Upgrade 2019 RAM 1500 Infotainment to Uconnect 5

Since i’ts been confirmed that 2022 Ram 1500 will support Uconnect 5, do you think that 2019 Ram 1500 owners will be able to update their system to Uconnect 5. If not, do you think we will be able to replace our current infotainment aiment system with the new Uconnect 5 version?

Ie 21-22 with uc4

Do you have a harness for the main plug of this?

Do you know how to get the power to it?

For the connected services.

All the hvac and other connectors work and yes eBay sells them.

To get the connected services connected you have to install this telelmatic module but
Unless can get this working we loose all these services

Has anyone gotten Sirius XM Guardian to work with the 12” Infotainment? Thats really the only reason I haven’t jumped from my 12” 2021 UC4 to the UC5. Full screen Carplay/Wireless isn’t worth $2k……..yet.

I don’t think sirius xm guardian will ever work with UC5. Seems like they changed everything for UC5

This is the device used since they changed from uc4 to uc5.

It’s called the telematic module.

All cables will plug into this. The missing piece is the harness that powers this and how we can get it to work.

I’ve spoke with many people that offer this upgrade and none of them have figured out how to get this to work.

Some 19-20s I’m told can’t even access the data in alpha to change to get it to function. So thinking maybe later 21s are the only ones that may get to work.

Either way as you can see all antennaes plug into this module and then this module that controls xm/gps/and hotspot is plugged into the radio in the blue port

I don't remember a loudness button for UC4 on the 12" screen(hopefully somebody can confirm). Maybe that was something only on the 8.4 screen?

Not sure. My original UC4 was the 8.4"...

Nope. No one has been able to do this yet

Has anybody got a message in their truck that there might be an update available and want you to try to connect to wi-fi to upgrade?

I’m kinda shocked that it’s showing up since the radio is no longer connected to their system.

so I did the upgrade yesterday and so far everything seemed to be working exactly as expected, accept, the backup camera guidelines automatically disable everytime I shut the truck off. I can turn them back on and they will work as they are supposed to until I shut the truck off again. Anyone else experience this? Solutions? Thanks

I have not had this problem. I didn‘t even have to turn them on after the upgrade(they were on from the UC4 settings).

Yep currently have this issue. What version are you on? I will look at mine as well

My trucks a 2020 I went from UC4 12.1 as well.

Mines a 2019 and came from the 8.4” with NAV and UC4.

I have not had this problem. I didn‘t even have to turn them on after the upgrade(they were on from the UC4 settings).

This is literally the only setting that didn’t carry over and that won’t retain when you shut the truck off. Frustrating…

Out of curiosity, where did you get the wiring harness from? Seems more like a software/programming issue, but so far I’m coming up short and though I would look at other possibilities.

Hi, I updated to uc5 (very nice) but have fakra cables with no place on new module. Here’s a pic of my uc4 module and my ram used all fakra cables but new one leaves pink and burgundy without a spot. Any ideal to where they go and what they do. Thanks

Did you ever figure this out? I had the same and left them unconnected. Everything is working accept retaining the guidelines for the backup camera when you shut the truck off
