What did you do to your Ram today???

Ceramic coat question?
When I bought my Tacoma I watch many videos regarding protection the paint job and most common suggestion was to put on a ceramic coating. I bought AvalonKing ceramic coating and put it on after washing, drying, polishing out all minor scratches and using clay to remove debris. Man that metallic blue sure shined and beaded up water like never before. I see they have a buy1 get 1 for free deal so bought 2 for my new 1500 Laramie I should be picking up around Thanksgiving, very appropriate timing eh????

Have any of you applied a ceramic coating before and what did you use, what are your results?
had ceramic coating on my T4R before, thinking it protects the paint.
went offroading for a year and it turns out to be much more work to maintain it than not coating, and doesn't protect much in offroad conditions.

after that i realized it's a truck built to do truck things, not a show car or something that gets hard parked at the mall. Coating it would be a waste of time and money on my end.

Installed the APOC Industries rear control arms and track bar today. These things are beefy. Pics don't really do then justice. The solid track bar is a good 5-10lbs heavier than the factory hollow tube. Greasable poly bushings. The adjustable factor really isn't needed unless I lift the truck higher, but nice to have in case I ever do. Wasn't a night and day difference in driving, but did only do a few miles on the highway. For $160, definitely not going to complain.PXL_20241111_171104120.jpgPXL_20241111_171121541.jpgPXL_20241111_173301303.jpgPXL_20241111_213244102.jpgPXL_20241111_213300402.jpg

You are right about the coat, it is only good for making the removal of bugs easier and prevents from small scratches reaching the color layer of the paint. Also helps the removal of road tar.

I put the Armor Shield IX on my Ram in September 2022 and it has held up very well. I will be re-applying very soon to bring back the slickness and the gloss.
After the ceramic coating I use a product called Reload from Carpro CARPRO | Reload Inorganic Spray Sealant 2.0.

It puts back the glossy shine and slickness to them nasty bugs just fly off the paint.... I just wash the truck then spray it on and wipe it off to see my ugly mug once again.

Here is the video I watch to understand all this auto detailing stuff

Enjoy.

Back to oem wheels for winter. And did my annual oil change. Almost hit 20k. Might be time to trade it in.

Has anybody installed a roof rack or roof rail system on their 1500 Ram that doesn't have the sun roof?+

when I had my 2016 tacoma it had a very nice roof rack system that folded back to be streamline then the cross pieces rotated over to the other rail to lock in and produce the cross rails. Very nice system Black Aluminum Alloy & Nylon Alloy Roof Rack Side Rails for 2016 Toyota Tacoma | A-Premium

The other system I found was the front runner that bolts into a grove on the roof. I don't have my truck yet so do you folks see any groves in the top of your roof that are parallel to the truck sides? https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.c...UG64OebVGYlahNnj4wtgozbWPwisWyIS5ZNJZ4#vidTab

the front runner one is drilling required. ALL offroad rated roof racks require drilling for us.
those clamp on types are just for on road driving. seeing that you probably will take it offroad, the question is, ARE YOU READY TO DEAL WITH DRILLING YOUR ROOF, AND THEN DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES?

just do bed rack and don't over think this dude.

Back on the stock tires and wheels for the moment. The rake is about 1/2 - 5/8 inch which is where I want it to end up. Not perfectly level, but close. Maybe I’ll go up a smidge higher in the front. Or not. The Eibach adjustable clovers make it super easy to dial in the height. The ride is just phenomenal. Have a 4 wheel alignment appointment in a couple weeks. It’s not my daily driver so no big deal. Super happy with how it turned out.

Do the stock wheels clear the JBA control arms fine? I could not find any good comments on their website on whether or not they would clear the stock wheels.
I have the wheels that come with the Backcountry edition so not sure if they are the same offset or not.
