2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I live in Portland Oregon and have to take my truck in to see if they can get the 360 surround view trailer camera system working. Dealer says they just need to activate it in the Uconnect system, we will see how that works.
What I did notice is the dealer will set us up with an appointment to bring truck in, then the truck just sits there for 2-3 days waiting for a mechanic to do their diagnostic. If it can be fixed at the same time then I get the truck back. If parts need to be ordered or star ticket created to get factory support then truck can sit there for days or weeks waiting to get support or parts. Once all parts/support comes in then mechanic will return to truck at earliest opportunity to finish repair. I called around to other dealers and they are all in the same boat with 1-2 weeks lead time just to get appointment time. They say it is from a lack of mechanics due to labor shortage and higher demand for service work on Stellantis products.

Is anybody else around the nation seeing this same labor shortage and long lead times for service work?

Havent had too much to have it in for service work, but I did take it in on Saturday to have them look at the sunroof. They only do oil changes and basic stuff on the weekends, but took pictures and called me on Monday to let me know they needed me to bring it in. Set an appointment for Thursday and got it in there and fixed this morning. So, doesn't seem to be a delay in Nebraska.

My dealer usually gets me right in. if they need to keep it they give me a loaner, but usually its been in and out.

In south Texas, yes I did notice this same thing I got mad with my service guy and told him if you're not going to get on my truck at the appointment time why make an appointment? If you cant get to it till tomorrow then make appointment for tomorrow! He told me he was sorry but they don't have enough mechanics so 1 mechanic is jumping from service to service. I apologized for getting upset but I told him I use my truck for work I cant have it just sitting in your parking lot for two or three days waiting for someone to get to it. This dealership has had this issue for a while though, there was only one Lithia on the south side of town and that place is like 2 weeks to get an appointment . They opened my dealership on the outskirts of town a couple years ago and they've been struggling to keep mechanics and service people working.

Same here in SC on service. Gotta' allow nearly 1-2 weeks for anything that's warranty. Customer pay goes quicker, for obvious reasons.
I did have a license plate light fixed same day that was warranty but that was just a simple light...
Having a relationship with the dealer helps a lot. If sold there, sometimes they take that into consideration.
That's the price of moving or buying out of state.

Scan through the Lemon Laws for your state:

There is usually a max number of days the vehicle can be out of service during the lemon law warranty period (i.e., 24 months). I'm in NY, and it's 30 days. I've had the same issues with my local CDJR dealers, playing games with waiting a week or more for an appointment and then waiting weeks to get parts, and then getting "in line" again once the parts arrive to have the one knowledgable technician do the repair. I was well past lemon law timeframe, and had no leverage.
Not saying anyone here really wants to use the lemon law and have to go through all the PITA.... but it might be some leverage.

Please Help! Do you have this book in PDF

you can also call Stellantis customer care 800-399-2668 and tell them you can't purchase the manual on their website and would like to see if they can send you both the truck manual and Uconnect manual. That is how I got my 2 books for free. Online it shows they are not available to purchase. Or you can download the manual at the line shown on this page by millerbjm.

So, I’ve found out that my approach lights (turn headlights on when unlock with fob) work once for each engine shutdown.
Same experience here with my Limited... For what it's worth, we had a 2025 Lincoln Aviator that worked the same way (only once per engine cycle) and that was with PAAK (Phone as a key).

My 21 F-150 with proximity would light up like a 🎄 every time I walked by

Is there an option for them now? Or do they just work?
I don't see an option to turn them on or off! They just work, I think this is a safety thing that just works on all or most vehicles. Every vehicle I've owned always just had this, I don't even remember what year it started to be honest.

The 2019 has an option to turn it on. Thanks for the info!

How long was the truck running? Unless it’s like 80 out with the sun beating down on it, it’ll be a few miles of engine warm up before it’ll stop/start.
It’s just basic fluid dynamics. It takes more battery to start a “cold” engine. The hot/cold in this case is in reference to oil temperature and therefore its viscosity.
