What did you do to your Ram today???

be safe my friend. holla if you need anything.
Thank you, It’s been a crazy evening so far. I’m 20 miles northeast of Tampa and we are getting 90 plus gusts and so far over 20 inches of rain. Bad thing is it’s all happening overnight. Won’t know the damage until tomorrow morning.

Hope you made it out this morning. I'm sure you may not have power or internet right now. 🙏

The opening was the one for OEM bed lights, which my truck does not have. Usually when they bed line these they paint right over the cover plates but, in my case, they seemed to have taken the plates off and did not replace them. So, I drop wires down from the bed, got underneath and followed the frame up to the engine compartment. Rather than hook the wires directly to the battery, I connected them to my aftermarket fuse/switch box. So, the switch in the bed and one on my panel in the cab have to be on for the ports to be active in the bed.

Let me know how it works. Might get one for myself

The Amazon delivery guy for some reason used the ally way today. He walked up to me staring into the bed of my ram while I was shaking it...

So I took the massive envelope from him for this little o-ring. Compared it to the old and installed it. 1000020733.jpg

To test it I slathered it with some sil-glyde and checked the fitment by running her tight then back off then back on to see if the oring moved. The OD looked a touch small in the housing so I wanted to make sure. I checked the seal nothing in nothing out. Some guy once said I had DSL that idiot didn't know I had cable internet.

So time will tell if it is going to work long term.

Loaded up the truck for a family road trip to the U.P and before we wrapped it up the northern lights rolled through. Good start! Truck is there but hard to see. Phone makes it out brighter than it was but it was still great View attachment 191052
hey at least you see the red northern light. and your northern light is bigger than the one i saw!

Darn, thats a tough spot to be in now. While Milton wasn’t quite as bad as they were forecasting, the tornadoes and winds kicking up all that old and new debris would be quite the mess. Not making light of your flooding either.

Imagine that housing resales in the area will drop in price and move slowly even when it is all repaired, not to mention continued insurance issues. What a mess.

Got the AVS Bugflector II in the mail today.

Sent back the AVS Bugflector II in the mail today.

Garbage. Chipped and warped. They send it in a giant box with nothing inside except a plastic wrapped deflector. I've had to return AVS products in the past for this reason but overall had a decent experience for the price, even if I had to drill my own hole on a previous deflector to get proper alignment. But this is the last time. Zero effort to secure their product in inside the package and like an idiot, I didn't check to make sure it was shipped from Amazon and sold by Amazon so now I have to deal with a private seller and their return policy that was drawn up to deny returns. So overall just not happy right now. Not something I usually overlook when buying online especially from Amazon, but the product isn't the first time I've had issues with AVS. It will be the last time though.

But I got 7 quarts of Valvoline's new Restore and Protect oil, so that's pretty cool news. Kinda excited to give that stuff a try.

I bought AVS window vents back in 2012 for my Pathfinder. It's still on there and doing great.

I bought 3 sets of AVS window vents for my Ram. Threw them all away.:ROFLMAO:

Yea I started with the knock offs but there is no space and they kept hitting. Now I have the Mopar ones and the fronts get 5 stars, but the rears get 1 star because of the clips and holes that don't fully seal.

Had an AVS bugflector on the previous FORD and I had to drill a hole so it would align properly. No biggie to me but most people were not fond of paying for a product with such terrible QC and lots of complaints were shared. It's evident to me the AVS back in the 2000 Pep-Boy days is not the same AVS that exists anymore. I think every single thing I've tried from them in the past couple years has been something that belongs on a "blemish" sale, but it's not the PSA blemish kind of thing where you might only get a scratch on a precision machined piece, it's the TJ MAXX blemish thing where one sleeve is 3" longer than the other one... anyways... still annoyed hours later.

Check out the news. It was pretty bad due to the over 20 inches of rain and all the tornadoes. I have seen so many homes here locally that are under water where they have never flooded and so much wind damage. Here is my cousins house where we are at today helping. The river behind his home overflowed and took out the bridge he has. Roads have been taken out it’s just crazy. Never seen it like this and I have lived here 45 years.
Also a road down from where he lives and the river.

Quite the mess. It will be a while before “normalcy” returns.
Hang in there!
Our part of Western S Carolina suffered many downed trees. We were 7 days w/o power, lost all the refrigerator/freezer food etc. We’ve not had anything like this since the 2014 ice storm.
(Not) fun times… 🙄
