Sway Bar Link Pins/Bushing upgrade for 2019-2022 Ram 1500

I've been having a squeaking nose on one side of my suspension for about a year. Seems somewhat temp specific but becomes pretty annoying. It sounds like rubber or a squeaky spring.

Took to my dealer who said to replace the sway bar, links, upper CA, tie rod, and lower CA... To the tune of $3200. Seems to me it could be something as simple as the sway bar bar bushing given the type of noise. I've tried spraying a silicone lube into the control arm pivot points but it didn't silence it.

Thoughts?

The ones used on the thread accept the stock clamps?
Yea the black or red work with oem clamps

Amazon is the cheapest place to get them.

You think that squeek is likely the bushing?

Seems worth it for me to try. 30 min install and $40 in parts....

Possibly $40 and 20 mins wouldn’t hurt!

I replaced mine hoping to help with the clanking I got when hitting pot holes but it did not help. I am going to buy suspensionmaxx end links since I did a lift .

The end links are why they said I needed a newer sway bar. Apparently it was updated design as the original had some issues of failure at the end links. New one was needed up and the stock end links won't fit.

I was wondering why they didn't just look at after market links that fit the original bar, but maybe they don't work on it either.

Idk... Just seems ludicrous to replace nearly the entire side of suspension and sway bar at 62k miles of highway use.

From what I gather reading through this thread is end links are in fact a design issue that’s why a lot of people went the route of using suspension maxx . But the suspension maxx will work with oem bars from what I’ve read.
I would assume the reason a dealer wouldnt suggest after market is because they can not warranty the parts .

The new OEM end links fit the OEM bar; that was the whole purpose of the new design. Tell me you're out of warranty without telling me you're out of warranty. This is where @RamCares should be involved. Sickening; I'd run from that dealer.

Try this, (Or maybe you already have?): disconnect the sway bar links, drive it around the block, or wherever you notice the noise the most, preferably on a light traffic day, like a Sunday morning, and listen for the same noises. This might help eliminate the item(s) making the noise.

I have a 2019 4x4 Rebel with the original sway bar and MAXX Links, and they fit just fine, however not sure if this applies to non-Rebels.

As I understood the explanation, the new links don't work with the bar on my truck (original). They stated the bar was also redesigned and won't accept the new links. I can't confirm that as I have no clue.

This said I'm not an idiot about mechanical things and suspension components aren't exactly overly complicated so I'm comfortable trying simple things.

I sent ram cares a message, but they seem to be slow to respond at times.

Tbh I wouldn't be at all surprised with this dealership. They do a lot of volume but my sales experiences there are always interesting and I'm sure that trickles to all departments.

Its possible the people at the dealership were just following along to the computer. The newest version states it won't fit a 2020

I realize this as well but I will say I think they were just throwing the kitchen at it. I think I figured out it's coming from the coil. Used an auto stethoscope and it's really loud when on the trip mount. Everything else is relatively quiet in comparison.

Have a feeling I'd pay $3k and be back in a week.

And they’d welcome you back with open arms! :p

New sway bar uses a 21mm nut on the top of the end link, older uses a 19mm nut. My 2020 and 2022 were different.

I believe that they're different. I don't question that. I just don't think replacing them is going to fix my problem. The noise isn't coming from that spot. It's coming from the coil.

Out of curiosity, is the sway bar end basically the same but with different sized hole?

Ok, I've read this thread multiple times.
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 bighorn crew cab 4wd with level lift. Everything else is stock. I have replaced the struts. But still had front end clunk. Replaced the sway bar bushings. Clunk went away for couple weeks. Here it is 6 months and 10k miles later. I assumed it's just whatever at this point. But today noticed front tires are starting to cup. Ever so slight. But it's there. Yes, tires are rotated and rebalanced regularly. But I crawled under truck today and sway bar bushings are shot. Bar moves pretty easily left right up and down. My question is has anyone tried the sway bar linear locks after replacing the sway bar bushings? Would that help the bushings last longer reducing the side to side movement? Yes, I am looking into the suspension maxx links too. 160‐170 on links to save 1400 tires is cheap. Not to mention my sanity from think clunking. But why would sway bar bushings go bad in just 6 month? All highway and in town miles with the exception of a few dirt roads. But no off roading really.

So if I have a 22 ram. Is it 19mm or 21mm? Just had knee surgery, so can't bend down and check

I don’t believe all MY ‘22’s came with one or the other. I think whatever the factory had at the time is what they installed. I’ve heard conflicting size for MY ‘22 so safest bet would be to climb under and check it.

In your case, maybe ask a buddy to give you a hand checking it.

I just checked mine at its 21mm.

I appreciate it. I'll have someone have a look. If course my bumper to bumper warranty ran out, and they couldn't find the knock then.
Now, with the new bigger tires, it's very evident.

Just replaced my front bushings after hearing the clunking noise after awhile. Definitely don't hear it anymore but I believe my rear ones need to be replaced.
Anyone know if the rear stabilizer bar bushings are the same 36mm as the front? I tried looking online but can't seem to find out.

No, rear say bar is a lot smaller. Time for a Hellwig rear sway bar. It comes with poly bushings

Those of you who replaced the front bushings, what torque specs did you use when bolting them back on?
