Every time you read the system ID, it gets added onto the original. You are most likely seeing your original log. Scroll down until the log seems to repeat again, and that will be the next log you pulled.

That is your log from 12:16 today. Each time you want a new current log attached, you need to read the system ID and let the list fully populate.

There are 3 settings that need to be changed from factory defaults if your truck didn’t come with LDW. There are 4 in the list that’s in the original attachment at the beginning of this thread, one of them you shouldn't have to touch.

Set the following as shown below...

Lane departure warning present: YES
Lane departure warning torque CSM present: YES
Lane departure warning CSM present: YES


Anything else related to lane departure or LDW will be set to off.

I was able to get the settings to come up on both my 8.4” screen as well as the instrument cluster with no warnings using those settings. I just lack the hard key that is needed to enable the system.

@Jimmy07 do you have any thoughts as to why I can get ACC to function for a brief period but after a few miles, or a cycle of the ignition it kicks off and the warning lights come back on?

To get it to work I have the following set as indicated:

Cruise Control Present: YES
Type of adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system present: ACC with stop and go
ACC Adaptive Cruise Control: Enabled
ACC/DASM Adaptive Cruise Control/Driver Assistance Module: Enabled

The "ACC Adaptive Cruise Control" seems to be the key to getting it to function briefly, along with leaving regular cruise still enabled. However when the system kicks off I lose both again and have to go through the ABS initialization procedure to clear everything.

Right now I'm back to not even having regular cruise, but no warning lights. I'm letting it sit and will get that cleared up tomorrow hopefully.

That's exactly what I tried to change.
Try going through the abs initialization procedure. The app gives directions on the steps to go though it. Or follow the steps in the original attachment. If I'm not mistaken, lane sense gets some data from the abs module, which may be the key to both ACC and LDW in our trucks.

Side note, if you run the abs sensor cluster calibration, be sure you are on level ground. If not, you will end up with some crazy pitch and roll angles in the off-road screen when you look at it later on.

I’m guessing because you get to the point where the truck has run through it’s diagnostics checks, and realizes there is a conflict between two vehicle configurations- cruise control being set in VehConfig 2, and ACC with stop and go being set in VehConfig 7. The P/T chassis Net adaptive cruise control enabled can’t possibly be doing anything, because that module doesn’t exist on the bus.
Cabin Net and P/T chassis Net are settings that have to do with what modules your truck has. Cabin Net refers to modules that handle body functions, and communicate on the IHS bus (the canbus junction block that has the green connectors), and P/T chassis Net refers to modules that control engine/chassis functions, and communicate on the C bus (the canbus junction block that has the white connectors. Since there’s no such adaptive cruise control module for ram trucks (because it’s handled through the DASM), there’s nothing communicating on the can C bus for that module when you enable it.
I’m thinking if you can’t get the adaptive cruise to work with the correct ACC settings, then it’s probably the incorrect abs module. Reading through the service manual on forward collision warning vs acc, FCW uses a different method to stop the truck than ACC does, and the regular ABS module might be capable of those FCW commands. There’s just no distinctive info on that, though, so we need to actually compare some VINs and abs module part numbers to be sure.

I can see your change log, and you have successfully changed two of the settings from no to yes (1). It appears you never set CustSetMenu 1: Lane departure warning torque CSM present to YES. Once those are set, it will take some time for the two settings to show up in the radio. If all you are doing right now is adding the lane departure warning feature, you don’t need to do anything with the abs module initialization because it’s not involved with the LDW system.

Thanks for the in-depth explanation. I'm good with just about anything mechanical and general electrical schematics, but I'm still learning about all the canbus stuff on these newer vehicles and how it interacts with the various modules.

I found a 2021 Laramie at a local dealer that has the advanced safety group, so I am going to stop by Monday and look at the HCU to see if its the same part number as mine (I'm willing to bet it is) and then have them pull the ABS module based off the VIN in Star Parts. I think you're right and at this point everything seems to point at the ABS module. It seems like they switched to a HCU on the 21's that works with everything, but I'm guessing the ABS module itself is still different based on equipped features. Seeing as it's a fairly simple swap, I'm willing take the plunge and order one and see if that will get things working.

I was very accurate following tbd0021 instruction and I did change all 3 settings, but I am using alfaobd very first time and may be I need more practice. I noticed, that Lane departure warning torque CSM change was not shown in my system ID log, that's the actually question I had. now went back to my truck, just checked system ID directly from alfaobd and found all 3 required settings shown "Yes", removed OBDLink, circled ignition several time, now all previous warnings are gone and I have LKA settings shown. Unfortunately I got new warning light: "Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) unavailable. Service Required". I touched no any settings, except 3 for LKA. My FCW is deactivated, and I can't switch it on in Uconnect. Compared my bsm ID with bsm from christopher.clark019, who has LKA from factory and see no any difference in regards of LKA and FCW settings.

Disconnected battery for 15 min, now I have no more warning messages, but all safety settings are gone from Uconnect: LKA&FCW. I can activate and deactivate LKA by button, made a test drive, I see only indication of LKA on my dash board, which change colors from green to white, but do not see real function, speed was around 50.

You lose features and settings in the radio for a little bit each time the radio loses power for a few minutes. The settings will show back up after some time and a few drive cycles, and you can adjust them.

Yes, after two ignition circles and one drive, I got all settings back, no more warning lights. LKA seems to be working, but still need to be learned and tested on highway. I kept step by step description of the troubles which may occur, just to let the others know what to expect. tbd0021 many thanks for getting Your project done and sharing detailed instruction with us. Really amazing job!!! I will continue with my ACC and park assist projects.

Glad to hear you got it working and know this portion of the upgrade works on its own. I’m back to having no regular cruise now and it’s stumping me as to why I got it to work before after messing with stuff, but now regular cruise won’t come back. Hoping I get some time today to stop by and have the dealer pull up the ABS module part numbers on a few trucks to see if that’s the key to the ACC.

I’m back to having no regular cruise now and it’s stumping me as to why I got it to work before after messing with stuff, but now regular cruise won’t come back. Hoping I get some time today to stop by and have the dealer pull up the ABS module part numbers on a few trucks to see if that’s the key to the ACC.

Your ABS module is 68436461AH. I looked for the ABS module with Adaptive Cruise Control w/Stop and Go and seems like You need: Part Number: 68436462AJ : https://www.moparpartsinc.com/p/Ram...ti-Lock-Brake-System/97714279/68436462AJ.html

so we can install acc what parts would i need to have only acc in my Laramie 2020 ram
