We had another member (@bmoney5813 ) in a similar situation waiting on a fuel pump. I would cultivate a good relationship with the service manager and ask him to elevate best he can, and perhaps @RamCares can give you advice on how to request the part be “liberated” from the production line for you, as an existing owner who received a faulty truck. Here’s the post from bmoney talking about his approach. Good luck, once the part shows up you will be good to go hopefully.

It’s cosmetic and not significant. Fuel pump would be high priority.

Had my Ram 6 days and not even 200 miles on it, the backup camera is acting up. The Connect 8.4" display has green lines going through it as it the connection is bad or the camera itself became defective. I also noticed that when going from Park to Reverse, there is a loud clank from the transmission. Not feeling too good about this already. Going to see what the dealership has to say hopefully this Saturday.

I had my Ram for 3 days with 150 miles on it and my backup camera stopped working on about 1 in 3 startups. If it works on start up it continues to work until you shut the truck off. If it does not work on startup it continues to not work until you shut the truck off. I took it to the dealer today and they tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery after checking all connections per Chryslers recommendation. This did not fix the problem. The tech said their is a communication problem and ordered a new camera. He also said that there is a problem interfacing with the truck.

There is a paint drip hanging down on the side of the hood (looks like a very small stalactite). The dealer offered to repaint the hood. I said no thanks since it really is not that noticeable. I asked for a tube of touchup paint to fix it myself and he gladly granted my request.

The truck goes in again next week for the camera. The dealer offered to give me a car to use if I leave the truck with them so they can make sure it is repaired. So far I am satisfied with the service departments efforts to make me a happy customer.

I am very happy with the truck and feel it is a big upgrade from the Sierra that I traded in.

My sunroof stopped working. Could hear clicking when pressing the close button only. Took 30 seconds to fix. Turn ignition to acc, hold glass close button if the sunroof and sunshade are closed you will here both the glass and shade motors make a series of clicks, if the glass or shade is open they will now close, once that is complete release the switch and then immediately push and hold it again, the sunshade will open, glass will vent then open, glass will close, sunshade will close, release the button, turn the ignition off. Sunroof will now work as the obstruction detection and motor stops have been relearned

Just adding this here. Posted this response to another thread about issues. Wondering if anyone is having these issues as well?? Heard any fixes?

-The worst is the WHISTLE coming from the vent/recirculation! Like...I sometimes don't even drive my $60,000 truck if I need to go above 50! Took it on a long road trip and it whistled the ENTIRE TRIP!! The dealership said they looked online and saw a video about the vent and recirculation. It definitely changes when I turn those on and off but it's always there! The mechanic told me to maybe just not use that!!!! Seriously?
-And my AC seems like it just NEVER get cold! Blows cool air maybe...but it never cools down. It's really bad.
-I have to turn my truck off and on sometimes to get the 12" screen to work. It's usually just black. which means you have no controls for anything!
-And I had the same issue with my odometer vs. "distance traveled" or whatever they call it in the nav area. off by over 5,000 miles! This truck didn't travel 5,000 miles to the dealership.

I've been MORE than annoyed with this entire experience. If I could go back and get my 2012 F150 back that I traded I would in a heartbeat. Especially for a sticker price of $64,000.

Has anyone heard anything about any fixes for these things? I haven't heard a word from my dealership after they told me to just not use the recirculation! Really??? Don't use a feature on your brand new truck? that's the fix????

Unfortunate that you're having those issues but it sounds like you need to find a new dealer.

Guys, wanted to give you an update. Took my truck back to dealer yesterday with the info I describe above. I talk to the service manager this time and explained my frustration as you can imagine. Anyway I got a call from them today and they said they have found another leak on top of the one I found around the back window. They said the were in the process of taking the headliner down in the back of the cab to found where the other water leak was coming from. They are going to give me another update tomorrow on what the find. I can tell you if this ends up as bad as I am thinking with multiple water leaks then our next conversation is going to be how do I get a new truck! My truck is an early production truck with build date 3/2018. I am not sure how soon Ram finds out about major issues like this but I hope this was corrected quickly. I will post another update when I get more information. Since taking this to the top manager over the service department it seems to be getting the attention it deserves. Stay tuned!
Hello all, here is an update on my water issues. The dealer finally fixed my issue of water leaking in the back of the cab. They removed the back window and reinstalled with a new seal. They said it appeared that the original seal was damaged when installed at the factory. They also put silicone around the sunroof drain tubes on both sides where they come out of the back of the cab. This has fixed my water leak issue in the back cab but know I have another leak on the front drivers side! After it rained last night my driver side front carpet was wet. So I did some troubleshooting again on my own and found the leak. You won’t believe this one. I Noticed after spraying water on the front windshield on the lower driver side corner, I opened the door and water appeared to be coming in from underneath the seal at the bottom of the door and running in the cab under the carpet. Upon further inspection, I pulled the door seal up off the metal flange it attaches to and water was actually leaking out of the seam where the cab was spot welded together! Unbelievable! I have attached some pics so hopefully you can get an idea of what I am describing. I went straight back to the dealer to show them my findings of this new leak that has appeared. I also opened a case with Ram customer service to start talks about my buy back options. I am done dealing with these water issues and am looking at my options to replace the truck. I hope this helps those of you that are having the same issues. Will update you again when I have more info.

