Does anyone else have the whistle at 45mph with a cracked window? I've got the 75mph and or high wind noise, but my whistle starts at 45 mph when I lower any window about 1 inch. Dealership says it is the fresh air vents...no fix available. Ram customer service has no solution either... can't believe that a $70k has this kind of problems...

I regret to hear your sentiments expressed here, @crisRatliff. Please do not hesitate to follow up with us via PM to provide additional details of your situation so that we may determine how to best assist you at this point.

I have same truck. this noise has been interm since 3000 miles. its worse at 70 mph, slight crosswind from either side. I find that if i close the mirrors ths noise goes away.
I wish mine did but it does not.

My truck's passenger side has this howling/whistle at high speeds above 80 unless (lower when I have a strong head wind...). Retracting the power folding mirrors corrects the issue which isn't a solution but rather a corrective direction. Wanting to get to the root cause leads me to believe this whistle is coming from the light cavity on the bottom of the mirror. The light that emits on the ground from under the mirror is recessed too much and I believe causing the whistle as the air blows across the cavity/hole. I'll try putting some painters tape over the light cavity next time I have some strong headwinds and see if this corrects the issue.

Thanks Mark for your offer of support.

I plan on first performing a static test with the vehicle in my garage using my air compressor and nozzle to recreate the whistle of the light cavity under my mirror. Providing I have enough air velocity from my compressor, I should be able to verify if my assumption is correct or not. The light cavity's shape and rough edges mimics that of a whistle or embouchure plate on a flute.

Attached is a video of one of the whistling episodes.

V/r,

Mike

Dealership replaced my mirror, noise gone. Looks like several new part numbers for this mirror - wonder if any updates were for noise.

*UPDATE* Good news, dealer fixed the wind noise. They claim it was a missing bolt in the A/C housing pass through. Bad news, they scratched my dashboard in several places. They are now replacing my entire dash. Crossing my fingers I'm not left with squeaks and rattles. Truck only has 200 miles!

I performed the initial static test using my air compressor and didn't have any luck duplicating the noise. I believe my compressor wasn't putting out enough air flow to mimic the issue. I will update when I can try taping over the light hole and see if that corrects the noise issue.

The mirror is not the issue for this problem. For the noise that everyone is posting about (tea pot, Morse code) it is coming from the door seals. Next time you have it, squeeze the front most pillar and the seal on the window together and the noise will go away. I put backer rod in that seal and my problem is gone.

I have had my 2019 Ram 1500 in the service department shop 5 times for this exact issue. It has been in for over 30 days at this point. They have replaced all of the seals around every crevice in the entire truck as well as taken off the side rails and reattached them and replaced the entire dashboard. Literally NOTHING is fixing the problem. I sent a lemon law letter last week because I just can't take it anymore. The service department at my dealership said "all the trucks are making the same crosswind noise and Chrysler hasn't come up with a solution yet". For the price I paid for my truck, and now having gone without it over an entire month, that is ridiculous. I am just praying they honor the lemon law letter, and I can get into a truck that doesn't drive me absolutely NUTS every single time I drive it. I'm so disappointed. My 2017 Ram 1500 didn't have this problem at all. If it weren't for an accident in which that one was totaled, I wouldn't have even gotten a new one.

Hi just got my truck 1 month ago and discovered this annoying noise and after reading these post i new i had no chance at the dealer so i got on the problem my self..i noted that wen it rain the bottom side of the window get wet in a way that the rain drop wanted to come inside.. so i decided to install a wind deflector...so from working in ventilation i got this idea..i took the vent shield off and boflex 4 inch dryer outlet and slid in the up part of the mirror it simple finger nail pull..so i took a ride and the noise is complete gone or almost..well i will do more adjustment (((but i no the source of the noise is there))))..probable to make a more angle curve..here is picture of this try out..
