Yes, it is partially a software problem, but not exclusively, otherwise I would think that there would either:I never had this problem before, until I had the new motor and supercharger installed and tuned a couple of weeks ago. It has happened to me three times now. I currently have 63,000 miles on the truck. I would suspect it has to be something in the computer?
1) Be far, far more instances of this problem.
2) Be the same amount of instances but distributed over many, many different vehicles. A random software glitch.
I believe that this problem is a rare combination of a hardware (sensor) anomaly triggering a software anomaly. Since you had a non-problematic truck before the motor swap, supercharger and tune you are in a unique position to track this down. I am assuming that the PCM and TCM have remained the same except for the tune. I haven't read about anyone who got a tune triggering this problem, so the issue is most likely with a sensor that came with the new motor or the supercharger itself. My WAG is a sensor in the new motor. Good luck!
