Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

I test drove a GW with the HO for craps and laughs and didn't notice any appreciable lag.

I remember test driving a 2010 BMW 5 series that had so much lag it felt like a full second of a dead pedal every time you tried to go from a stop.

Not the same level but I rented a Ford Escort that had about a 3 second lag when you hit the gas. The best part is after you let off it would continue to accelerate for the 3 seconds it missed at the beginning. It was toasted and probably shouldn’t have been on the road. I didn’t do it any favors pumping the gas pedal as much as I could for the 5 days I had it.

Now back to the can of worms. So 0w40 or 0w20 which is better for my truck….also anyone like chrome bumpers……what about premium vs regular gas.

I think Ram needs to start releasing some of the new trucks for our sanity. @RamCares - We need some new trucks to look at or we’re all gonna lose our marbles.

The ivory tri-coat makes a huge difference. No matter how loaded a truck is, plain white looks like a work truck.

My 2019 Ltd was an Ivory tri-coat with the light interior. That was one good looking truck. Hated to sell it but needed money to buy a house. Got rid of the depreciating asset for an appreciatng one. Still wish I had it though.

I don’t have a problem with the oil weight recommendations and follow it in my Hemi Ram as well as my other vehicles. Pick your favorite weight/ brand and use it.

I do have a problem with the oil life minder that they recommend following for oil change frequency. It’s a sure way to engine failure before its time but after standard warranty period expires imho. I change oil every 50% oil minder usage or 5000 miles, whichever comes first. For me towing 7k# often at highway speeds that 50% occurs at 4200 – 4400 miles. I’ve never went 5000 miles on an oil change in this 2022 Hemi I now have. And I sure as heck wouldn’t drive 8500+ miles between oil changes following the oil minder the way I use this truck.

The 3.0 Hurricane overhead cams eliminating the roller lifters of the Hemi, but those turbos are working on the oil longevity as well. Listen to what the engineer of the 3.0TT had to say about cokeing. I believe the HO get premium as well.

Yep. Premium fuel only.

The lag isn't like it lags, and doesn't go at all. It just takes off, like a normal 6, then about 25 MPH, it sets you in the seat. I prefer instant horsepower.

0-60 times are excellent so I'm having trouble with the lag reports.

Maybe it was mentioned previously in this thread, idk. But I noticed that the Rambox is standard on everything above Laramie. I normally buy a limited, but I can’t stand Rambox. So that sucks you can’t deselect it!

you can get the 2025 limited with a 6'4 bed and no ram boxes. makes the truck 9 inches longer., that's what I did. now the 2025 tungsten currently is unavailable with that bed option, and you have to get the ram boxes. I think it's stupid of ram not to keep those as a buyer option on all models. a lot of people don't like them.

You can't have more power without the use of more fuel..... I'm sure if you detune the SO to the power level of a Hemi, then you'd probably get more mpg. The Hemi had its run, time for the SST.

In an earlier test 0-60 for the HO with brake torque was 4.7; for the SO brake torque 5.2 and no brake torque 5.7. The HO without brake torque was not listed - that would have been insightful.

agree it's going to take me moving some stuff against the wall to get it to fit comfortably so you can move around it when its parked in the garage. it will still be tight though.
I almost gave up on a ram order and was seriously considering another brand before I realized the longer bed was available on the limited. I really wanted that truck I loved everything about the 24 that I drove except the night edition package. and we couldn't find one with all the packages I wanted anywhere close. and then the 24-order window closed. so, It was a 2025 or something else.

Where are you getting your numbers? Everything I have seen has been 1-2mpg better for the SO version, and about the same differences but less for the HO. All with increased power

You have to look at more than just the peak numbers. Power under the curve is what's important, not the peak HP.
