Wow 120 posts on batteries, lots of comments on how much better AGM's are over old fashioned Flooded Lead Acid batteries and several posts pushing Lithium batteries .
Not once did I see a comment on why everyone thinks the AGM batteries are so superior.
Oh and by the way they are both lead acid batteries and they can take the same charging, the acid is just absorbed into the mat.

That said I prefer the AGM as they have almost no leakage of acid or gases, the terminals and cables on a AGM do not corrode.

And while when I replace the battery in my 2019 it will most likely get the H8 AGM it is not likely to make much difference in it's starting.
Now I am considering a Lithium for my Harley.

This is comparing deep cycle batterys NOT starting batteries
Well all lithiums are deep cycle. plus most lithium have 2-3 times the available starting amps that any lead acid of any type will have. The only time that changes somewhat is deep extreme cold and even there most of the lithiums would only drop to "only" 800 CCA from 1800 or 2000 CCA in normal temperature.

Well my 2021 Limited with 36000 miles on it started doing odd things today. There is a Batteries plus 5 min from my house so I had them install a X2.
Hard to beat a five year warranty.

Just want to give a big thanks for all the contributors to this thread. My 2019 Laramie's battery just died at 35K miles (2.5 years of ownership) here in FL. The wife just picked up an EverStart H8 AGM for me. Should have it installed shortly.

If my truck sits overnight with the new battery, can I expect all electronics to be fully functional around 07:30 tomorrow AM?

Yep, you should be fine.

So do you not need the battery sleeve after you upgrade to the H8 AGM

It’s up to you. With the H8 AGM, I ordered the diesel battery sleeve. I like having it look as OEM as I can.
Picked up a Energizer H8 AGM at Costco. Made by Johnson controls like every battery on the market but… 5 year warranty and 100 month proration. 1000 CA and 900 CCA it should hopefully hold up better in my limited than the stock mopar battery did.
