Just throwing it out there, I have this sound exactly and I have the Powerfold Mirrors with Surround. So my guess would be it’s not the mirrors.

There over 100 replies to this thread, so im sorry if I missed it. I dont have the noise. But I am wondering, has anyone closed vents, or turned on or off recircs? Has anyone self tested to see of the grill flaps play a factor as it redirects air away from the engine when they are closed, or as it lets air into the bay when they are open?

Has anyone tried changing a cabin air filter? Or take it out amd then drive again?

Does anyone WITHOUT a sunroof hear this?

Its very annoying and not a one-off problem that Ram should address. I didn't buy my truck just to take pictures of it...and I'm not about to play myth busters on a 50k truck that's less a month old with painters tape. Dealers done give a damn unless they have a directive from the manufacturer. No dealer is spending working capital on a problem they didn't create nor should the new owner.

Subscribed. Same sound. Only had the truck for a month and heard it for the first time heading from Phoenix up to Flagstaff. Started happening in the 75-80 mph range. Glad I’m not crazy.

That is the same sound I get. And only on windy days.

I'm about ready to see if a local news would meet me at the dealership here in the West Texas desert while I meet with them. Until I threatened with BBB, social media, or news, they wouldn't even return my calls. Then a "GM" called me. I waited over a month for an appointment to take it in, finally Nov 28 I got it in. Did not get it back until Dec 31. Had 4 issues: the wind noise, a rear window would not roll down and up good, GPS was not working, and brakes squealing (noticed all that within a few weeks of owning it - bought in late Aug). After getting it back, brakes still squeal and that D@M# wind noise. And here in W TX wind is a mainstay

I feel for you guys suffering from the noise. Like Longhorn 5G I dont hear it in my Limited. I may be oblivious or deaf bit I think the truck is rather quiet. I hope you guys can find a resolution. I know how frustrating it can be. Good luck and keep us posted.

Currently sitting at the dealership service dept waiting to hear what they find. I had a 7:50 AM appointment made almost two weeks ago and was told by the service advisor I would be here most of the day. I’m not going to be a happy camper if he comes back and says they can’t find anything.

The wind noise I have is coming from the passenger window or door, it happens when diving at interstate speeds and gets worse with a crosswind. I had a passenger push on the window glass while I was driving and when he pushed on the top front corner of the window, the noise got worse. When I push on the driver’s side glass in the same area, there is zero wind noise.
Dealer is ordering new door gasket...we’ll see if that was the issue. To me it seemed as if the door glass just needed to be adjusted, but as we know the door gasket is an easier fix...that’s probably why they determined it was the gasket. I will post back after they replace the gasket.

I have the same sound during highway speed with tow mirrors. Along luck from Ram on fix?

Nope. It's in the shop a second time. They haven't driven it on a windy day, and aren't allowed to drive it fast enough to recreate it on a non-windy day. They actually told me today they didn't know what to tell me. I let them know it's not ok for a ~$70k truck to have a problem like this and no fix.

On the plus side, they are fixing some kind of problem I hadn't read about with the hood, and we're finally able to recreate one of the seat belts locking up.

I just want them to start trying something.

It's quite unfortunate that this isn't going to be fixed easily. I'll talk to the dealership again tomorrow, but it sounds like no matter what proof I provide of the issue, they can't do anything without experiencing it themselves, and they aren't allowed to drive it in a way thet they will experience it.
This is not going to end well.

Make sure you call em every other day if you go silent and don't check at least once a week fca will silently close the case because you did not follow up enough...

Will do, thanks for the advice. Had emailed them about 2:00am CST this morning and it was read at ~8:30am CST today.

All of this has gotten to the point (with the other issues too) where I'm going to keep pushing and pushing. We all have spent way too much $$$ on these trucks and many way to much of our own time trying to figure out what engineers get paid to do.

@RamCares we still alive out there or did everyone take off for DAS this week?

Hey zman9119,

We're here! I went ahead and sent a note to your case manager Joe to request he get in contact with you as soon as possible.

I have a 2019 1500 limited, and have a horrible noise as well. I would describe it as a howl, and only happens at highway speeds on a windy day. My fear of taking it to the shop without diagnosing it is on a calm day, they are going to have to go pretty fast to try to replicate it (90ish), but on windy days it happens at lower speeds (60-70). I don't see them being willing to drive it that fast
Hopefully the yt link below works and you can hear the howling/whistling. Anyone else's sound like that?

Yes I had the same issue, for me it was a misaligned panoramic sunroof. The dealer had to completely remove the headliner and and reset the plastic frame and glass panel. Now I am dealing with a wind noise coming from the back of the cab.

I recently took my 2019 Laramie to the dealer due to the wind noise coming from the driver side. The dealer said that it was a side mirror and switched it out. That did not make any difference. Truck is still make that noise and is still at the dealership. I will keep everyone posted if they find out what it is.
