What did you do to your Ram today???

I've called my spare garage Acme Speed Shop for about 26 years now, so I decided to add some A.S.S. bling to the Ram today!!

I've pretty much done and built almost everything in the last ~50 years, but Harleys hold a special place for me.

Ikonic Badges in Canada did the badge for me..they do some really cool stuff! They could have done this back-lighted, but unfortunately I chickened out and didn't do it..it would've looked even cooler!!

I finally installed digital rearview mirror camera on my bed rack. I ordered the part maybe a year ago, and finally stopped procrastinating. Actually, I did this about three weeks ago, but also procrastinated posting about it.

The enclosure and bracket are makeshift and maybe a little janky, but they work. The camera is mounted under the rack bar, which shields it from rainy and sun. In fact, the photo of the rearview mirror was taken during the Helene, and the picture is perfectly clear, unlike my surround cameras (in the grill, tailgate, and side mirrors).

The camera is the same one that goes in the LED CHMSL; it's not the Mopar trailer camera, which comes with its own enclosure and brack, so it wouldn't require my janky solution. I wonder if the Mopar trailer camera is wider angle than this one; cars in my mirror look closer than they really are, since this camera is mounted over six feet aft from where it normally would be (in the CHMSL).

Imperfect as it is, I really love having use of my digital rearview mirror again (the bed rack blocks the CHMSL mounted camera).

Continuing with my not-perfect-but-good-enough projects, I made a "kitchen counter" of sorts for my Kufu drawer system. It's somewhat inspired by this much nicer build, but simplified to match my utter lack of wood working skills.

Right now, it just gives me some prep space and a "sink".

I did not do a great job; this was the first time I've ever used a jigsaw or a router outside of maybe high school shop class, and it shows. My staining and sealing job also have a lot of room for improvement. I may redo this one day, but it's functional, and that's what I wanted.

I didn't do a coffee table lift like the linked project. Instead, I just cut a half-circle hole in the end of the "counter", and I can lift that up to store kitchen stuff (utensils, stove, etc.) underneath. Granted, that hole (and the cutout for the drawer's battery pack in the rear left corner) will allow water in while using the sink, so we'll see how well this design works out.

A 5'x5'x3/8" sheet of baltic birch plywood cost me all of $20, and I have some leftover, that if I decide to redo this project one day, all I lost was some time.

Edit: I should note that there's a cover on the "sink", which is a actually a catering pan, so if you thought, that looks way too shallow to be useful as a sink, now you know why. It's still relatively shallow at 2.8", but better than it looks!

Was this a kit or just something you dreamed up? I like where you mounted them!
You can buy the lower grill with mounting hardware from SKT Customs and add your own lights, or you can buy the complete kit, with lights and harnesses, from Vice Design.

New to me and finally clean enough to post a picture of (y)

Also put on the Gatorback mudflaps (no emblem) and bumper step. The bumper step was less than $100 on Amazon and I'm pretty sure it'll kill me one day, but it's a $200ish in savings bet I'm willing to gamble on :ROFLMAO:

I did the same thing with the window deflectors and went cheap. The past couple vehicles have given me issues with in channel ones and this one also needs to be guided occasionally but I think it's more just the molding of the cheap visors. I know the WeatherTech ones make an effort to push outward away from the window and I can see why now because these ones will snag occasionally and there is very little clearance between them and the window, which I noticed while cleaning the windows trying to get my fat nubs and the towel in there. I will likely replace them with the Mopar ones.

The rest of the time I spent crawling under the truck just examining things. It has air suspension and I can't wait to mess with that when it fails this winter /s.

I know they did an oil change and I can see it's fresh oil, but who knows what they used and it's a cheapo AC Delco filter, so that is my next project. I'm willing to bet they just threw some random syn blend in there. Still browsing for ways to avoid making a mess due to the filter location and all, but I think I have one of those guides somewhere in the garage from a previous vehicle with the same issue.

Lastly, I bought floor mats and have used TuxMats in multiple other vehicles, but the RAM won't be one of them. Just terrible fitment. I sent them back and got the MOPAR all weather rubber "slush" mats. When I emailed TuxMat about a return they told me to destroy them, send the picture of them destroyed, and then I'd get my refund. I found that odd on a $200 product and if that's their policy I won't be supporting such waste in the future. Long story short they sent me a return label but what an odd first option. Sucks because they are really good mats, but apparently only in some vehicles and real money laundering vibes going on.

TL;DR: So yea, happy and clean. Planning. That was my day. Took me three days total to detail the interior (at my own pace obviously and lots of 303 to the rescue) and I still need to do my dashcam. Tires are from Les Schwab (Back Country AT2's I believe are made by Cooper).
