Wind noise

Hi All, I have the same tea pot/whistle noise, however, when I duplicate the issue it only happens when any window or the sunroof open is open slightly or more. I can faintly hear it when the A/C is on full max and the radio off too. My guess is when the cab is under pressure a seal "blows out" so to speak. The noise is louder than having the window down. I'm thinking maybe the cab vents in between the cab and box are causing it. It is a 2020 Crew Cab Laramie built 3/2020. I have not taken it in yet however I might pull the back seat and see what happens.

Yes the seal is present between the cab and box.

Do you have a bunch of stuff under the rear seat? There is a small opening at the bottom of the trim panel behind the rear seats allowing air flow to the cab vents, it could be blocked. Another thing to check is with all the windows closed, crank the vent fan to high and turn off recirculate. Get out of the truck, if the door pops open that's your first clue the rear vents are blocked. If you have trouble closing the door that's the second clue. The real test is listen and look between the cab and the bed. With the fan on high you should clearly hear air rushing out of the cab and see the vents flaps in the open position

OMG lol thanks for sharing that. its exactly how I fixed my wind noise by stuffing a rag down deep in the dash lol. glad they finally recognize the issue.
Hello, I am trying to figure out this whistle noise also. Where exactly did you stuff the rags? Thanks

I experienced the whistle a few times during a recent long road trip. Fortunately it only happened on occasion when at 75+mph and with heavy gusting winds. I can't recall if they were head or crosswinds.

I'm now in the teapot whistle club. With the winds we had here in NC from the tropical storm. I was going about 72-75 MPH, thought I was going crazy.

Heard this noise the other day as well. I can feel it on the A pillar grab handle as well when it happens.

UPDATE: I was on a couple hundred mile trip yesterday and tried to pinpoint the noise. Prior to the trip, I placed the shop VAC hose in the window, because my noise happens if the sunroof or any window is cracked, turned vacuum on and no noise. Checked the flaps by the cab/bed and all working fine. So after opening and closing every every window and sunroof while on my trip I can still hear the tea pot sound over the window noise. I know this may sound crazy but I think it might be the Active Noise Canceling trying to compensate for the increase in wind noise when a window is open slightly. I'm going to see if I can disconnect the ANC and see if that fixes it.

Doesn't appear to be ANC. Disconnected the plug, same noise. I'll take it in at some point or trade it when the Bronco comes out.

37 pages of people trying to solve this issue, seems like a real problem. In the interest of my time, has anyone solved the wind noise issue? I do not have a whistle as some were describing, but the "blowing over a glass bottle" type of noise that is far too loud for a luxury truck. My 20 year old soft top convertible doesn't have turbulent air that can be heard over the radio like this.

Mine goes away when I make the recirculation turn off. Not sure why it's on when I have it of but I press the button a few times and whistle goes away. It would be nice to have an answer.

Guys, here is the fix for the whistle/hoot noise in the A-Pillar area. The Star case document is attached. They performed the repair and no more annoying noises.
How did you get this? Is there a place to search for them? As re there others related to the whistle recirculation noise issue?

This is an internal FCA doc. No public access however this did in fact fix my problem with the hoot/whistle noise.

I have the same noise that sounds like its coming from the pillar area..My dealer said it was my mirrors when 2 other mechanics from another dealership said they heard the noise and its not the mirrors..Been to the dealership 4 times for window problems, they have replace gaskets in passenger door, gaskets in driver rear side door, cable broke and window fell inside passenger door and now the loud noise in pillar area.Love the Truck but the wind noise in this 60,000 truck sucks..
