2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I've got a 2025 with almost 11k miles. I've had no issues until recently but I came here after googling an issue I had today. I got a warning light for the oil level being overfilled. I had my first oil change at around 6k miles and I was planning on getting another oil change when I got home the end of this week. I travel for work, so I'm about 330 miles from home currently. I am in Cleveland currently and this occurred at about 3pm. I went to the truck to leave the place I was visiting and it immediately gve me the warning light. I was not parked on an incline at all. I called a local dealer but they are booked up until next Wednesday so that wont work. I may go get an oil change in the morning and see if that does anything to help.
The oil level reading too high is a common problem. I've seen it mentioned here in this forum and also seen it mentioned on other social media sites. They should have just stuck with a dipstick. My BMW has no dipstick either, but a BMW is known for being a luxury car/suv and overly complicated to justify its price. There was no reason to overcomplicate a Dodge or RAM, they should just save everyone, including themselves, the headache and a few dollars, and stop trying to unnecessarily complicate things.

Each notch on the gauge is 1 quart. It is 1 notch past the center.
According to the manual, it looks like each notch is 1/4 quart from min to max. Which makes sense since it says to add one quart when you get a low oil level warning.

thanks for the replies. I guess the question was implied but i was looking for assistance and to see if anyone else had a similar experience.

I did follow the steps listed in the owners manual to refresh the oil level with no change in the warning I’m receiving.

It doesn’t make sense that i wouldn’t get this error until about 4500 miles after i got an oil change if it was actually overfilled. That leads me to believe it’s not accurate and it’s an error with the sensor or something like that.

I have an appointment with the dealer next Tuesday. Not sure if i should try to change it and see if it changes or keep driving it.

Unless you can do it yourself, I’d have them drain the oil and check how much comes out. I haven’t changed my 2025’s oil yet, but from past experience with my Tundra, not all the oil drains. So I would expect about 6.5 quarts will drain in the Ram 3.0. I’d refill with 6 quarts and check the level. If it is too low, add a half of quart at a time and recheck. If it shows too high, I’d suspect the sensor.

When I change the oil in about 4000 miles, I will check how much comes out relative to what the level says. I’m currently a half quart low. I’m curious how accurate the gauge is. Losing a half quart over 6000 miles seems reasonable for a new engine.

I did. My manual is just a small one that came with my truck, it only has maybe 75 pages total for some reason. It has no pages that reference any fuse locations. I appreciate it.
Go in the Ram app, tap Digital Glovebox, tap Owners Manual. At the top of the next page, under the picture of your truck it says Download PDF.
You can also log into your dashboard online and get it via a web browser.😀
When they do software updates they sometimes modify the manual for future trucks, so they mainly do PDFs nowadays. The 25’s manual was last updated in December I think and is version 3 now.

For 2019-2024 F12 is for the trailer park lamp circuit. On the 2025’s, F12 is for the front left headlamp module.
@firemedic10584 He right, I’m sorry. I had been looking in the 19 manual for my daughter and didn’t realize I pulled the wrong one.
The fuses for the 25 start on page 373 of the pdf.

Has anyone found or even looked for the trailer connection fuses? My 2023 had a trailer park lamp circuit fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. I can’t find anything related to trailer lighting on either fuse box location on the 2025. @Jimmy07 you happen to know? I’m needing the circuit for a marker lights project.
No fuses at all for the trailer light circuits on the 25’s. They are all controlled by the trailer tow module now.

@Jimmy07 Thanks for the correction, I appreciate it. Quick question: Is the (BH) heated seat supposed to turn itself off (3 times on a 40 min drive) or is it likely overheating and I should bring it in? Thanks

If heated seats turn off by themselves, there’s an issue.

Sunroof/Moonroof calibration on 2025 1500.....

I had an issue with sunroof not closing flush on the driver side. The passenger side was always flush, but the driver side stuck up about an 8th of an inch. While it still seemed to seal from air(I couldn't feel any airflow) I did notice some moisture on the inside of the sunroof occurring. There is a video about the older model 1500's that there is a calibration procedure you can do but no mechanical adjustment. I tried that and it did not remedy the situation so I took it to the dealership.

Must have had a great service tech, as he had it fixed in about 15 minutes. Stated there were some screws that were not in the right position. So, for the 2025's it seems they have changed some things and there is now mechanical adjustment that can be done. Just mentioning it so if anyone else has a similar issue, you have a fix. Sits flush now across the roof and seems quieter in the cab(though that may be imaginary as my ears are not scientifically calibrated measuring devices).

I did 1 oil change on my 2025 already. Changed it myself. I filled it up with the 7.4 quarts it asks for and I have no issues. The oil level shows one notch below the max. This is on a Laramie with the standard output 3.0.

So another possible issue I discovered today. I parked my truck in my garage, as normal. I noticed it was making a humming sound, almost like it’s charging or something? Not sure how to describe it. It’s still doing it after 15 minutes. I can’t imagine it’s normal. Anyone else notice something like this?
I noticed the same thing with my truck, to me sounds like a fan running. It will run for a few minutes then briefly stop/start and run for another few minutes. Asked my service department about it and they said it was the turbo fan cooling system running to cool them down. They said it will cycle through monitoring the turbo fan's temperature and keep the cooling system running until the temp gets below a set point. I was monitoring the current draw at the battery and saw it was around 4 amps when the cooling system was running. I could see if this system kept running for more than about 8 hrs. it could produce a dead battery so check out your truck after an hour or so to see if it stops whining....
