Playing devils advocate here - you have a '13 F150. I've had a '14, currently drive a '16 F150 and have a '19 Ram on order.

Have you browsed the F150 forum's for the 2015+s? The small issues we've seen on Rams pale in comparison.....

I looked VERY hard at getting a '18 F150 instead of the '19 Ram. Staying with the XLT trim, from the '16 to '18 the truck has been de-contented some. Stepping up to a Lariat I lose a lot of rebates and gain keyless start/leather but it's the same darn truck and the chance of getting rid of my good truck for an issue filled truck was too great!

I haven't. But, that model F150 has I bet a few hundred thousand trucks on the road. With that type of quantity, you'll hear about issues more. The only thing that I find worrisome is that there are not many 2019 Rams on the road yet and there is already lots of chatter about issues. Heck, I haven't seen a 2019 Ram on the street yet. But hey, I'm buying one. And I think they are awesome.

Got my window sticker today & they charged me an extra $100 for the diamond black paint. Whats up with that.

Does every truck that’s black get that or how does that happen.

I guess in particular I’ve seen a few different window stickers for Steel Metallic for example. Some list an extra $200 charge in the options and some do not. Is there any difference there for that?

Here is an example from a dealer close by. Two 2019 Limiteds in Granite Crystal Metallic but only the one has an extra 200 charge on the sticker.

On the build site only the white color showed an extra charge. How does this difference come about and are you getting anything extra for it? (see attachment)

One was built 4/5 and the one built 4/25 has the extra charge (You'll see the build date on the window sticker in MMDD format, just above the bar code and to the right). Looks to be a recent addition.

Ford had a price increase between when I placed my order and when the window sticker was generated. I did not pay the statistical additional $145.

My dealer said Ram was charging 100-200 for each color paint and 500 for the Ivory. He thought it was ridiculous. He said "if someone doesn't want to pay for the paint will they ship it with just the primer on it"? LOL


If you go to Truecar and click on the options for a Ram you will see the upcharge for each color paint

I wish I could check it online myself and have it be up to date and accurate. Estimated dates of production would also be a nice feature

That is a nice system for sure. Ram should copy it

Ram used to have VOTS which was more or less the same. Don't know why it was discontinued.
