Can we just confirm that this behavior is normal without all of us having to go to a dealer?

Hi deanfx,

As our team is not mechanically trained, we rely on the findings of our dealer partners. With this in mind, we are unfortunately unable to speculate regarding your inquiry.

Recently registered due to AC issues, I am having this issue after picking up my truck a little over a week ago. Has there been any resolution to this so that I can tell my dealer? I will be PM'ing RamCare as well. Thanks.

What's your build date? I was at my dealer last week and told the most recent hvac update is from over the summer, which I have.

Build date is 8-19, so should I take it in and ask to check or would this have been updated at the factory?

You should have the current HVAC software version. I was told another update would be out in Q4. I had the blower door programming issue and very high fan speed on auto a/c before the a/c really cools the air. Hopefully it addresses it.

Just noticed yesterday that the door must be staying open from recirculating air to outside air as there is an increase in cabin noise from the air vents when in recirculating mode at high speeds. I pushed to change to outside air and the sound is gone. In my opinion the blend door is not fully closing on recirculating and then it is also randomly opening due to programming...RamCares I will follow up on your response. Thanks.

Yep, that's the issue. A programming issue which has yet to be resolved.

Was this ever resolved? I have a 2020 ram 3500 that’s doing the same thing every 30 minutes or so I get a noticeable change in noise as if the settings had went from( fan speed) low to high and then back to low.

Yup issue yet to be resolved I’ve been complaining about this same issue since I bought the truck. Last week at the dealership the Service Manager knew what I was talking about and told me he is working with his TA and to follow up with him in 2 weeks. It is a programming issue that the truck tries to allow air in to not have the evap freeze over but the door get stuck half way. My noise happens even with the passenger vents closed the noise still happens only on passenger side. It is the most obnoxious thing!

Im actually taking it to Larry H Miller in Albuquerque NM tomorrow. I already talked to one of the mechanics who says there isn’t a fix for it due to it being a software issue but that I need to come In and get a paper trail started. I’m also having issues with my door handle unlock/lock button not working and my touch screen not coming on and just staying completely black not sure if that’s all due to the same software issue or not. I would appreciate any help with the situation that you could offer as I am sure you could understand how I wouldn’t be exactly thrilled spending 76k on a brand new truck and having any problems with it let alone having to waste a well earned day off bringing it back to the dealership only for the issue not to be resolved.

So I got up today hopped in the truck on the way to drop it off at the dealership and as soon as I left the house my dash says trailer blind spot enabled the only problem is I didn’t have a trailer hooked up to it. The trailer light stayed on the dash the whole way to the dealership and the service manager was able to see it. 4 hours later I get a call from the same service manager saying my truck was done but due to the technician not able to recreate any of the issues and it not having any kind of software update there wasn’t anything they could do or go off of. He stated that if it was to malfunction again to try and take it right back just as I did this last time so I’m not sure what will be different next time. So in all today was a complete wast of time and my truck still hasn’t had any of the issues addressed.

I started a thread a few days ago about the same issue. Hopefully they will update it soon. Drives me nuts during a road trip.
