Price negotiated from MSRP

Hard to "crystal ball" it but didn't your dealer agree to whatever rebates were higher, either when you ordered or when it arrives?
Most dealers will not allow you to use current incentives/rebates on factory orders. I have seen no clear rules on this.

I wonder if anyone who is getting 14% or more off MSRP before incentives/rebates has been allowed to lock in current offers on a factory order.

Good question, hopefully someone with 1st hand knowledge will answer. The long thread "Order Tacking" has a variety of responses, seems most say either national rebates only will be honored either time or they say "only those at receipt of truck"...

I was just telling my wife I was a month too late selling my Ram 2500 because I missed the best deals. I was saying I might just have to wait until the end of this year and build a 2022 when the best deals hit.
The biggest difference in me waiting and buying this month was trade in values were insane a few months ago and have dropped a bit. I was still able to work a great deal with negotiating at a local dealer. If you want a great deal without any hassle, go with Aaron at Mark Dodge or try to find what you like on a dealers lot on a day they really wanna sell a truck.

Did you end up ordering something from them? I am just don't know about spending that much sight unseen.
I did. Longhorn. It will arrive sometime after Feb. 15. I figure that it will be the same as every other Longhorn I have seen on the lots. I took a test drive of a V8 Longhorn at my local San Diego dealership before I asked for quotes from anyone to make sure I really wanted that truck.

Note that Aaron's quote will be the dealer price and does not include TTL in California. All factory rebates come off of that price (i.e., it will only go down, not up). You will pay TTL when you get it to back to California. You have to deal with the local DMV, but that is manageable if you make an appointment. Local San Diego dealerships's pre-TTL prices were thousands above Aaron's price and they would not put into writing that factory rebates would come off of that price as well. Aaron's responsiveness and transparency, combined with the brush-off and runaround that San Diego dealerships gave me, made the purchase a no-brainer for me. My remaining issue is that I will likely give these San Diego dealerships my business when it comes to servicing because I don't want to argue about any warranty work that may come along in the future.

The website is now showing the Feb specials and I can breath a little easier. Looks like the cash rebate stayed the same but the 0% went to 72 months (from 60)

Dealer would only agree to rebates at time of delivery but when I started talking to them the employee pricing was going on and they beat it by miles.

When I was ordering my Ram yesterday the salesperson asked if I had a family member who worked for Chrysler & my brother in law being a mechanic at a dealership did not come to mind. The EP on my build sheet is $1000 below what we finally agreed on. I ask him & he is not sure what his employee number is for sure but gave me a series of 5 numbers preceded by & followed by the letter S. Could that be right? A potential additional $1000 off won't hurt a thing.

Just placed an order for my first RAM on Feb 1st, coming from a 2012 Tundra.

Laramie crew 4x4, ecodiesel, night edition, level 2 package. Off road group, panoramic sunroof, 12"screen, ram boxes, bed utility group, advanced safety group,
69420 msrp. Negotiated to 63k before any rebates and incentives. Should take delivery in march and will update after incentives.

I will say classic ram in denton tx was quick and easy to work with.

I too ordered on Feb 1st. Limited 4wd MSRP 68300 to 62000 & locked in current incentives of 3250, hopefully better at delivery.

I'm exactly in that boat. Factory order, ~14% off w/o rebates or incentives. Offered whatever is available at delivery.

Thoughts please...2019 leftover ram big horn nicely equipped

Msrp 54804 out the door 43900

That is pretty close to 20% OTD. For being a 2019 brand new I would think it could be better but if you feel it is a great deal then that is all that matters.

What do you mean by "out the door"? This thread is always clarifying price. To me, I have always considered out the door to include EVERYTHING, so including taxes, tags, and even finance rate which affects the total amount you'd pay if you stick with the full 4, 5 or 6 years of payments.

For the sake of equal comparisons, and judgement of what is a fair deal, this thread only considers dealer discount, incentives/rebates, and dealer fees. Taxes, plates, and loan interest rates vary by state and lender so they are excluded.

If your out the door is truly out the door, meaning it also includes taxes and plates, then it is much better than if you now have to apply your state's sales tax to that $43,900.

A 2019 with 10 miles on it is depreciated further than a 2020 or a 2021 with 10 miles. It is not your fault the dealer couldn't sell that truck since, potentially, September 2018. If I were going to buy a new 2019, I wouldn't settle for anything less than 25% off MSRP. Chances are with some homework that you may find a leftover 2020, or for $1000-$1500 more, a 2021. But as Snofire said above, if you personally think it's a good deal, then it is.

I was basically forced to trade Monday. Locked in trade value of 48000 for my 2018 Ram 2500 4wd Diesel. Afraid what might happen in the 8-10 weeks estimated delivery period.

Yes it includes everything to get it in my driveway beside the local registration. I am not too worried about it being a 19 vs 20 or 21 since I will hold it for awhile. My concern was more of it felt too close in price to the next model year.

If that includes the TTL, then it is much better than 20% off MSRP. If you are at 25% or more off before TTL, that is a great deal even on a 2019.

I ordered from Mark Dodge back at the end of November ($500 deposit on my credit card), truck arrived on 12/30/20. I signed the paperwork electronically and wired over my down payment. Went smoothly. Never even went into the dealership.

People are getting 2021 Big Horns at more than 20% off MSRP right now.

Example 2021 Big Horn
MSRP $50,560
-14% Dealer Discount = $43,482
-$4000 in National Incentives
Total $39,482 is 22% off MSRP

This does not even include many other rebates available such as
Penfed $1000/other Truecar affiliate $500 or
Chrysler Capital 2021 Bonus Cash $500 for example

Was that a Laramie? If so how many miles? I think you might have got robbed.

Based on his other post it was a laramie with around 35k miles. The KBB trade-in is very close to that. Depending on his state it could save him on taxes for the difference in taxable value. In return making it technically more into $50+ on trade in.

I just sold my 2014 Laramie with 87k miles last week for $45k privately. Dealer offered me $36k with the sales tax savings it would have totaled around $39k. I said hell no. I would think he could’ve got $55k through a private sale.
