Rebel GT Exhaust question

can you show a closer picture of the y-pipe after the muffler? I wonder if there is an internal butterfly valve that when theres enough pressure directs the exhaust out the new/different resonator side which has less restrictions or different construction making it sound louder etc.
 
Weird it changes only one different resonator.
Manufacturer's and aftermarket do so much research now with sound and harmonics... the like the "trombone" pipe for one side of the exhaust on the new Raptor. I wonder if that's what's going on here.
 
Looks like stock exhaust? I got a good look at mine when it was replaced and I stashed it. I expected the G/T exhaust to look much different.

Also, when I got my Ram Airflow installed at the dealer, a lady there asked if they "owed" me this. I jokingly said "um....yes?" and then asked why she asked me that, and she said it was because certain trucks that were supposed to come with it from the factory we arriving without it, and they were having to order the part, wait 6-8 weeks, (I had to wait 6) and then install it for the customers.

So 100% some G/T's are arriving not fully G/T'ed.
So it sounds like they are shipping GT's without all the goodies and retrofitting them in field... like the Bronco hard top, etc.? I guess with all the supply chain and labor shortage issues this is a new reality. Which totally sucks. Hopefully, if you take delivery there's paperwork documenting what's owed to you.

Maybe the question is: Getting your truck with some options that have to added weeks/months later -or- waiting weeks/month longer for a complete truck. Pick one.

Ford is also moving towards sending considerably less trucks to dealerships and having people place orders and wait. Personally I think the industry can function just fine with only a handful of "on-demand" vehicles and extended wait times for the exact one you want.

The trick is that dealerships are going to have to start offering locked-in trade values by default, so you can continue to drive what you already have till your new one arrives without losing dollars every mile.

I honestly wouldn't mind moving to ordering cars. You can get exactly what you want. Locking in trade value would be huge.

My dealer locked mine in knowing it would take at least 3 months to get my truck (it took a little less than that). So it's definitely a thing they can do. I had to make a non-refundable deposit though, which was fine because my trade value AND purchase price were both locked, so it's a give-and-take but definitely workable.
 
They locked my numbers in as well. Only thing that will change is the payoff value on my truck. And he said we could take advantage of better lease numbers if they exist at the time. But no worse.

But hearing all of the stuff I have heard now, I will DEF be making sure when I take delivery that I have it as ordered or I have a piece of paper saying it will be at such and such date.

It is a stock G/T exhaust..... I have been all over the G/Ts at work. They did a nice job of keeping it that way. I really like the ay it sounds.

1, Plenty of inventory currently for the RAMairFLOW kit. 2, because it takes you six weeks to get a part doesn't indicate that the factory/assembly line is short on parts. Example, let's say your hemi engine blows up. There are none at dealerships or in depots for delivery(complete backorder), they won't just send you an engine from the assembly line. I waited 4 weeks to get rear air springs for a Grand Wagoneer. Yet they were installing them on new builds.

Okay, but the dealership was very clear when they told me that they are receiving incomplete vehicles that they have to then order parts for. I don't know if that means they are short on those parts, but it definitely means that Stellantis is cutting corners to get trucks out.

That's not how Stellantis cuts corners. They have removed some things from vehicles, but they issue a credit on the build sheet. Then if they want said options added they can add them. For example, hitches on the new grand cherokee. If you had one ordered, they left it off and gave a credit on the build. Then once they are available you can add it. From what I have seen in the dealership, it's just missing the hitch, wiring is good to go.

If the part is on the build sheet and isn't on the car then that's a miss built vehicle. Then the dealer gets to fix it. I was able to get a wireless charger that way, big horn was built with a limited console I kept the charger for myself. I have used it in 2 trucks and will put in my next truck.

Customer takes delivery of the bike, and if they want the dealer orders the black covers free of charge and wait the months it takes to come in, while still riding the bike.

Yup. My dealer has had trucks arrive without tonneau covers, running boards, the Ram Airflow, etc. While I was there, a guy was having the power running boards installed on his Limited cause it came from the factory without them.

So it wasn't anything major like having the wrong engine or something, but the type of stuff that would get put on after the truck is built (there's a specific code for that status, forget what it is...), some of it just wasn't getting on there.
 
Nothing at all.
Noticed the resonators have different number embossed on them than the stock resonators have. Ill be installing what i have tomorrow afternoon, and see if i can tell any appreciable difference in the stock versus G/T from left to right with the G/T exhaust.

This is interesting. I wonder if something is more "straight thru" on the gt exhaust. Looks nearly identical to the regular exhaust.

Do all the ones you've worked on sound like this? This is a cold start on my "GT"....
