First one I e seen. How’s the quality? Was thinking about doing the AVS one. Does it clip on the hood at all or just attach underneath?
Quality is the same as any other I suppose. Weathertech has a good reputation. It clips between the under-hood rubber seal and the hood. You replace 6 OEM push pins with 6 they give you. Took about 30 mins.
I preferred this type of installation over the 3M taped versions out there cause all kinds of dirt and grit gets sucked up inside of there if it's not completely sealed; I found that out after removing a spoiler from my Camaro.

Went an hour to the dealer for the service bulletin for the brake squeal that they said my parts were in for, the brake pedal recall that they said the parts were in for and a loud squeak coming from the ball joint.

Walked out 4 hours later with ONLY the brake pedal recall done.

They ordered the wrong parts for my brake squeal (front brakes instead of rear even though the bulletin clearly says rear)

They also said my ball joint is shot and needs to be replaced so they are ordering that part. How thats possible after 3,800 miles is beyond me.

Waste of a day mostly

What are your thoughts on the Paragon cover? Their price is great, but I don't have any experience with their unique design. Does it leak?
There is a small amount of leakage, but nothing bad. I would not be worried about a suitcase or backpack, but wouldn't leave anything that doesn't like any kind of moisture (blankets, sleeping bags) in the bed for long term. But I have to point out that what little I saw was after using a wand at the car wash.

So those bolts are just there but are covered in paint? I’m going to install my boards next week. What is die?
Kraken covered the picture of a die. The size for the studs for the brackets is M8 x 1.25, you might be able to just use a nut but I like the die approach, it's meant to cut threads.

The bottom two studs of each grouping of three, will have a bunch of paint on them. The upper single studs will probably just be dirty. Twelve paint crusted studs in total, six dirty ones.

And how do you use it? Does it attach to a drill?

It goes in something like the picture here, with the round part in the middle.

Do a google search for "tap and die set". They can be expensive but also go on good sales at various places sometimes, in Canada they go on for half price or better sometimes at Canadian Tire.

You don't want this on a drill, it is meant to be used carefully.

Under the truck I used it with no handle and only one handle depending on which stud, things are in the way under there.

Finally got to painting my calipers. Also blue on the Hemi 5.7L lettering in the hood badges and the LIMITED lettering on the door moldings.

Installed a set of Westin Pro Traxx 4.

Most time consuming part was running the die over the studs to remove the paint so the nuts would thread on. Brush them off with a wire brush on a dremel, then clean them up with a die.

The truck is so dirty.
jsquid,

If you would please post a side picture of entire truck. Those brackets look sturdier than most or is that a cover over the brackets? thanks.

Those are covers, but the brackets are pretty sturdy. If it isn't teaming down rain tomorrow I'll grab a close up of the brackets, and of the whole truck.

Cheers
