Random Blower Motor Noise

I’ve had mine at the dealership for weeks now, one for a transmission issue and the other for this blend door issue. Transmission has been replaced and they can’t figure out the blend door issue
It has been reprogrammed at least three times and always comes back with the same issue. I don’t foresee this issue getting resolved this time around since no one has posted a fix for this yet.

Hi Smon,

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately I do not have this capability, however, if you are willing to send over your case number via PM I would be happy to document a request for a supervisor follow up within your case.

Would love for a fix for this to happen. I’ve had mine in several times for this issue and is at the dealer right now for it again.

Add me to the list. Happened while doing 75mph on the interstate.
Thought the windshield seal blew out on the passenger side.
2020 Limited build date July 2020. So they are still leaving the factory with this issue.

Really sounds like the fresh air intake blend door since the loudness of the air is dependent on vehicle speed. Driving at 70 it’s very noticeable driving 40-45 you can hear it but it’s not as loud of a whooshing sound when it closes back up.

I have the same issue, its good to know that I wasn't going crazy thinking it was only me.

Same. Always happens on interstate. Just recently happened on a 360 mile trip to TN.

I don't understand. Are you saying there's a fix? This issue has been happening since the 5th gen came out in 2018.
Is there a fix? If so, I'll PM you and begin the process of fixing it. If not, what is the plan?

Agree. No reason to deal with a dealer that's just going to say they 1) Can't reproduce it or 2) Tell us it's normal.

Clearly it's widespread. RamCares, how about you tell us if there's a fix and/or if FCA/RAM has acknowledged there's an issue. If so, I'll be glad to set an appointment for weeks into the future and deal with all the hassles involved in getting my truck in for service. In the meantime, it isn't worth the effort because the RAM Service system is broken and sucks big giant testicles.

Same goes for:

-- Transmission Clunk

-- Inadequate A/C Performance

-- Loud / Defective Ventilated seat fans

-- Squealing brakes

RamCares appears to be mostly lip service.
I wish their primary intent was to make their customers satisfied, but I'm afraid they have other concerns that take priority over that one.

Yeah, taking your truck in for this issue is a waste of time. There is no fix at this point. But maybe if everyone keeps taking their trucks in for this issue, we can waste enough of their time and resources to have them finally do something about it. I'm not sure which thread went into more detail, but its a software issue with controlling the servo motors for the fresh air flap.

You would think it would be easier to have some engineers fix it rather than deal with all this crap. But instead they pay some person to peruse the forums and tell everyone they are here to help and that they care about your concerns.

Hi @Buz, our role here is to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for an additional layer of support as you work with your dealer. Once escalated, you will be connected to a specialist who will assist you and the dealership in exhausting all available resources to have the concern addressed and resolved. Our team also keeps track of trends such as this so that the appropriate parties are made aware of what concerns our customers are experiencing. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to assist in resolving this for you, please send us a private message if interested in receiving this level of support.

I would like to provide some updated information on behalf of your listed concerns. On behalf of your A/C performance, please know that TSB #24-001-20 has been released to address inadequate performance. In addition, TSB #05-004-20 is available as a response to anyone experiencing a rear brake noise. I recommend following up with your dealer to discuss your symptoms and receive these services if necessary. Our team is also available to you for support to ensure that your concerns are met with the highest standard of care.

Anybody get these issues resolved yet? I have this issue that is accompanied by a whistle / hiss whent he recirculation door is shut, that is very annoying. Doesn't seem like a software issue but rather a design issue that is allowing to much pressure to be pushed into the cab at highway speeds through the recirculation door area. If I barely crack a window it does this too, but if I turn the recirculation door off or open it goes away. Tons of dust come into my cabin on dirt roads also, weird. I haven't ever experienced this before on another vehicle, newer yukon doesn't nothing like this. My truck is at the dealer right now but I'm afraid they will say they can't fix it. This shouldn't be happening on a vehicle period but especially not on one that cost as much as these do.

Mine has made that noise since day one, freaked me out the first time I heard it, hopefully they have a fix by now?

Since day 1. Doesn't really bother me but would like to know why. Not even sure I would bother with a fix. My AC is cold and I live in FL. Not worth taking a chance on a dealer messing up my cold AC.

Just bought a 2019 Cummins 2500. My AC is also making this noise. Has anyone had the TSB completed? Has this fixed this issue?

Just got back from a 1,500 mile road trip in my 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab. I experienced the same ****pit cabin vent fan purge cycle at least once per hour for the entire duration of our trip. It did not seem to matter what setting the HVAC system was using. I did notice a change in the smell of the air in the cabin near the end of each loud vent cycle.

I never noticed a smell but mine still does it from the passenger vent by the window only.

I have had several 5th gen trucks and they've all done it. My 2021 is less noticeable, but still does it. No idea how or why.
