Price negotiated from MSRP

New here, first post and first truck purchase.

From Peel Chrysler in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada - they advertise that they are the largest volume dealer in Canada.

2019 Ram Laramie Longhorn
$87,645 MSRP
$10,500 factory discount
$11,155 discount from store
Final selling price: $65,990.00 (including $995.00 lease protection plan)

I leased the truck through my company, $0.00 down payment, 36 months 24k/yr @ $856.20 per month + tax... for an '$87k' truck LOL. There isn't a vehicle on the planet you can lease for that price that has the interior quality of the Longhorn. Ram is giving these trucks away, at least in Canada anyways.

Now I don't have to borrow my wife's SUV for towing duty anymore, and it can be full-time dedicated to Starbucks runs as it was designed for :D.

I am from MN. Has anybody got an idea if the rebates will get better in August? Missed out on the June ones. Would like to upgrade from my 2014 big horn to a 2019 Laramie.

Hello fellow minnesotan - no dealer I have talked to would say (even if they know). Some dealers I have talked to do still offer 15% on select RAMs.

What dealers have you been talking talking with. I saw the prices at the end of June and figured at the prices I could upgrade then the truck I was looking at went up $6,500 for July and that put it out of what I want to spend.

It’s not magic guys.... you can check the ram website at anytime for the current rebates.

So this looks like a pretty good deal. I didn't know about the date code, so this was built in 4/18? They were building the '19's that early? I am bummed that I missed the killer deals on the higher trim levels. By the time I knew about it I didn't have enough time to get my act together to pull the trigger on such a big purchase. The Big Horns are nice, but I think I want the leather enough to wait, or just suck it up and buy a '20.

Yea they built the 19s super early. Thad’s why I think they did the big discounts in June vs later in the year. But we will see if they return.... this is the first time they’ve ever had a chance at out selling the other two and maybe they will continue to get wild. The publicity for them being number 1 sold truck in 2019 would be huge for the brand.

We bought our mini van from them. They are a great dealer.

Ya pretty good. They were pissed I went to river front and got them down a lot More money because they hate losing business to them. Finance guy was ticked too that I traded in my paid off car and paid the balance with a check. Oh well...lol

Here's my offer on a Laramie Sport Crew cab 4x4:
MSRP: $57055
Dealer selling price: $48500
Rebates: $3700
Total OTD: $44800 (not including taxes, fees, extended warranty)

This includes $1k Chrysler rebate for financing.
Also got quoted $2800 for a 72month/100k mile bumper to bumper extended. Thoughts on if this is a good price and overall offer?

So I went to a dealer to test drive a fully loaded 1500 Limited I was interested in. I called the dealer and was quoted a price of $57k, the online MSRP was listed at $71k (inc. destination). After the test drive the salesman told me I wasn't qualified for all the discounts that dropped the price to $57k and the best they could do is $60k + fees. I told him I needed to be closer to the $57k number which I was told is not possible. I really don't need a Limited but it was the only model I could find that hit all my check boxes. I didn't offer a trade-in at the time but between my girlfriend and myself, we have 3 paid-off vehicles we can negotiate with.

I may entertain a trade-in offer but I think waiting might be a better option. If anyone has any thoughts I would love to hear feedback.
(PS - I found this thread to be extremely beneficial)
My $64K Limited sold to me for $56 in April. If they just add up discounts you dont qualify for then you have to give somewhere. How did that limited get up to 71K? I haven’t seen one that high. Must be dealer add-ons. Perhaps you could get those removed.

Did you haggle/negotiate from what was listed on by the dealer? or was that 65990 what the dealer had listed?

It was about $1100 less than the discount they advertised online when you factored in freight & PDI, air excise taxes, $100 for tank of fuel etc... Peel's advertised price was already better than most other dealers came up with as their best offer.

I bought a week ago at same sticker price. You have more dealer discount, I had more rebates (mine were both $6200 for a total of$12400). I didn't wait. The truck was what I wanted.

You can buy the extended warranty for a lot less online.

A few members have mentioned the desire to have a price paid thread so I decided to do one and pin it here so it will be easy for everyone to find.

I think the best way to make this thread is as follows:
MSRP of the specific truck
What Rebates and incentives were applied and $ amounts
Any further negotiations
Final price

Please do not include trade in values, taxes, OTD price or anything like that as those are all variable depending on where you live etc. Rebates and incentives are also regional so also please post up where you purchased the truck and when.

Example:

2016 Ram 1500 Sport

MSRP $64,440
-$10,000 rebate from Ram
-$1000 skilled trades rebate
-$3940 additional negotiated at dealer
=$49,500 paid

Vancouver. B.C August 2016
I bought my Limited on 6/29/19 and got $17000 off the sticker. I think I got a really good deal.
