Well, I was excited to find out my truck (5/19 order date) is in D1 status, but after reading all the posts about languishing in D1 status, I’m not as excited as I was! o_O

Woah! I just searched your posts and I believe I saw that you have ramboxes on your order. Outside of Kramer, I think you're the only other person ive read about being in D1! Congrats!

Yea plan on at least 3 weeks in D1. I’m currently at 21 days and I didn’t order anything late availability at all.

My trade wasn’t locked in with my dealer and this is starting to take too long. I’m trying to get my dealer to take my trade off my hands over the weekend and put me in a dealer demo until my truck arrives.

26 days and no end in site. Looking at a truck locally tomorrow to see the light interior colors. I found a twin to my build just without the black interior. Stay tuned.

Why wouldn't they lock it? When I ordered my current truck, the only stipulation was I keep it under 36,000 miles to ensure the factory warranty didn't expire.

Lol I’m at that point too. I have a truck coming in nearby that’s close to my order.

My order has the 33 gallon tank which this local truck does not which kinda blows. Also this local truck has the Kentucky Derby sticker (huge waste of 195 since I’ll remove it first thing), trailer brake control (I don’t tow but it’s whatever), and the soft bed cover (I want a hard one and this one kinda sucks). All in all with the extra things it’s about 800 more than my order.

Unless my dealer and I can come to a serious agree on my trade tomorrow I may try to snag this truck that’s in transit to a dealer.

Side note if anyone wants to buy my 2015 Cadillac ATS coupe that’s in excellent condition let me know hahah

Dunno they were being difficult about it and gave me a pretty good quote when I placed the order. I’m trying to fix this situation and if not explore what options I may have. If I knew my truck was about to be built it’s one thing but my time in D1 is driving me crazy.

I called my dealer today and they told me my truck was built and would be here in 2 weeks. Yet I spoke to three different people at customer service today to test them and they all said no it’s still in D1.

Needless to say I called the dealer out on this and the sales manager said he would get with the GM tomorrow to figure this out. I just want out of my trade until my car arrives at this point.

Have you tried Carmax?

No since even if I sell it to Carmax I still need something to drive. If I get the dealer to buy it and get me in a demo then I have fixed that situation. My wife has a Cadillac SRX but she needs it at all times since we just had our first baby so not having two cars isn’t an option for us.

I can rent a car but around here it’s like 850 a month for a small POS from an enterprise or something which in the end is just as bad as my trade losing value. So we will see what happens.

Ugh, sorry dude. I’m not in that big a hurry, but at the same time I hate to wait! I hope yours gets built soon!

On the flip side, my dealer received 2 trucks today, both showing build dates of 5/27.....

You are close to the factory though yes? Well close within reason.

Mine would get shipped to Northern VA area so I would assume that would be probably 2-3 weeks once released.

It's unfortunate there is no option of going to the factory and picking up the car like Porsche or BMW offers. I'm sure if it was logistically possible, they would. But with lack of paying for transport, possible tax breaks of people flying/driving in to stay in the city for a few days, some sort of $500 fee or so for people who dont want to wait for the rail system and also want to see the factory. Like I said, I'm sure it's been brought up at plenty of meetings within FCA and determined to be too big of a headache

Yes, you are correct. I just added my build sheet to the post so folks can see it in this thread, too.

Fellas, I am closer to full ownership. I stopped by my dealer today to see the truck. It is in, and looks beautiful. I sat in it, and synced my phone. I am still waiting for my wheels and tires. I took a few photos but it wasnt cleaned up and I really want to wait till my total package is complete before revealing. I am sure you understand. Its so pretty, and from what I hear on this forum, it appears to be the first built laramie black edition. The sport hood is amazing. The mirrors to have power close even though I do not have trailer tow package nor trailer brake. I am not sure if anyone else was confused, but a few posts had me worried they were manual. That is not true. Stay tuned, I hope to have it by Friday, or worst case, Monday.

Congrats, can't wait to see it! The non tow mirrors are power folding while the tow mirrors are manual folding.
