2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Star Filing,
I have a 2025 Ram 1500 Limited. I've had some issues with I believe a wiring harness along with throttle body issues. My service department is saying that they have had to elevate it to the "Star" Service that communicates directly with Stellantis. Has any one ever heard of the "Star Service"?
It is my understanding that the "star Service" is a method for dealer service departments to request support from Stellantis support team. Dealer create the "Star Ticket" then hopefully within a day or so Stellantis dealer support technicians will respond to the ticket with answers on how to fix the issue. Unfortunately Stellantis let go many of their engineering staff last year so much of the expertise to support the 2025 year models flew out the door. Good news is last I heard from talking to one of the techs is that a few of the key engineers have returned to help us out. Bad news is that many of the service techs in the US have very little knowledge of the electrical systems in the 2025 models since they have been completely redesigned so dealer's will have little experience or knowledge of how to fix them.
You can also call Ram customer service to file a complaint about their product and lack of local knowledgeable support, 800-992-1997.

I emailed Stellantis App people asking why the Phone as a key feature isn't out yet. They said they have no ETA for this feature.:mad::mad::mad:

won't ever happen, they fired a lot of IT ppl to cut costs, maybe 2 or 3y down the road

There are a lot of options to go through and the cameras on woth parksense seems like it keeps turning itself off on mine so I need to investigate a bit more. I always turned of the rear braking on my 21 because it works slam the brakes coming out of my driveway but my 23 and 25 are fine after adjusting the sensitivity which might help you if you haven't already tried that. The on time my 21 slammed on the rear brakes I was on a trail at a friend's house and couldn't figure out what caused it to break suddenly. Got out to investigate and saw a skunk running away and smelled the result of the truck s bring it so bad it sprayed the underside!
I was playing with the "Turn Signal Activated Blind Spot View". Honestly not sure how much I like this yet - but like a lot of other things, I might just need to give it a little time.
However, it seems like this option resets to OFF when I shut the truck off. Anyone else seeing this?

I saw that option in the owner's manual but my truck doesn't appear to have the option. I figured a Laramie with 360 camera would have that since it has the mirror cameras.

You'd think if the cameras are there, the option would be there. Doesn't make a lot of sense, but it wouldn't be the first thing that doesn't make sense.

Has anyone with the Limited Leval A Equipment Group found a decent dash mat with the HUD cutout yet?

Hello. I just purchased a 2025 RHO. Drove home from the Dealer, 10 miles no issue. My wife drove it another 100 miles or so the next day to an event and back with no issues. The next day I drove it 55 miles to work with almost no issues. Getting on thr freeway at 4500 RPM's I got a cruise control error, an automatic emergency breaking issue, and maybe a few other ones. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I got a check engine light, all the same messages on the dash, and it was stuck in gear. Would not shift up or down.

When I left that day, the check engine light was still one, and every time I hit 4500 RPM's it would get stuck in gear until I pulled over. Then it would shift like normal as long as I didn't let RPM's climb to 4500. The next day on the way to the dealer it went into limp mode and every system had a fault. Suspension fault, cruise control fault, braking fault etc. It would barley go 15 mph. I disconnected the batteries , reconnected them and it drove well enough to get to the dealer. CEL never went away.

The Dealer stated the Auxiliary battery was failing a load test , so they replaced both batteries. They claimed that solved the issue and went ahead and replaced a leaking CV boot. (truck only had 200 miles and I've had it 2 days). They called shortly after and said it wasn't fixed and that it was having communication issues. The next day it was believed to be fixed so I went ahead and picked it up. Not even 2 minutes down the road, I hit 4500 Rpms and the check engine light came back and it chimed all the faults, and stuck in gear. I drove it back to the dealer and currently waiting. Sounds like a cam issue. They swapped sensors and that didn't fix it. Hoping for some answers soon.

Ram has shown that hardware does not equal features. It is stricly a software thing and you need to pay Ram for them to give you that feature. My Dad was a TRX with all of the cameras but his doesn't have the feature where it shows the camera when you put on your blinker. The truck is capable of it as far as hardware, but RAM doesn't have that enabled.
My truck has the Phone as a Key feature but Ram hasn't enabled it.

It shouldn't reset to off when you turn the truck off. My truck keeps the feature on at all times. I would disconnect both batteries for about 5 minutes and see if that fixes it. That seems to be the fix for most issues.

Good idea. Have read this solution/fix several places here. To be honest, I'm a bit hesitant. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells. Knock on wood, but this is the only issue I've seen so far (other than the missing key/lock for the bed divider, but sounds like that was another Ram profit decision). I'm actually kind of ok leaving this blinker camera off, so might not mess with batteries for right now. (I know... sounds a little like I'm a voodoo believer.)

His TRX is also older canbus architecture than what the 2025 trucks have. That option wasn't available on any 2024 or older truck.

It actually started as a factory feature on the 2023 HD Rams, along with the park sense activated front camera. All the 2023 and up 1500’s are capable of those features, but have to activate them with alfaobd. The blind spot turn signal camera feature isn’t designed for 1500s with regular mirrors, since their side camera view points straight down to the ground.

First thing about the 2025 model you will discover much like I did that NOT all the mechanics are trained on the new electronics which are completely new for the 2025 models. So most mechanics will approach the issues thinking what they know about the prior models will fix the 2025 issues. You will need to be insistent that the mechanics submit a Star ticket to get manufacturer's help to fix the computer issue, especially if they try to fix it and don't. Especially if you have to take it back a second time for same issue. Be sure to wear your hip waders because you will need them for all the BS they will give you rather than admit they don't know how to fix it and call the manufacture for help.

Currently have a new PCM on order because that's where thr diagnostic tree led them, Star case pointed them in that direction. PCM on back order with a possible release of 2/17. Ram Customer care has been sending me to voicemail all day. A few dealers on the east coast show they have one in stock. I would like to think Dodge could source from them, rather than waiting...

Dealers buy their stock, and have no obligation to share inventory with other dealers. If it's a high demand, or hard to get, item, dealers will want to hold on to their own inventory, in order to keep their own customers happy
