What did you do to your Ram today???

Exactly. If I were a single man, I'd do this exact same thing. Wife and 3 kids means a trailer.
Since I picked up a roof top tent the trailer has become our guest house and kids are going camper. However, we've camped a few times in the RTT with the kids.

I'm not sure I want to give up the trailer, but I could go for a smaller one, and ours isn't that big. I just don't like dragging it around.

Nothing against the rtt guys, but I'm not giving up my a/c and memory foam  . I just wish I had a king size instead of a queen. I've gone from sleeping under the stars to having my creature comforts, and I'm not going back ha. If I was you, I'm taking the camper and the kids are going in the tent

We have a Chevy Traverse in our garage for when we need to take the whole family. It's the SUV with the best passenger space with 3rd row seating. Others might have more cargo space, but that takes away from passenger space. I'm 6'5" 270lbs and can fit in the 3rd row. Granted not much headroom, but it's possible. We do week long family vacations in it with no issues.
The GMC Acadia has even more headroom in the 3rd row.
I couldn't fit my head through the opening to the rear in a Traverse, but on the Acadia I could.

If we take the RTT when it's hot, we go to the lake. We took it to a campground this summer, and lugged up the portable A/C we had in our old popup. 😁

I don't know what they call them, but I want one of those tall teardrops. Where you can stand up inside, have a futon or bed and kitchen out back. We could pull that with her Jeep.

Yeah those are nice. We have a 24 footer with bunks and it suits us perfectly. There's times when I would love to have something bigger for more room, but I have to remind myself that we basically just use it to sleep in. When were camping, 95% of the time we're outside.

We have a 21' with bunks, and we use ours as a glorified tent. Don't spend much time in it either.

I'm dumbfounded by the giant class A's with a retired couple and their poodle who head to the lake, but never leave the camper.

Agreed. I briefly tried to talk the wife into a toy hauler. She told me I would basically just sit in the camper garage part and drink beer all day and I can do that at home in our actual garage

We love our Traverse. It's a very comfortable road trip vehicle.

My wife is the opposite, clinging to her 09 Jetta. To be fair she absolutely loves it, first car she bought herself new, and it’s been the most trouble free car we’ve ever owned, by a lot! Literally zero problems ever.

I’m trying to put her up in something bigger and more comfortable but she refuses, even though she’s in love with the MDX type S and the Cayenne.

She also hates jewelry and shopping.

I’m a very lucky man.
I am right there with you, the wife has an '04 Corolla that she is in love with. Only issue ever with it was the A/C compressor literally split in two about 3 years ago, it was at the dealer for the air bag recall and it exploded in the middle of the night. I think I still have the video somewhere, they actually covered all the repairs.

She also hates shopping, I try to get her to pick up some new clothes or something but nope, even once they wear out it like pulling teeth to get her to purchase something new. Now she will spend hours planning our two international trips a year...some how it still turns out cheaper than my kid and I racing motorcycles for the year.

Good to know! We're all relatively short ha, but with 3 of us playing hockey we need a lot of cargo room. But again, just beginning window shopping. We'll put it on the list to look into. Thanks fella.
And the third row folds flat if you don't need passengers back there. Get the Chevy cargo liner and it protects the back of the third row seat

I sat in the Acadia, and the legroom sucked in the third row. I haven't been in the current generation, but the previous model years(same as my Traverse), it was physically smaller than the Traverse, and the legroom sucked.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm not trying to offend you. I am outing myself on my own ignorance on the nuances of the social medias by asking this question. I'm trying to learn.

So, what is the significance of this? I mean, why does that matter to anyone here? I mean, why did you feel a need to mention that in your post? It's the same question, just 3 different ways of trying to express what I'm really asking.
because some forum members follow me on my instagram?

If my wife read this, she would say "geez, why doesn't he just get a camper?":ROFLMAO: Seriously though, I admire the thought and work you've put into your truck, sounds like you're almost ready for your next big trip
lol the reason why i didn't go full camper is the weight. this GFC is only 295lb empty and is the only camper that can withstand Baja actions lol
lightweight and ability to withstand all the offroads, washboards, dips, and jumps are the only two boxes.

I understand that. But, why was it important to let them know you posted the pics here before you posted them on IG? I mean, if they see that message, they are seeing the post with the pictures.

I'm just trying to understand. If they saw your post (with that message and the pics) and you didn't tell them you posted it here first, would they have been confused somehow? They would see it here, then they might go look for the same pics on IG, not find them yet, and ....?

I guess I just don't understand how the IG works or, at least, how you're using it.
