Price negotiated from MSRP

MSRP $63.2k on my Rebel, and I was upside down $1.5k in my trade ('19 Trailhawk), so call it $64.5k.

I paid $56.6k OTD.

This thread seems to confirm I did ok, thanks guys!
Wow that's a great deal. When did you get that and where? What was the price before TTL? MSRP prices for my Rebel build are $60,860 and the best I'm getting with rebates is $51,658 before TTL. OTD is $57k here in AZ with a 7.8% sales tax.

I don't know my exact amounts that Mark Dodge provided me, but my MSRP was $59,765. They sold me the truck at $52,015, plus $200 doc fee, $19 in temp tags and notary fees, minus $3750 in rebates (includes a $1500 consumer certificate from Chrysler). My total price was $48,484, or about 19% off MSRP.

The good news about my deal is the $52,015 price is about 7% below invoice, I got decent rebates and I didn't have to pay dealer fees. Granted, I paid to ship the truck home, but shipping was still less than dealer's fees of $899 at Lakeland. I then feel good knowing that during Covid, I provided employment for the shipper rather than giving it to a dealer for pure profit. Someone put food on their table!
How did you go about getting the $1500 consumer certificate and was that on a build or something off the lot?

Bought the truck 12/26/20 in Dayton, Ohio.

I'd have to look at the paperwork on the before TTL numbers, but sales tax here is 7.5%, so you can basically figure it from there.

Maybe there were better end of year incentives? Of course, according to the sales guy, I stole the truck and the dealership lost money. Riiiiiight. 😂😂😂

Well your sales tax is pretty much the same. You did get a great deal compared to what I'm being offered on a build, so congrats. I can't get anywhere close to that right now and I'm reaching out to dealerships across the country. Was it a truck off the lot or a build? That might make a little difference and of course end of year. I'm hoping the incentives get a little better next month or I'm going to be waiting a while for my truck.

It was off the lot. They had 7 Rebels at the time, and I think they are all gone now. I was told they are allotted a couple TRX's too, but they haven't arrived.

I'm happy to give you my sales guys name if you want to reach out. Not sure if it'll do any good, but it might be worth a few minutes?

Sure, I'll take it please. Can you PM me the info?

Damn, that's hard to beat. I'm getting between 5-6% off invoice. Anyone know of a dealership offering 7% or more off invoice on the west coast?
The best price I found in the West were from Dennis Dillon in Boise, ID. They require you to finance through Chrysler Capital to get their best price, but you can refinance after 6 payments. They don't have a set number off each build like Lakeland, but when I compared a Big Horn build between the two Dennis Dillon was cheaper when accounting for the dealership fees (Dennis Dillon's is way less than Lakeland's). Plus way cheaper to ship or drive back from Dennis Dillon if you're on the West Coast. I ended up buying a Laramie Southwest Edition from Mark Dodge in Louisiana, but Dennis Dillon also was great to work with and had by far the best prices I could find in the West.

I recently bought a factory order 2021 1500 Laramie Southwest Edition from Mark Dodge (Monotone Diamond Black, Rear Wheelhouse-Liners, Laramie Level 1, 5.7L V8 w/o eTorque, Anti-Spin Differential, 3.92 Axle Ratio, 33-Gallon Fuel Tank). Mostly dealt with Aaron Ginsburgh. Working with Aaron was amazing. No games, no negotiating, and no hidden fees. When I ordered Aaron guaranteed me $7,590 in dealer discount plus the $200 doc fee, $15 notary fee, and $4 temp tag ($49,869 plus the factory rebates at time of arrival before TTL). For a factory order, I considered that a great deal (better than any other dealership I had contacted) and put in my order on 11/23/20. Aaron figured it would take 8-12 weeks to arrive, so I was hoping for good factory incentives in January or February when it arrived. Ram got the truck done way sooner than expected and it arrived on 12/30/20. Aaron had already offered me a price below Employee Pricing and the December incentives were not great ($1,000 consumer cash). However, they wanted to get a deal done before 2021 so they offered me an even bigger discount of $12,000 plus incentives! I believe this was a combination of employee pricing and dealership discount, as I signed the paperwork for employee pricing. But other dealerships I had spoken with refused to combine their discount with employee pricing. It was one or the other. So to get both was an amazing deal to me. The paperwork from Mark Dodge did not breakdown that $12,000 in discounts so I have no idea how much was from Ram and how much was from Mark Dodge. I do know that employee pricing on the build sheet was $6,864 below MSRP. From what I have read online it sounds like employee pricing is partly reimbursed by Ram and partly comes from the dealership. I broke down the discount as "Employee Pricing" and "Dealer Discount" below but I'm not 100% sure that is correct. In any case, it was $12,000 off combined. I also had the RAM $1,500 Pop-Up Bonus Cash code and received the December $1,000 Consumer Cash. Combined that was $14,500 off of MSRP! If had financed with Chrysler Capital I could have received another $500 incentive but I preferred to get a lower rate with another bank. I had already been pre-approved for an amazing rate with a local credit union and that was the best rate I could find. Aaron's finance guys found a bank that would beat that rate! I ended up with just over 25% off of MSRP and an amazing interest rate. This was my first new car purchase and I could not be happier with how it turned out. Now I know I lucked out by having my truck arrive just before the end of the year when dealerships are trying to meet quotas and I doubt even Mark Dodge could normally give people that discount. However, I have consistently seen on this forum that Mark Dodge has the best prices and some of the lowest dealership fees ($200 doc fee, $15 notary fee, $4 temp tag). Any of the other dealerships that can get prices near Mark Dodge seem to have high dealership fees nearing $900 or try to double charge the destination fee. I cannot recommend Mark Dodge enough. Even if you don't get the deal I got, you will get a great price from them. And you won't have to deal with a bunch of games. I live in Idaho, so I am going to have to get my truck shipped but the cost of that pales in comparison to the savings I received by buying from Mark Dodge. I will give an update with pictures when my truck arrives.

