Weather was decent enough today to rid the winter grime and salt that the manual touchless bay couldn't handle the last two months. Hit it with pressure washer, then snow foam cannon, pressure wash rinse and then a 2-bucket wash. Followed up with drying with microfiber towels with a diy sealant/wax spray.

Weather has been horrible for washing. Have had a day or two of good weather but the forecast with either rain, snow or ice prevented me from expending the time needed for a good, detailed wash.

Here’s just a couple pictures after doing a good exterior detailing

I washed with chemical guys citrus wash
Glazed with chemical guys glassworkz glaze
Waxed with chemical guys butter smooth wax

Wheels I used meguirers tire cleaning and endurance gel

I’m not chemical guys biased, wanted to give them a try.

Pictures don't do it justice because I either had shade or another vehicle in the way :p

On a clear day, I can see Seattle from my house.
Changed air filter and sat with the top cover of the airbox in my hands for a minute contemplating removing the charcoal screen. The armchair engineer in me just couldn't wrap my head around why all of a sudden after years of normal operating airboxes not having these, why now? EPA? Conspiracy? Overall wastefull/lazy engineering? A real head scratcher! Just as many questions as to what would be the benefit of ripping it out popped in my head.

Chose to leave it for now until one of the pioneers of "charcoal filter removal" shows mpg or hp gains or something else beneficial to it's removal.

The charcoal filter in the air filter box absorbs any fuel vapors that may want to escape from the intake system to the atmosphere while the engine is off. Then, on next startup, intake air flow draws off any collected fuel from the charcoal. My 2010 Tundra had it, too. It's fairly free-flowing. My opinion: EPA driven, and an easy way for vehicle manufacturers to claim lower emissions overall, though probably insignificant compared to what escapes to the atmosphere at any gas station in a day.

It looks good! Are you pleased with the fit over the all-weather mats? That’s been one of my concerns but it looks like the storage unit lays relatively flat under the seat even though it overlaps the mats.

Well I’m home sick today and the dealer asked if I wanted my pedal recall installed at the house.

Sure, why wouldn’t I.

Now I have a CEL and the tech doesn’t know how to clear it. Come on people. How and the f**k.

Battery disconnect twice. So didn’t save me any time.

@PorBoy I still like the Rebel wheels also. What are the specs on the new wheels/tires. Rather than take a loss on them maybe keep them so you can swap/rotate them when you want a different look? You can also refinish them to get another look.
That said, if you still want to get rid of them, if the price is right, since I’m local, I will consider taking them off your hands so I can have a spare myself to do that.

Looks good! Do you have air ride? I want to go 22x10 but keep getting told I can only do 22x9 with air ride
