up with a post, actually describing what you use, which you hadn't done before, so there was no "pointing out the differences", merely stating why you don't like the TazerDT. In said post, I comes to light they you do actually have to plug/unplug you bypass cable in order to use it, meaning it's not "one and done". And part of that involves hiding it up under the dash, and then digging it out when needed.

For someone trying to call me out for arguing, you sure we're active in the conversation, and seems like you are one who likes to get in the "last word".

I leave my security by pass connected all the time, I just tuck the OBD connectors behind the plastic trim by the parking brake. Never had a dealer question it. I used a Tazer on my 2023 Rubicon but never left it plugged in for any of the "gizmo" features. Really just needed it for the tire size change.

Thanks to @Jimmy07 for this one
*Dependant on year model for this to work, I do not think it will work for 2019's not sure about others, try if you like.

Make the upper and lower LED accent strips the DRLs (no other lights on). They will only come on in gear, they will be brighter than they were as accent lighting, the accent strips will “drop out” on the side that the turn signal is being used on, and they can be toggled on/off in the radio settings.

The accent lights can’t be toggled on/off via any type of setting equipped on the truck, but you can disable them with AlfaOBD by setting CBC Extern.Light Calib. Signature light present to NO.
If you want to configure the accent lights to be the DRLs (only come on in gear), and to be brighter than what they are from factory, make the following changes:
CBC Features DRL Configuration- OPTIONAL
CBC Features DRL Lamp Location- DEDICATED
CBC Features DRL Dropout Enabled- YES
CBC Extern.Light Calib. Signature Light Present- NO
CBC Extern.Light Calib. Left Side (and right side) DRL Voltage Target- 7.4 (but can be raised)
CustSetMenu 1 daytime running lights CSM Present- YES

Hey team,

I'm trying to get the accent/signature lights to drop out when the turn signal's on. I've followed the instructions above but it's not working. If I set "CBC Extern.Light Calib. Signature Light Present- NO", the accent lights don't come on at all during the day. I tried changing it to "yes" and they're on all the time.

Any ideas as to why?

Oh, and interesting find... my Voltage was at 12.2 as the default...

Cheers
Paul

Only for 2023+.
CustSetMenu 3: Unintended Idle Alert- NO
I tried on my 2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn Limited with AlfaOBD and the CustSetMenu 3 was already set at NO. Beep>Beep>Beep still happens. You can hold the key fob against the rear door glass as you close the front door and the horn doesn’t honk 3 times.

Yep, that’s why I said only for 2023+…

I know reading if fundamental, all I was doing is to verify it doesn’t work on a ‘22. Plus I had tried this over a week ago, before Jimmy07 posted this.
