I went thru THREE weeks of dealing with AT&T to get my hotspot activated on my 22.
As others have reported, you can turn on the hotspot in the truck, connect to it, and access the AT&T website (that is the ONLY site).
But it fails on the last step.
I eventually got forwarded to the Office of the President, and had a dedicated Car Connected Specialist working with me, and they did eventually get the hotspot working (manual activation on their end).
As good as I could understand it, there was a block of IMEI/ICCID numbers that didn't get transmitted properly from FCA to AT&T for hotspot authentication.
I did not have any access to the internal diagnostic screens in UConnect5 to verify information.
HOWEVER, my Connected Services WERE working thru AT&T, for door locks, remote starts, and vehicle health reports. So, this not an internal modem problem.
in my AT&T account, my hotspot still has a phone number, but I did not renew after the trial (my phone has 20GB of hotspot). The AT&T rep stated If I didn't renew within 3 months that the account would be dropped, and the vehicles phone number for the hotspot would be lost.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, on a new vehicle that has never went thru a new hotspot activation thru AT&T, you might be screwed for now (since there is an obvious problem).
If you let the hotspot lapse more than 3 months without an active subscription, you may fall into the same problems, since this would probably require a "new" activation (since the info was dropped out of the system).
I guess I was glad I had a dedicated person @ AT&T working with me. They were stumped at first, but it was submitted to engineering/network ops for troubleshooting.
The regular CSR reps on the AT&T Car Connected Side are clueless.
It will NOT do you any good to call UCONNECT. Its all on AT&T.
