VLand Headlight Install

My issue is I'm getting a driver side blinker hyper flash and the dash saying bulb out.

I used the fuse wire it came with plugged it into f38 did you have this issue? Removed a 10A fuse and put the dual micro fuse plug in which has to 15 fuses in it
Did you find a fix for the hyperflash?

I don't remember a specific fuse being listed in the VLAND instructions back when I bought mine. They could have updated the instructions since then though. I haven't had any issues with the fuse location that I am using. I followed along with a Morimoto installation video and just replicated the same process that they did. Two different headlight brands but same procedure overall. I Linked that video below. Fast forward to 9:45 for that specific portion of the install.
Problem i see is that they say f38 but then pull the f37 5amp fuse for run/stop switch I used f38 dtcm/ active coolant temp valve and a few day later the fan died 🤷🏻‍♂️ not sure why but I probably won’t be putting these back in unless I find a better fuse location

I can’t speak for F38, but I ran it in F37 for over a year without any trouble whatsoever. F35 appears to be another option and it’s actually the location Retroshop recommends using if upgrading to OEM LED headlights. After I made the switch too OEM, I swapped over to F35 with Retroshop’s adapter harness and that also has worked for me without issue.

Well, dunno if this thread is still active but I installed the VLANDs, and then I put my halogens back on 😒. Followed the resources on this forum, everything went smooth and seamless, they worked fine. Used their harness, F38 fuse, put the old 10A fuse into the splitter with their 15A next to it, all good. I just didn’t like them. The light throw/spread is not nearly as good esp at night, especially the brights IMHO, and they look better in the pictures than in real life also IMHO. Looked like I had some Chinese knockoff lights on my truck, which is what they are.

Also I dunno if this is how they work or I did something wrong (I don’t think I did) but when I had the light switch set to “OFF” and the DRL option set to “OFF” the VLAND DRL’s would remain on no matter what, which I didn’t like or want so.

I guess if you want an OEM look you’ll have to pay OEM prices 🤷🏼‍♂️. The good news is I learned how to take the front end off the truck pretty quickly so I guess there’s that.

For those with the hyper flash issue do you have the side marker harness unplugged as per VLand's instructions? If so this is likely where the BCM thinks that a bulb is out. Might be possible to have a harness made with a small 126 bulb inside the fender and see is that fixes the issue.

Mine were doing it with that plugged in or unplugged, I opted to switch them out because as @KAP705 mentions, the light spread was pretty bad.

I returned mine and bought these off Amazon. I would have gone OEM but I didn't like how dim the LED eyebrow was. These work great, plug right in and have had them for about 8-9 months with no issues. My only complaint is the LED strip will sometimes flicker when the headlights are on, I assume when I get a new battery that will stop though.

Those are nice, but they're halogen headlights still. Listing says the low beam is H7 and high beam is H1. So while these likely do perform they are not an LED headlight assembly like the VLand's.

I bought some off ebay , probably same company makes them. I modified mine they were the h7 h1 halogen i made the holes bigger put in some lasfit led bulb assembly left over from my stock light housing. Works good

This what I plan on doing so I have LED where I can just replace a bulb instead of a new set of headlights.

just got some and installed - did fuse 35, took out the 10, and added it in the splitter with the 15, so it’s 10/15 ok the splitter. Seems like it’s working.

But noticing the DRL is on with the low lights. I tried going through Uconnect and turning DRL off but nothing changed.

Any thoughts? Is it something with the Fuse?

The installation instructions on these headlights are subpar in my opinion. There are a few steps that lack information and others that are undefined entirely. YouTube was a big help for me and made it much easier to follow along. If you’re still unsure about anything during your install, shoot me a message and I’ll help guide you through it.
Hello Biggiehorn, I had just purchased me a pair of the VLAND Ram headlights, I saw your post about needing any help, so I figured I'd give it a shot lol. My truck is a 2020 1500 Bighorn. I have one headlight cutting out and acting kind of weird. I told VLAND about it and they said I need a ballast and theyd send me one but I have a good feeling that it isn't the problem. If you had any info, it would be greatly appreciated as I can go into detail about everything, but I don't want to be a bother also, just let me know and thank you for your time.

Just got your DM. I'll reply to your message too, but unfortunately it sounds like you may have a faulty unit like so many others have dealt with. It could be the ballast, but I've also noticed VLAND is quick to blame the ballasts whenever someone experiences issues. The light that is cutting in out, is it the entire light flickering and not functioning properly, or is it just a particular portion of the light? High beam, low beam, DRL, or does the entire light seem to have the same problem? People that experience flickering with the DRLs typically forget to add the little jumper wire that connects both headlights to the fuse box with the Fuse Tap. Did you install that section of the included wiring harness with your install?
