What did you do to your Ram today???

Not so much what I did to it but what I did for it and my other vehicles. Shell Rotella Gas Truck Full Synthetic is on sale at advance auto for $10.49 per 5qt and $2.49 per 1qt. $160 later and I have 5 oil changes in the ram, 4 in my commuter, and 2 in my wife's car covered lol.

I put on new wheels and tires.

Helo HE900 wheels. 20x9 - 0 offset
Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S SL tires. 275/60R-20

I'm very happy with them, so far. Put about 300 miles on them this weekend. They are not quite as quiet as the stock tires were, but they are still very quiet. At 75, I can't hear the tires over the wind noise. And that is with the radio off - which I normally never even do.

The 0 offset wheels bring everything right out almost to the edge of the factory fender flares. Looking down the side of the truck, I can see the shoulder of the tires some, but no tread.

The lettering on the tires was covered with some blue stuff. I figured I was going to have to scrub it off. But, after just 300 miles of driving (a very short period of light rain in there) and it is all pretty much gone on its own. Weird...

My stock wheels were 22", with stock tires that are 32". I really like the look of the 20" wheels with 33" tires a LOT better. Hopefully, I will stop getting curb rash on my wheels now, on 4" tall curbs...

(yes, my truck is dirty as heck!)

Only thing I did today was out on some miles, but seems I have to play a little catch up. Picked up my new Built to Serve edition in Ceramic Gray a week and a half ago. Since bringing it home it has gotten shift knob overlay, in-channel vent visors, tailgate badge delete, black lug nuts, Borla ATAK exhaust, added some patches to the seats, spray in bedliner, and a dash cam.

Have a Gator EFX roll-up tonneau on order, and still need to get tint and ceramic coat done.

Love that paint color. Did you do the blackout tailgate badge or did it come that way?

How was the process of removing the original emblem? I have a blackout one coming and have watched a few videos on the process Was curious if it was as cumbersome as the videos make it out to be

I didn't want to mess around with a heat gun and fishing line.. so I just took the inside tailgate panel off and attacked it from the inside.. Needle nose pliers and popped the fastners loose.. then pulled it off from the outside...the 3M sticky comes off easy mostly... few residual spots but you can get it off..then just snap the new one in.

what is your plan to install the bed cover? i noticed you have the MFT tailgate. i would like to get the same cover if it can be made to work

I ordered those aftermarket braces made out of 3/8 steel...if it doesn't work with those then it's not going to have braces on it and it's going to have a bed cover...

As long as your toddler doesn't tarzan off the swing doors I think you'll be alright.. Under normal operation opening and closing (not slamming the gate) I see no flex in the bed sides.. so it's just FCA covering themselves... just be easy w/ it and you'll be alright.. don't go doing any beer pong table slams at the football tailgate off it I guess.

Finished up my rear bumper LEDs yesterday. Lights and brackets took 15 min total, running the power from my Trigger 4 controller under the hood to the rear of the truck...2 hours with a fish tape by myself.

Obligatory, video coming soon.

That was my train of thought too. The heat gun process looks brutal

I have not installed my running board lights yet on my Ram, but when I put them on my prior F-150, I used clear silicone to adhere them to the body after using the standard 3M tape (your gorilla tape). I covered the light strip in clear silicone and I covered the wires (laid them in a bed of silicone) at any place where they traversed a corner of metal or made a hard direction change. Wires have a tendency to rub and eventually will rub raw and expose copper leading to a possible short. If you do not cover them in silicone, my suggestion would be for you wrap them in wire harness tape, then corrugated wire loom to protect them from rubbing on the frame or body and shorting out eventually.

I know RamVader used sprinkler wire, which is covered in rubber and designed to run underground, so I am sure it is well insulated and prepared to deal with adverse conditions under your Ram.

Good work so far. Looks great. RamVader is a really good source of information.
Thanks. I was hoping for suggestions. I like the idea of the clear silicone.

This deserves its on post.
I don't know how to move it. I probably should've started one in the "Exterior" threads but this is where the conversation started. If a moderator wants to move it or copy it then that would be okay with me. I guess it would get lost in this thread.

Added some UV Black Lights to the truck this weekend. I wired the lights to a trigger 4 Plus so I can control when I want the lights on or off

Looks amazing RamVader.

I took out my cloth seats and upgraded to Katzkin Leather.

Not sure if I did it correctly but I did create a thread, "Lux PowerStep Lights" in the "Exterior" section. I just did a copy and paste. For those interested, here is the link:

Getting LLumar PPF as we speak, NtxClearBra. Getting the front, headlights, entire front fenders, entire hood, door handle pockets, A pillars, B pillars, strip above the windshield, door edges and a protective strip along the top of the tailgate so I wont scratch it when closing

Curious if you would share your cost on this?
