What did you do to your Ram today???

Thought would add this, finally had a chance to post, we did a AK trip recently and the truck did great. It averaged 12 - 13 mpg towing which is not bad. The truck has 23 gallon tank and on time it was a possible concern was not Alcan highway; but in Montana (jeez it can be sparse there).

I have since added air bags which should help leveling and the bit of bounce.

Overall, it was great trip and the truck was great. Oh, the RAM dealer in Fairbanks wanted $230 for oil change! I found local shop to do it.

What did you buy for air bags? Did you get ones with remote control or push buttons you mount in the cab? I have a 19' trailer with 800-900 tongue weight so might need air bags to level out and reduce the bounce as well.
Also please tell us more about your truck in your signature block, model, options, year etc.

i had mine done in Anchorage when I went in August.
did you have fun between Destruction Bay and Tok? loll

@Laramieblue, the air bags - air lift HD 1000, I installed the value next to the license plate. Yes, @boogielander we did and we were there in August as well. We had some interesting weather for sure. Couple of days while in Healy we had 60+ gusts, at least we had setup camp by then.

@W Six we have no regrets about getting it, so easy getting into places and even though we a good amount of chilly rain and high winds in AK it never felt small.

Finished getting the mudflaps clearanced. I had to bend them but since they have a metal plate across the bottom it will help to keep the shape. I have about a half inch of rake on the drivers side and about an inch on the passenger side. The front is level side to side so I assume it’s because of my 33 gallon tank. I’m going to look for a half inch rear coil spacer or make one of my own. Anyone know of a source for a half inch rear coil spring spacer? Have the 4 wheel alignment appointment scheduled in a couple weeks.

Dang I like that color 😍

I just saw my new truck at the dealer waiting for a new sensor cable to get installed before taking ownership. Unfortunately hydro blue color was not an option so I had to get forged blue which I am not that happy with.

Has anybody done a complete color change utilizing PPF or vynal wrap materials?

I looked some over and their quality seem to be much better than in the past. Getting an new paint job will cost about $20K but these wraps range from $5k to $7k and provide some protection to original paint.

PDX wraps has some pictures of what they did, sure like some of the metallic blues in the pictures Color Change Wraps | PDX Wraps

The new truck doesn't come with mud flaps, anybody have any suggestions other than Mopar's?

Why are you buying a truck that you're not happy with?.

Dam good question, wanted a larger truck I could tow my TT since the tacoma was not the best choice and the Ram has all the nice features and mileage over Ford and Tundra. Unfortunately they stopped offering the hydro blue so I went with the forged blue. Guess I just need to get in and drive it a while to really enjoy it. Getting a different color gives me something more to dream about other than catching that 40lb salmon.

oil change and well deserved wash.
I used the zip lock bag method and all was going well until it was not, lol
I used a zip lock bag that a kept to recycle from an amazon order, it had a punch hole that I miss seeing, most of the mess ended up on my arm and floor
I guess I was thinking of you and all those oil changes I have made over the years and none of them came out without a little mess to clean up off the floor or arms. So when I take ownership of my new truck tomorrow I have added the 5 year oil change for $600 package. Without a dip stick to physically confirm the oil level is right I will leave it up to the dealership and and Mopar sensors to make that confirmation, that way if something goes wrong like seized engine I won't be at fault. Nothing worse than an old retired paranoid engineer owning a new truck eh..... ;) 🥃

As an engineer, you should know that oil level sensors have been used for 20 years in other vehicles with little to no issues. They are accurate, and rarely fail. And the manual tells you how much oil to put in

Hasn't happened yet, but about to get new tires. Stuck between BF Goodrich KO3 and Falken A/T4W in 285/70 r18. KO3 are E rated (65lbs) and the A/T4W are C rated (68lbs). The extra 3lbs of the Falkens leads me to believe they can handle a beating, but the extra oomf of an E rated tire gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. I don't tow but do go off road. All opinions welcome
