2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Dealers buy their stock, and have no obligation to share inventory with other dealers. If it's a high demand, or hard to get, item, dealers will want to hold on to their own inventory, in order to keep their own customers happy
I understand how Dealerships work. I used to call other dealers all the time and ask if they would sell me parts. My issue is dealers don't even try that anymore. Just order and wait.

Currently have a new PCM on order because that's where thr diagnostic tree led them, Star case pointed them in that direction. PCM on back order with a possible release of 2/17. Ram Customer care has been sending me to voicemail all day. A few dealers on the east coast show they have one in stock. I would like to think Dodge could source from them, rather than waiting...
same story some have been sitting at dealers for months waiting on parts

Because it doesn't matter if they call or not. Dealers aren't selling to other dealers.

I figured out the whole -Siri’s voice won’t stay normal volume- thing.
It’s due to the ‘Siri & Suggestions’ setting “Automatically Send Message.”
Turn it off and Siri’s volume stays were it’s put.

So, I guess it’s an  thing

Not sure. I spoke with the dealership on Friday and Stellantis has them comparing it to another truck with the same options because they aren't able to figure out what the issue is.
So the dealership has no idea what the issue is. Star Service sent an engineer out and he is also not able to find the problem. He states that my truck is the only truck in the nation having this issue. I've reached back out to Customer Care and am pushing for them to buy it back, I've also started looking for a lawyer that specializes in lemon law cases.

Picked this one up the other day!

2025 Ram 1500 Rebel X

Before this truck, I had a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie, owned it for 11 years, had to replace the manifolds, water pump and starter, but besides for that it was a great truck! I just hope that this one will last the same amount of time

It is my understanding that the "star Service" is a method for dealer service departments to request support from Stellantis support team. Dealer create the "Star Ticket" then hopefully within a day or so Stellantis dealer support technicians will respond to the ticket with answers on how to fix the issue. Unfortunately Stellantis let go many of their engineering staff last year so much of the expertise to support the 2025 year models flew out the door. Good news is last I heard from talking to one of the techs is that a few of the key engineers have returned to help us out. Bad news is that many of the service techs in the US have very little knowledge of the electrical systems in the 2025 models since they have been completely redesigned so dealer's will have little experience or knowledge of how to fix them.
You can also call Ram customer service to file a complaint about their product and lack of local knowledgeable support, 800-992-1997.
It’s now 25 days waiting for the “star” people to respond or do anything. Sounds like a great system!

I feel your pain. They are idiots just code readers and parts replacers lol. They are not mechanics anymore. They can't even balance tires right anymore.I have one of the first few rebels to leave factory and my trans is like a bad stick driver when driving slow after three four trips to dealer i gave up. Dont be nice gets no where with these people.

C’mon, man. Slow the hate. Not all techs are like that. Maybe you should swap dealerships🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh, just figured out. Regarding wireless charging and a case: If the case has hand oils or other stuff on it, it can cause the red light. Windex or similar to clean it fixes the issue

This number was magic!!!!
Thank you!

Your right i shouldn't hate.At the same time if there isn't a code they can read to get them going in a direction then the problems begin like your brand new 80k truck sitting at dealership.

Hello. I just purchased a 2025 RHO. Drove home from the Dealer, 10 miles no issue. My wife drove it another 100 miles or so the next day to an event and back with no issues. The next day I drove it 55 miles to work with almost no issues. Getting on thr freeway at 4500 RPM's I got a cruise control error, an automatic emergency breaking issue, and maybe a few other ones. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I got a check engine light, all the same messages on the dash, and it was stuck in gear. Would not shift up or down.

When I left that day, the check engine light was still one, and every time I hit 4500 RPM's it would get stuck in gear until I pulled over. Then it would shift like normal as long as I didn't let RPM's climb to 4500. The next day on the way to the dealer it went into limp mode and every system had a fault. Suspension fault, cruise control fault, braking fault etc. It would barley go 15 mph. I disconnected the batteries , reconnected them and it drove well enough to get to the dealer. CEL never went away.

The Dealer stated the Auxiliary battery was failing a load test , so they replaced both batteries. They claimed that solved the issue and went ahead and replaced a leaking CV boot. (truck only had 200 miles and I've had it 2 days). They called shortly after and said it wasn't fixed and that it was having communication issues. The next day it was believed to be fixed so I went ahead and picked it up. Not even 2 minutes down the road, I hit 4500 Rpms and the check engine light came back and it chimed all the faults, and stuck in gear. I drove it back to the dealer and currently waiting. Sounds like a cam issue. They swapped sensors and that didn't fix it. Hoping for some answers soon.
Sounds just like what I’m going through! 231 miles and it went crazy! Blind spot, airbags, brakes, the whole deal. Lights and warning all over the place. Took it back and they said water in the left tail light. They replaced lens and wiring loom. After about a week in the shop I got it home. So I thought if it was water intrusion then maybe I should run it through the car wash with the undercarriage spray option. Did not get out of the parking lot. 285 miles it went crazy again. I got under the truck to inspect the connectors expecting to find one not properly plugged together but instead I found what I believe to be a design flaw that almost guarantees water intrusion. I pointed it out to the service manager and the tech but they said it was likely a ground issue. So when they called me back and said they had it ready and for me to come and pick it up, I ask if they had sprayed up under it. He said give me 15 minutes and I’ll spray it. 20 minutes later he called me back and told me it went crazy on them right there in the shop. The service manager called the Field Engineer and he opened up a “Star Case”. The connector junction is directly below the driver’s door and mounted to the outside of the frame. Two wiring looms terminate at this junction with the wiring entering the lid assembly from the top. There are cavities where each of the wiring looms enter the assembly and I can’t see how they can help but fill up with water when it’s wet outside. They said Stellantis was working on the issue and they would contact me when a fix was available. In the meantime, they taped it up with some 3M electrical tape and that should do it until they come up with a permanent fix.

pics would be awesome. Is this rho only or all models.

I’ll have to check this out if my new pcm doesn’t fix it. Are you in a RHO?

I’ve got 1700 miles, done a car wash, no issues. Maybe it’s an RHO thing, but I didn’t get an undercarriage wash

Maybe this means the CAN Bus will have to be decrypted or published or whatever to allow ALFAOBD 🤷🏻‍♂️
I doubt it. More likely it would be ruled that if you buy a pro scanner you already have the ability to diagnose & repair your own vehicle (assuming you can buy the necessary parts which even the dealers can't). When I first started watching this forum I couldn't believe how many people were hacking their vehicles to add features and how simple it seemed using off the shelf consumer grade tools. What this implied was lack of security in the electronics modules. Over the past few years suppliers have been hard pressed to implement cyber security features to ensure vehicle safety. After all, no one wants their vehicle hacked remotely and as a consequence, hacking in your garage is eliminated as well. This also comes at a cost of not allowing detailed information on proprietary bus messaging into the public as well as ensuring bus traffic is encrypted. So take your choice, new high end tech features (with a locked down bus starting in 2025) or the ability to hack your RAM (2024 and earlier). One of the reasons it was so simple to hack the earlier Rams was the use of LSCAN allowing modules to be plugged into a star bus. This is no longer possible when they implement CANFD. Harnesses become much more specific to the vehicle build.
