A suggestion that may not apply to everyone.

Open the front doors and observe the presence of a foam gasket that is located between the inner fender shield and the inside of the front fenders and runs from the top to the bottom. Look for the gasket to be misaligned or out of place.

Best regards,
Dusty

I have the same noise. It’s coming from the ac cabin air recirculater . When I’m at highway speed it starts , only when the ac recirculating is on . When I turn it off and get outside air the noise goes away. There must be a seal that isn’t sealing off the outside air completely.

Seriously has anyone tried what I was saying with recirc on-off at highway speed?
Yes the recirc button stopped it. I have a 19 bighorn. It confuses me more that it helps. What does thay mean?

Started noticing it this last week. Confirmed by a passenger Saturday night (that I wasn't going nuts). Will have to mention it to the dealer whenever I get my truck it for all the other issues.

See for me, the recirc on is when I hear the wind noise. When it's on fresh air I dont hear it. That's weird.

I'm having this same issue I think but mine is from the passenger side. We can push against the door and the noise will stop. The dealer has already replaced the driver door seal for this issue and also replaced the passenger mirror for a faulty mirror. The sound I have is like a Morse code and very annoying.
I am having wind noise on the passenger side at highway speeds, no whistle. Just wind noise. I have also noticed if the climate system is turned off the noise seems to go away, or at least get somewhat quieter. Zero noise coming from the driver's side.

Hi everyone,
It's understandable how frustrating this may be. We are happy to provide you all with additional assistance if you'd like to work with your dealer to find a solution to this. Just send us a private message if you're interested!

I have taken my truck to the dealer once already with this issue. They claimed the sunroof was out of alignment. The service manager verified the noise when on a ride with me. He drove a new one on the lot and did not experience this issue. After keeping my truck for three days they said it was fixed. It is not. Same issue still going on. I have second appointment in a week to try again. Mine also whistles at high speeds or strong head wind.

Idk, but that makes me feel liek maybe its the side upper dash vents on top making it sound like its outside. For that particular noise issue at keast.

I understand not everyones particular noise issue may align exactly the same as another noise issue.

If the recirc is off, and air is flowing in the system at a greater amount and funneling its way through the whole systen, maybe its residual sound is verbing out eventually into that defrost vent up there.

So when the recirc is on, no high flow highway air to verb up the sytem, quieting it right up.

Just thinking out loud. Air systen experts, please dont kill ke for speaking out if turn and out of my own personal subject matter expertise... which isnt AC circulatory systems, i assure you.

I asked my doctor about this wind noise problem in the Ram, too.

He asked if i still smoked. I said yes.

He told me to cut out the smoking.

Anybody had this issue or had it fixed, there is a noticeable wind noise starts at 40 miles and keep increasing with speed on the driver side !
Mine is on the passenger side, I rode around the other day in the back seat while someone else drove me and pinpointed it to the rear window seal, dealer is trying to tell me that its buffeting and working as intended. I asked them to let me drive another limited, they only had one on the lot and the air noise was very bad due to the sunroof grommets both being out.... once I get back around to it I will drive that Limited as they supposedly were going to fix the grommets that same day, and see if there is a the same noise and wind.

I have a 2019 1500 limited, and have a horrible noise as well. I would describe it as a howl, and only happens at highway speeds on a windy day. My fear of taking it to the shop without diagnosing it is on a calm day, they are going to have to go pretty fast to try to replicate it (90ish), but on windy days it happens at lower speeds (60-70). I don't see them being willing to drive it that fast
Hopefully the yt link below works and you can hear the howling/whistling. Anyone else's sound like that?

I have this EXACT noise. The weird thing on mine is I didn’t notice it for 6 months. It has to be a windy day for me to hear it though and only with cross winds. I have not taken it in as it’s lived in the shop with other issues already. Hopefully someone can get a definitive answer.

I noticed the exact same howling noise coming from both the passenger and drivers side. Occurred at highway speeds and with a bad crosswind. I was able to put my fingers in the door/seal and found the wind coming in from the door near the top of the door. It was pretty loud. Anyone take it in yet and get an answer?

same here starts at ~70 and i believe it depends on how strong winds are as well... just drove the truck from Houston to San Diego and had some pretty windy conditions in the desert where it was noticeable the most...

Spoke with my dealer about an hour ago. They are ordering and replacing the passenger side mirror due to "a defect" that they believe is causing this issue. ETA on replacement is unkn.

So I took 3 trips since my last post, back and forth to work yesterday and to work this morning, 25 minute interstate ride, doing 70-80 mph with the recirc button on, and I get the whistle sound and long as its off, I don't hear the sound. Not sure that's a fix for everyone, but illucid mentioned in a few posts back from this and like him mine went away.
I get this sound when my air is off or if the recirc is on. When I turn the recirc off the whistle goes away. I can hear it over the radio as well. Super annoying while on the highway. I have to take my truck back in for my brakes once the parts come in and I will be asking them about this issue as well.

I just got back from driving 6 hours. Headed north I had a tail wind so no howling. Headed south I had a strong head wind and cross wind. Howled the entire time. I can almost eliminate it by folding in the mirrors, but that's not happening. I planned ahead and brought some painters tape to see if I could isolate it. I taped everything around the hinge, but that didn't make a difference. I wish I would have seen the post about the cover, because I would have tried taping that. Anyway, making an appt tomorrow because this is our travel vehicle and I can't deal with the sound.

The wind noise I have been experiencing on the passenger side is definitely coming from the window glass at the top front edge of the glass, just a light touch in that area breaks the seal. I have an appointment to take it to the dealer next week. It looks like the window just needs adjusting.
