Price negotiated from MSRP

Problem with Carvana is that you lose the sales tax credit in most states, so their offer isn’t as attractive as it seems

Very true, but the differential in what the dealer wants to steal it for vs. the Carvana offer often more than makes up for the tax credit. But, it is something to keep in the equation.

This is true and definitely factors in, unless you are trading in and/or signing up for a lease in a state that collects taxes with each lease payment.

Check out what Carvana, Vroom, CarSense, CarMax, etc. will offer. I’ve traded in two cars to Carvana and got as much or more than any dealer was offering for a trade. It was a relatively quick and easy process and they gave exactly what they estimated online.
I totally agree...did this with my wife's car and Carvana and Vroom gave me top dollar for our car!

I have a few questions:
For those who have purchased from either Dennis Dillon in Caldwell, Idaho or Dave Smith in Kellogg, Idaho can you tell me if they sell for less than invoice on an ordered truck? Or maybe a better question would be how much off MSRP have people been able to achieve?

Also, in general, (percentage wise) how much off MSRP is Employee Pricing? And, finally, how much off MSRP is invoice in general?

Thank you
I haven’t bought from Dillon, but can tell you they require you to finance with them. My Quote for a $73k MSRP was $63k but had to finance. So basically a bit better than employee pricing. I got another dealer to give me similar price no strings attached In Utah.

Used car inventories have been low due to Covid. Carvana was offering ridiculous $$ for some vehicles just because of that limited inventory. The dealers were trying to maintain lowball offers on used cars while selling them for higher profits. Even the auctions were seeing higher prices because the dealers wanted inventory, but couldn't get any so prices went up. The used car wholesale pricing has been coming down recently, and trucks have been maintaining higher values.

I know of a few cases where Carvana bought Mustangs and paid huge prices for them only for the price correction to hit a month later for thousands less than they paid for the car. They were offering in the upper $20k range for a 2014 Mustang GT. That's unreal as the same car could have been purchased new in 2014, with discounts and rebates, for low $30s. So a 6 year old car only lost $4k or $5k to the original owner!

I must be doing something wrong or my ford is holding a -45% value. Carvana is giving me 12xxx and KBB instant is giving me $22xxx.

What’s NADA? Somewhere between KBB and NADA should be basically top dollar a dealer would give you. I was closer to NADA

KBB is BS and means nothing. Always off by huge amounts. It's what the market will offer that's what matters

That’s odd, Carvana has always quoted me a price somewhere around NADA, which was always higher than KBB for me.

I will again say that Mark Dodge in Louisiana has some phenomenal pricing. I bought my truck from them 1 month ago today and I'm seeing they have even better pricing than I got. They have the Rebel at $12,000 off MSRP. If I bought today, I had a $1500 consumer cash that's good until mid January, so instead of my $11,500, it'd be $13,500 off!!!

They also have a couple Laramies and Limiteds at $17k off.

Regarding the non-negotiable add ons, the wheel locks are $50 retail direct from the parts department. I also just bought the best window tint and did all windows, even the back, and paid $275. The front windows only, with ceramic tint, would have cost $100.

Any chance that anybody from Mark Dodge wants to send me some cash back? If only that was an option.
When you bought your truck, was it in stock or did you have it built? How was the experience at Mark Dodge?

Deals are still working... 73,245 MSRP with an OTD price of $52,500... 20,300 for my trade(I owe 11,xxx)

They have Installed packages :
NSD appearance protection: $399.00
NSD etch: $299.00
KAHU GPS: 699.00

I want to be $50k OTD and taking these off gets me in between their 52.5 and my 50...

At worst, it gives you an option and a 'floor.' Depending on how the algorithm is pricing things, you'd be surprised at what you can get from carvana. Having that offer in your pocket is useful, even if only as leverage.

OTD 52,500 is factoring in 20K for your trade?
That's not a good deal.

With the payoff being 11k netting a 9k with tax savings?

Currently working this deal on a 2020 2500 Laramie diesel. Listed at $64200 + destination + outrageous processing fee. I am completely lost on % off MSRP. Can anyone analyze?

EDIT: Wrong picture

I see you may have uploaded the wrong picture. That aside, you need to clarify a few things first. Look at the Market Value Selling Price ($74,380). Is this the "MSRP" listed in the window sticker? If not, you need to know that. Also, does the Market Value Selling Price already include the destination charge? If so, don't let them add it a second time. Once you know the actual MSRP and whether or not destination is being charged twice, the calculation will be easier (and more accurate). IF the destination charge is not included twice, it appears (without knowing more) that you're getting over 18% off MSRP. Not sure if that's actually a good deal for a 2020. 2021, yes. 2020, maybe not.

$74,380 is what's on the window sticker. Then adding the destination charge on top according to them. The last image I uploaded is the deal sheet they sent me an hour ago. Seems like not such a great deal after all.

Can someone confirm that the $1500 bonus cash is working as of today? I'm not able to get it to pop up.

I agree that Mark Dodge has the best prices. Wish they were closer since i would have a trade in. they have the perfect optioned limited right now. My exact truck but 2021 4WD
I think I’ll buy my next RAM there. While I liked Kville, they weren’t quite that good. Some crawfish broil in LA right now sounds pretty good too.

Are you saying destination IS listed on the sticker and the sticker matches the Market Value Selling Price ($74,380)? If so, they are double charging destination.
