AlfaOBD Known Changes 5th Gen

Hey team,

I'm trying to get the accent/signature lights to drop out when the turn signal's on. I've followed the instructions above but it's not working. If I set "CBC Extern.Light Calib. Signature Light Present- NO", the accent lights don't come on at all during the day. I tried changing it to "yes" and they're on all the time.

Any ideas as to why?

Oh, and interesting find... my Voltage was at 12.2 as the default...

Cheers
Paul

CBC Extern.Light Calib.: Signature Light Present- YES
CBC Extern.Light Calibr.: Signature Dropout Enabled- YES

CBC Extern.Light Calib.: Signature Light Present- YES
CBC Extern.Light Calibr.: Signature Dropout Enabled- YES
Hmmm, still not working even with the extra field of "CBC Extern.Light Calibr.: Signature Dropout Enabled- YES" (was set to NO).

What are you trying to do with the signature lamps, and what do you think that setting is supposed to do?

I was under the impression it was possible to have the signature lights on as DRLs but they would drop out when the turn signal was operating... have I mis-understood if this is possible?
If I have got it wrong then I'll go back to the turn signals as the DRLs :)

You can't set signature lights as DRLs.

That’s definitely what that setting is supposed to do, and is what it does on my truck- if you turn on, say, the left turn signal, then the left signature lamp will turn off while the left turn signal is flashing.

He doesn’t mean “setting” the signature lights as DRLs, but rather, turning the DRLs off, and using the signature lights as DRLs instead.

Maybe I'm using the incorrect terminology then. I'm referring to the white light strips above and below the headlight. I currently have them as my DRLs. If I set "CBC Extern.Light Calib.: Signature Light Present- YES" they're on as DRLs, if I set them to NO they don't come on at all.

Well, bugger... :(
I'll double check the settings again (for the 4th or 5th time!) I'm not above missing something more than once!
Thanks.

I think the confusion is calling them DRLs. They may be on, but RAM didn't consider them DRLs.

So I found the problem. The DRL option in the vehicle settings was enabled (always was) but at some stage it was turned off. I'm guessing it reset at some point when I was "playing" with the AlphaOBD settings.
We all live and learn I guess. Thanks for the help.

I have 2024 Limited and generic ELS27 OBD to USB cable. Every time i connect to do backup or anything else i get:

No data received from ECU/Interface or data corrupted. Try to start the procedure again. If you receive this message too often try to adjust 'Interface Timeout', 'Interrequest time', 'Response-Request time', and 'Request interbyte' parameters. If this will not improve connection stability your interface is probably faulty.

Any ideas? is the cable not good enough for 2024 RAM?

This may be a basic question:
Do you have some form of security gateway cable in use?
If you are directly connecting to the "Factory OBD Port," that may be your problem.
If you are using a security gateway cable, then it is possible that your reader is not able to process commands correctly, not all OBD readers are able to function to read and retrieve data using AlphaOBD. Another possibility is that your gateway cable may be faulty.
I would start with the cheapest option which most likely will be a new cable and retry.
