After a couple of weeks after the dealer installed my seal, I can still here road noise from the right rear. Instead of hearing it at 15mph, I can now start to hear it at 30mph, depending on what type of road surface I'm on. I don't know whether to look into fixing this myself, or go back to the dealer...AGAIN. I really don't want my truck to be this dealer's service department demo for how to take apart and put back together a 2019 RAM. From previous experience, the more you disassemble these types of things and put them back together, the more rattles and squeaks you're going to get later on. I have the Falken Wildpeak A/T tires. I'm certain that is part of the issue. This is frustrating.

Looking at the pics of the vents behind the rear seat backs, it seems a solution would be a snap on cover with clam shell shaped rolled edges. On the inside a sound deadening material to absorb noise. Open around the edges to allow air to still move out of the cabin. My truck is due in a week or so per the dealership if the noise is bothersome for me, I’ll probably be installing the bed to cabin seal and working on an inside vent add on as well. I have few concerns about leaf accumulation sine I live at the shore with few trees close to me and I usually garage my vehicles. Anybody know if accoustic foam allows air to flow though it? (See pic) Maybe just a piece of that attached over the vents with Velcro. Sorry I’m brainstorming here. lol.

I like the idea. Keep us posted.

Some thing like this is what I think you are trying to achieve. This will be my next step after I have my driver side rear door adjusted to seat like the other doors. I do like your idea of foam but maybe as a material between the vent and the mass load vinyl to maintain the function of the vents.

I am experiencing a lot of noise on the interior of my truck which I will detail below. I brought it in for service and they fixed a rattle in the roof (screw had come loose) but the road noise is still loud, if not worse than before.

1. My drivers side window has a sound like a strong wind is blowing at it once I get to around 40mph. This is a new sound and was not present when I got the truck.

2. At highway speeds (60-65+) I have a whistling noise from the sunroof. Sounds like it is I’m either the passenger side middle or passenger side rear corner. This is also new

3. The rear of my truck has excessive road noise. It sounds like there is a direct opening from the back of my truck (worst passenger side). I can hear this as soon as I start moving.

Like I said the dealer had the truck for these problems and only fixed the rattle. I feel that it’s almost worse than before but not sure if now I’m even more focused on it.

I saw some mention of leak specialists on here. Is there a certain place to go for this? It’s driving me crazy and honestly making me pretty mad.

I downloaded a decibel meter on my phone (I know they aren’t the most accurate) but around 30mph I get 70-72. At 65-70mph I’m over 80.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I had time this weekend to work on the sound detener on the rear cab panel. My truck according to the vin was suppose to have a detener on the rear cab. I purchased the factory one from ram and I did not like it, it did not have an adhesive back on it so I purchased some Dynamat Xtreme and used the factory one as a template. The first photo is the rear panel with nothing, the second photo is the rear cab panel using the factory detener as a template, the third photo is me taking it farther. The cab seal shut what sound like a open window, adding the sound detener quieted the cab. I was surprised by the difference. It even made the subwoofer sound better. It doesn’t sound like it’s thumping against a tin can. The only thing I can do to make it even better is to do something with the cab corner on both sides. You can see in the third photo on the far side where you can see the white paint and the wires running up. I think if I put some foam in there I think it would finish it up. On the Limited you recline the seat and then fold down the center console and reach behind the seat back you will feel where the seat is attached to the back wall of the cab there is a cord that hangs down. Pull on that cord and the seat back will fold forward on that side.

Just a warning....DO NOT try to push down hard on the seatbacks too forcefully after releasing if you have heat/vent rear seats. You will break the wire harness. The release is only for limited access to the back wall. Best to remove seats to access. I and others (esp. #john Hable) have posted on here on effectively adding sound deadening material to back of cab.

Has anyone tried to have this missing seal installed under warranty? Kind if suprised how many guys are just buying this. If there is a legit noise/issue and the missing seal fixes the problem it's a no brainier for the dealer to do this for you.

I guess I'll find out when I get my first oil change scheduled along with the 2 recalls, gonna have then get this seal and install it.

Fca just emailed me confirming the dealership will be contacting me to install both the seal and sound deadener shortly.

My cabin is quiet, but I feel there is excessive wind noise coming through both passenger doors at highway speed, especially if it is a windy day.

For example, yesterday it was very windy outside and I sat in my truck during my lunch hour and it was extremely quiet. When I got out of the truck, I couldn't believe how loud the wind was howling because I literally couldn't hear a thing while inside the truck. However, when driving home on the freeway doing 70 - 75, I feel like the wind noise is excessive for a brand new truck.

It is most noticeable coming from the passenger front door, and the rear passenger door to some extent. The doors appear to be mounted flush, and the gaps appear to be fairly consistent all the way around.

On two separate occasions, the wind noise was very excessive, like whistling through the cabin. I had to roll the passenger front window down then up and it went away.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I being overly critical? When I drive in other people's vehicles I try and listen to see if they are as noisy as mine is, and now it's all I can notice, even when I turn the radio up.

You hear how quiet the cabins on these new RAMs are supposed to be, and I agree when it comes to road noise, but wind noise-- not so much.

I have a feeling that the dealer is going to say its normal.. should I insist that they try to adjust the doors and/or replace the door seals? My fear is that it's only going to get worse if they start messing around with it.

Any advice would be appreciated.
I have the same problem with my truck theirs to much air noise from front doors

Had my truck in for service to look at the excessive road noise. They said they think it’s due to the rear seal (mentioned on here). They said I would have to pay almost $200 to have it fixed since it’s not an included part. Anyone else have to pay the dealer for this?

I just bought mine online for $15 and installed it myself. For that money...Saved me from spending even 1 second at the dealer...

Tell them to pound sand!! your truck is under warranty....part is missing...replace it. Its a $12 part if you buy it (free through warrantee) and takes 15 mins to install. Maybe 20 if you are doing it yourself, laying on your back under the truck.

I’m pretty confident that I found the sources of the excessive wind noise that I am experiencing.

The passenger side view mirror molding is loose, and the passenger side rear door is not seated flush towards the bottom of the door.

I have an appointment next Friday to have the recalls taken care of. They’re also going to look at these two issues as well as the front bumper/ fascia misalignment, HVAC TSB, Uconnect update, and check to see if there are any module updates. 4307F8B2-F493-4302-8470-C7C860ABAE19.jpeg 2D1D47B8-3E28-4D1C-8975-E275151DB158.jpeg

Just had my truck in for first oil change and 2 recalls. When I made appointment I gave them the part number for the seal (thanks to this forum) they ordered it and installed it all under warranty. They were confused because the other trucks they looked at didn't have it either. I had to show them where it went .

I have the same problem with my 2019 Big Horn. There's excessive road noise from the passenger side front door. Not so much from the back door. I had it in to the dealer and they took it for a drive. They said they couldn't find any issues with it. This truck is much louder than the one I test drove.

Mine has the wind noise coming from the rear passenger area. Most likely the cabin vent on the back wall that equalizes the pressures when the hvac is on. I’ve found if I turn off the hvac from the climate screen (12” system) the road/wind noise disappears/dissipates. I’ll be dropping mine off at the dealer today for this and other issues. @RamCares has been great in creating a case for me at my local dealer.

Where do you find/see if your vehicle is supposed to have the sound deadening material installed? I just looked on mopar site for my vehicle and didn’t see anything listed. Sorry for the noob question but I’m taking mine in for the road/wind noise tomorrow and would like to have this info also if possible. Thanks for the help in advance.
