Water leaks!

Hey all,

Seen similar threads in this issue, but the more complaints, the more likely FCA will actually do something about it.

My 2019 2500 limited has been plagued by water leaks. First, through the sun roof catching the metal and not sealing properly. That caused water to leak through the overhead console (light switches and sunroof control) and through the left driver grab handle. I took it to the dealership, was given a rental truck, and a week later told the issue was fixed. Fast forward two weeks.

Consistent rain finally came, was happy to see the normal leak spots weren’t an issue anymore. Left the truck overnight, parked slightly up-hill on my driveway and found the next morning a waterfall from the rear dome light and rear left speaker. The seats were soaked, wavy, and the floor was of course drenched.

For a brand new truck, in 2019, for as much as FCA wants for these vehicles, this is unacceptable. I doubt my seats will ever be back to their former glory after this, not to mention the headliner and the countless hours dealing with this issue. I’m bringing it back to the dealership after the holiday.

I’ll keep y’all posted. Anyone else have issues?

Headliner can't be replaced without removing the windshield or rear window.

There appears to be no quality control on these trucks. Rams have had leak issues for a decade or more. That's just lazy.

Bummer. I had a 2012 big horn for 7 years and loved the thing. Honest to god no issues. Was excited to upgrade to the 5th gen but this poor truck has been a nightmare.

It's a bummer for sure.
This is my first ever Chrysler. They've been on my "do not buy" list for 30 years. I'm holding my breath every time I drive it. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Hope they get you sorted. My 2017 Honda was in the shop 11 times in 2.5 years including water leaks that took them over a month to figure out when it was brand new.

Wait a minute my dealership removed my headliner to look for a rear window leak and they didn't remove either window. And found the leak.

They probably just lowered the headliner. No way to get it out of the truck without going through the windshield or back window.

Well I saw it outside of the truck, that's all I can tell you.

I think the instructions from the factory manual states before you begin you must remove the windshield first.

Maybe it can be done by removing the front seats/center console instead?

Again I don't know. All I know it's out of the truck. Now since they found the metal frame that was made on the rear window cracked they will probably put it back in like you said. Waiting on the window to come in now.

I kinda want to know now if it’s possible to get it out without removing the windshield or rear window because I want to get my headliner recovered in a darker material at some point and was told if the windshield or rear window come out they have to be replaced. Can you ask them the next time you talk to someone about it?

Well when they call me and tell me the rear window is fixed I'll ask the mechanic
