Wind noise

I have this EXACT noise. The weird thing on mine is I didn’t notice it for 6 months. It has to be a windy day for me to hear it though and only with cross winds. I have not taken it in as it’s lived in the shop with other issues already. Hopefully someone can get a definitive answer.

Same issue... I've had the truck since June and didn't hear the noise until a roadtrip over the holidays at 70-80mph but only with cross-winds.

I'm having a wind noise issues as well, but I'm almost certain it's coming from my pano sunroof. The noise happens at highway speeds and sounds like the window is open. Not sure if it's the weather stripping or bad alignment. Pushing on the glass doesn't seem to help. Hopefully the dealership can help me out.

I did this to my rear window a week ago and wind noise is gone, truck has finally been a pleasure to drive, dropped it at the dealer today, they told me that I changed the way the air was flowing around my truck with the tape and that's why I do not hear the wind noise in my cab anymore, the seal around the glass is fine. They double checked it by driving another of the vehicles on their lot and it also had wind noise so mine is apparently working as intended.

Hate those guys.

Hi asac12,
We understand why you would want this addressed. Please send us a private message if you need any additional assistance while your truck is at the dealer!

Anybody had this issue or had it fixed, there is a noticeable wind noise starts at 40 miles and keep increasing with speed on the driver side !
Dealership had my truck for ONE MONTH AND 3 DAYS. Issue still not fixed. They told me it was a seal not done by factory under hood. I think they guessed wrong. Only notice it on windy days but is a loud whirring sound.

Idea #1...Maybe tape only part of back window at a time and test drive it to see if you can localize noise. Idea #2...Turn heat/ac blower (fresh air, not recirculating) on high with all windows closed tight and spray soapy solution around outside of back window/third center stop light and look for bubbles from air leakage. (...like a leak in a tire) My Rebel crew cab built in July is very quiet even when sitting in back seat. My truck does have the horizontal seal that closes gap between cab and box that some later built trucks seem to not have from factory. I also have vertical seals that can be seen from looking into cab to box gap from either side. There are air vents at back lower wall of cab to let air pressure escape cab and some think the missing horizontal seal allows road/wind noise to be heard through those vents. Maybe your tape causes wind to blow differently into the cab to box gap? Hope some of these ideas make sense.

I have a 2019 1500 limited, and have a horrible noise as well. I would describe it as a howl, and only happens at highway speeds on a windy day. My fear of taking it to the shop without diagnosing it is on a calm day, they are going to have to go pretty fast to try to replicate it (90ish), but on windy days it happens at lower speeds (60-70). I don't see them being willing to drive it that fast
Hopefully the yt link below works and you can hear the howling/whistling. Anyone else's sound like that?

Exact same thing for me and my limited.

They pulled my rear window and sealed it noise gone, I also ordered the horizontal seal it should be here by Friday, in the mean time I have towels over those vents and pushed under the seat honestly since they sealed the read window the main whistle I heard is gone I am hoping the vertical seal will clean up the rest. Thanks for the advise!

Truck back Monday, still not fixed. They drove 163 miles to "confirm" it was fixed and I was able to tell within the first 2-3 miles that, while a little less noticeable, it is still pretty loud. Had it 13 days (100+ miles put on it over the weekend by the General Manager...).

I'm pretty lost at this point on multiple ends.

I am beginning to think they pick and choose who they believe are suckers for customers, so the mechanic and staff have a car to drive to and from work.

No, I AM SERIOUS.

There are too many of these things I read in here where simple .5 hour fixes turn into weeks, a month, and 100 to 200 mile TEST DRIVES.

I agree to a point. With the holiday, I could somewhat understand the delay in getting parts in, but the miles part is freaking ridiculous (especially with the GENERAL manager driving it (no service experience). There were signs from when I first walked in to purchase the truck that I should have waked out, but I'm new to the area (rural vs Chicago) so thought some of my city-senses could be wrong down here.

Should have known too when I dropped it off (planned a week in advance) and was told they only had one tech working and it might take two days that it was a sign, but I've been told to give people a chance before I get pissed off. Surprisingly the anger management classes are still working for 15 years ago... as of right now.

Hopefully my FCA Case Manager and @RamCares will keep working on this.

Subscribed. Same sound. Only had the truck for a month and heard it for the first time heading from Phoenix up to Flagstaff. Started happening in the 75-80 mph range. Glad I’m not crazy.

FCA / @RamCares will give a **** all they do is delay tactics... they have been sitting on cases / issues since months and sometimes they just close it without anything done hoping it will go away by itself and then blame you as a customer that you haven’t followed up often enough...

It's a slippery slope. I was once told by a service advisor that the angriest/squeakiest of customers don't always get the speediest results, wink-wink. I always say, firm but friendly... but never naive.

Slippery slope for them as well I am for the second time done and gave everything to an attorney now... all @RamCares does is oh we understand but you have to bring it to a dealer bla bla bla ... dealers say ohhh we can’t do anything it’s on fca you have to follow up with them... but hey you can use CarPlay or hey the humming noise is done when you do this and that ohhhh wind noise just driver slower...

There is a point in a ping pong game where I cannot stay friendly anymore but frankly it will be up to the attorneys now...

Have you been able to get any answers on this from Ram? I have the same sound . I have manual fold tow mirrors.

I have the same sound during highway speed with tow mirrors. Along luck from Ram on fix?