I've been having pretty much the same issues as you save for the wind whistle. Instead, I have a chatter in my pano roof. They can't seem to fix that darn A/C!

I have a 2019 Laramie sport (build date 7/18) and haven’t had any issues yet, thank goodness. I’ve only had it a couple weeks and have 800 miles on it so far, but she drives like a dream. No rattles, no leaks, no whistle, or squeaky brakes. 12 inch display works flawlessly, and leather interior was put together quit well.

I know it’s still early in the process, but I think I may have purchased a solid vehicle. It’s too bad there are so many issues going on with some of these new trucks, but I think FCA will get them corrected.

I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to lemon law a vehicle if it continues to have problems, I did with my 2010 Bighorn...but turned right around and picked up a new 2012 Bighorn that was (and still is) awesome.

I’m super happy with my purchase......so far.

I was at first a little concerned about the HVAC performance. It seems to be that either Im getting used to it or it is performing better..
Similar experience here. On the original drive home of just over 30 miles, I too thought the AC performance was tepid. It now seems fine...in fact, I would call it very good.

Dan1989..........thank you very much for your posts. Unfortunately I guess it is true......misery loves company. My truck is usually parked under cover so my moisture problems have all come after driving in heavy rain. I think it is, as you have found, coming from multiple locations so it will be difficult to determine if and when it is completely corrected. What will these $60k+ truck be like in years to come if not fixed completely now!....rust buckets!

I am going to schedule my truck with the dealer again and have the carpet pulled out and water tested again.....this tine from top, sides AND underneath.

Assuming you had key on you in store? If so, I'd make sure your dealer knows so that this issue gets reported since all 2019's have keyless start.

Just hit 2200 miles and she's been flawless. A/C is cold, no water leaks, no 12" display issues. Still slightly annoyed at the ultra-sensitive emergency breaking when backing up, but whatever. I hear there's an update for it that I'll mention to my dealer at my first oil change.

Guess I got a decent truck- mine was built 7-10-18.

I'm not taking away anything from those with water leaks - I feel for you and that's unacceptable on any new vehicle built after 1990.
I did have a thought though. I travel a lot and have visited many dealerships across the country. They have a lot of 5th gen trucks on the lots so that had me wondering how prevalent water leaks are. If it was any more than a very small percentage, seems like we'd be hearing about far more folks looking at in stock models that absolutely reeked when the door was opened.
I take that optimistically that this is a very small problem statistically. Since I'm still an arm chair owner, I'd much rather have a suspension clunk than a water leak.

Limited built 7/8. After tree weeks driver seat (frost) shows significant wear line along outboard edge, like the leather disintegrating . The right side of the dash was off from the pillar by an inch and stuffed with a square piece of foam that stuck out to close hole. Turns out they didn't get the pillar trim piece in the dash clip to secure it so they stuffed a piece of rubber in the gap. Used trim removal tools and installed correctly myself minus the filler. Doors all need alignment especially r/r door , looks open also has a small dent at bottom corner, will request dealer fix at first 1000 mile oil change. Went to lift rear mat to clean, all the mat fasteners came out with it. turns out they put the retainers in upside down, you have to lift the carpet out to fix this, real pain. Somehow the gap above the rear window (left side) and the roof got overspray in it from the spray liner , they cant get it out , just had them give me touch up to cover it , you really cant hardly see it. They definitely have to up there quality control , My 15 was flawless. Mechanically all is great , still impressed with the ride and hoping for uconnect update, it has a mind of its own every time you start.

First post. Two weeks in with my new limited. 700 miles on it. Only issue is the AC doesn't work as well as I'd hoped. It seems to work better moving. At a standstill it never seems to get really cold. Also have the HK system, sounds great just does not get loud. It's still too early to tell, but so far I love it and would buy another in a heartbeat. Came over from GM, never thought I'd buy a Ram. Build date is June for my truck.
