Just dropped off my truck at the local dealer. Brought up the A/c issue and the service advisor already started to say that I might just be used to the old style freon......

What part of useless advice don’t you understand? Dealers are no help.
Unless you have a real fix, please get the heck out of here.

You may want to check out KcRay procedure in beginning of page 1 of thread "air conditioning Hack" using one valve and my plan is listed on page 7 of same thread using 2 valves for total ability to bypass heater core without adding any back pressure.

I agree that they need a real fix and not just kicking it back to the dealer. However, having Ram Cares participate in these threads is the quickest and most efficient way to get FCA's attention. They hate negative PR, so they monitor and try to assist as best they can. These guys are not top level brass. They're just here to help the best they can. By the way, what is 'start/start' in your vehicle description?

I live in Texas and have 28,000 on my 19 limited and it is black. The air is not the best if truck has been sitting in the heat. I have ceramic tinted the pano roof and it definitely helped. The ac is really the only disappointing factor on the truck. If ram cares is listening add lane assist and stop and go cruise to 2500 mega cab and I will spend the 80k .... otherwise still waiting on the ecodiesel.

There are at least 5 AC threads running now. Here is a list
1) Air conditioning Hack
2) RAM AC poor performance TWITTER/FACEBOOK
3) A/C Performance
4) Air conditioning performance
5) Update on A/C issues

Not sure if there is a way to consolidate these.
Jhill just a heads up. The black text on the dark grey background difficult to read your posts. At least on my devices.

I just figured out what you are talking about. I had my setting in "dark" mode that makes background white behind letters. When I switched mode in right end of toolbar my posts looked like you describe. How strange. I fixed it. Thanks!

I just figured out what was going on. I had my computer in "dark" mode so I saw letters over a white background. They looked easy to read to me. Crazy.....thanks I fixed a bunch of posts

Hello RamCares......are you communicating with management about how this AC issue is growing much bigger rapidly as the word spreads and weather warms? Just sending owners to a dealer that is going to reject problem isn't a valid solution.

Hi Jhill,
As previously stated to your fellow forum members, the way we communicate internally is through escalating cases. The more cases, the larger volume of the concern, and the more internal parties are made aware. I do understand that it can be an inconvenience to visit your dealership, however, it is required to escalate cases as a dealer diagnosis is the only way to provide case specialists with the most current vehicle specs.

I live in Florida and we have experienced heat index over 100 already; I know Jacksonville Fla temperature was 100 recently with many in high 90's.

Unfortunately the results/resolution are driven by MONEY!!! This is classic squeaky wheel gets the oil...or in this case a fix will come if enough complaints warrants the dollars to send fix down. Sad but true.

Though we (the people that have purchased these vehicles) should not have to go extra steps to get this fixed. However, it seems again driven by MONEY that each person not getting this fixed by the dealer should file a complaint with RAMCARE so the cases will build and reach the MONEY SWITCH TO GET A FIX DOWN THE PIPE FASTER!!!

Those that have already went to the dealership and still have the issue should file a complaint with RAMCARE.

Time to pull out thermometer to see where my truck is at...sometimes feels cold other times struggling--hot months of July-August-Sep...on there way down here in Southwest Florida!!!!

Hit 80's in the past week here in Michigan. And , I like many others find the A/C very disappointing. My previous truck was an '05 2500 Ram, with a leak in the A/C system (would have to put a can in every other season) and it would get so cold I would barely have to have it on. My 19 1500 which just turned 3000 miles is sad compared to that. With it on max A/C , fan as high as it could go, it barely was comfortable. Ambient temp was 80 and no sun. I love this truck , purchased it with the intent on keeping it a long time. Things like this are going to be a bummer though...

My 03 Ram's A/C is Ice Cold. Other than looking like crap, it still drives good and is a real pleasure to cool off in. Puts this 19 to shame.

Thought to myself today just like everyone else, this is not really "cold" I guess I will wait for the recall, rather than bug my dealer, cause they are actually good. We will see how it goes when it gets really hot. But will be mentioning it next time i got in, of course to get my brakes fixed.

I just dropped mine off today, they confirmed what we already thought. Everything is working as expected but I explained the documentation process so that Ram will eventually take notice if they get enough complaints. Please be sure ur dealer files the paperwork stating you are unhappy - hopefully enough of us will and they issue a TSB or Recall on the swing door mechanism.

Fingers crossed. The heat index today is 108 in Daytona...

To that account directly, however unless your truck is in the shop or you plan to bring it in - dm'ing them it seems is fairly pointless. All the DM will help with is if your dealer is not being helpful in the matter of servicing your truck, they have the ability to reach out to the dealer directly and expedite things. Or at least that is what I gathered after DM'ing them.

Best thing you can do is have your dealer confirm the AC is working as it should then have them notate your not satisfied with it so that can be brought up the chain by the dealership.