I wanted to give you all an updated on my post now that I got the truck back home to Idaho. I tried getting someone to ship it and the highest I was willing to pay was $1,700. One guy offered to do it for $1,800 but I declined and nobody accepted the job for $1,700. I travelled to Orlando for a trip in mid-January and decided to change my return flight on January 18th to just go pick up my truck from Louisiana and drive it back. I have family in San Antonio, TX and Fort Collins, CO. So I did a shorter dive to San Antonio, then longer stretches from San Antonio to Fort Collins (15 hours) and Fort Collins to Idaho (15 hours). Had a few days during each stop to visit and rest up. Didn't have to pay anything for lodging and gas totalled $324.37 for the trip (I gassed up exclusively at Costco's and did half regular and half premium to make mid-grade). The 33 gallon tank was clutch for the trip. I was shocked at how comfortable the ride was. It was the only car that I've ever felt comfortable in for a 15-hour drive. Made it home on 01/24/21. Couldn't be happier and highly recommend Mark Dodge!

25.33% off MSRP is maybe the best I've heard for a 5th gen, and it was an ORDER! You're in an elite group. Congrats.

I also wrote and spoke to someone at Dennis Dillon and they also required a 3-5 thousand dollar, non refundable, deposit. Said I could only put down between 10k or 20%, the rest had to be financed through them. If I chose not to finance through them, they would add 2k to the deal. Since she said I have to pay 6 mos. on the loan, that is a little more than $1200 at 4.5% interest.
This was for an ordered truck.
Truck price Msrp 70,800, their offer, 62,383. Plus I had to help her with the order because she left some stuff off.
Not very impressed with Dennis Dillon
Bud Clary seems to have a better price, just quite a bit further drive.

I've been in contact with them and so far they have given me the best offer, but only by $100 lol. I need one of these deals all of you are getting. I'm just hoping for 18% off MSRP, but maybe I'm not going to get that with a Rebel build.

I was looking to pay cash and told them I'd be willing to finance a little if it got me a better deal. She also told me I could only put $10k down and had to hold the loan for 6 months or the price would be $2k more. That's when I checked out. Still working with Aaron, but there's really no movement on price. I've basically got the same price within $500 between dealerships in LA, WA, ID and here in AZ. They're all within $500 and I need them all to drop another $3k. Here's to hoping I guess. Either that are start working on cutting things from my build.

Well this is where I'm at with my Rebel build. Just sharing numbers with the forum. MSRP should be at least 18% off, so I'm waiting. It looks like the time to order was last month with the employee pricing deals and the $1500 pop up discount. Not really in a hurry at this point, so I can play the waiting game. It's fun playing the game though.

I don't think you're gonna see much better percentages off MSRP in regards to the dealership discount for a factory order. Usually the way you get that last 4-8% off MSRP is through the factory incentives or rebates. But you don't know what those will be until the truck arrives. I believe the end of each quarter is typically the best month for factory incentives (March, June, September, and December). So you'd probably want to order 8-10 weeks before one of the months. But it's always a bit of a crap shoot for the factory incentives. The other way to go is to try to find a lot truck that's close to your build. That way you know what the factory incentives are before you buy. And, if the truck has been on the lot a while, the dealership may be able to give you a slightly better percentage off of MSRP.

What's interesting about that is my dealer stated I'd get the rebates that are offered now or the ones when the truck arrived. Whichever was better. That's why I just decided to wait to see if the incentives improve tomorrow when they should change for the new month.
