Link to another thread on this topic where I posted part and source details for a true pro filter relocation job. Do not use rubber hoses with hose clamps. Don’t use the cheap crap. My project uses professional motor sports parts and custom made/crumped lines with AN -10 fittings.

I would replace the hoses with high pressure / high temp braided lines with crimped AN 10 fittings. I wouldn’t trust a hose clamp for this.

What he said. You don't' want one of those rubber lines to get nicked by road debris while you are driving - by the time you realize what happened it might be too late

I tried the ziplock bag thing and it turned out worse than if I would have just hosed myself with the the damn oil filter.

Going to order this today and put it on during my next oil change.

It shouldn't have been bad, you need to use two large zip log bags. After you break the filter loose, do a half turn, then put on the first bag, then keep turning until it starts to drip oil. Then wait about 30 seconds until it stops, remove the first bag and set aside (I put in my drain pan).

Then slip on the 2nd zip lock bag and finish unscrewing the filter. Once the filter drops, keep the bag there for another 10 seconds to get the additional oil coming out of the filter mount. Once that stops, that should be it. Did it my first time, literally didn't spill a drop.

Maybe try it one more time this way before installing an aftermarket kit that may void your warranty.

Piece of cake man, I spill less oil changing our filter than side mounted filter on my old Jeep using the this 2 zip lock bag method.

Just make sure to use the larger zip lock bags. On the 2nd bag, right about when the filters is about to come off, remember to hold the top of the big with your other hand so when the filter drops off, you are ready to pick up the oil that comes out of the mount. It's about 1/4 quart that comes out, takes about 10 seconds.

Installed it this weekend. The hardest part was tightening the hoses to the base where the old filter was. Do yourself a favor and make sure you have an open end wrench, the shortest one you can find, that flits the hose end so that you can get in that tight space. All in all is is a very nice kit with some high quality pieces. It also uses the same stock filter size so you do have to worry about getting a different filter.

I found that having it straight up and down like that would cover the filter in oil. My Ford had it at an angle and once you let it drain out, the filter was fairly oil free. I will see how it does on my next filter change.

I didnt get the kit but the pieced together version near the top of the thread. I seen that it won't work in that location with the air dam in place so I'm going to have to put it somewhere else.

The one that I installed is in the same place as CajunHeat, I have the air dam and there is no problem mounting it there.

Installed the Pacbrake kit the other day. Thankfully I have a large arsenal of tools as it is a tight fit tightening some of the fittings. Crows feet with socket extensions are a must. Overall, the installation went well and took an additional 3/4 quart of oil.
